You guys are so funny haha. My most epic fails are when I don't see the sleeve slide under my hoop and it embroiders the sleeve to the back of my image

Great Job!! The patch came out great! We definitely all make mistakes even if we don't record them. Epic fail for me, I make Betty Boop Sports Tumblers in my shop. People pick their team, so I was almost done with an order that I needed to ship the next day. Went in Etsy to print my label and review the order and I made it for the wrong team 🤦🏽‍♀️. Had to rush make a new cup with the correct team. Luckily the wrong team was a very popular team so I saved the cup and someone ordered that team about 2 weeks later! 🙌 It all works out in the end. Thanks for sharing!! ❤️

Thank you, if you're not making mistakes you're not pushing yourself to try bigger and better things. I've had to say up tp 5 am because we messed up a sign on the last step. But you get it done and learn from it. We're in a great community that motivates, we are so lucky!!! Thank you again for the support!

Great job on your first patch, Red E Hustle/Mr. Fajita! In response to your question, I embroider patches for a client and stitch out the border first. I feel it gives a smoother finish by holding the fabric in place while the text stitches out. However, patches can be embroidered either way.

Thank you for the video, really enjoyed watching you although I had very little idea of what you were doing. I'm getting a digitizing program soon for my Mac so I thought I'd watch your video after watching Neita's. I embroidery as well with a PE770, so I plan on learning to digitize.

When I Do a fill stitch background hole sewing. The hole is where the letters in lay into the fill stitch. Note they are stitch heavy and like a bullet thick. When I make them cost is based on stich count. Because they can take longer on the Pe800 vers a multineedle. YET another reason to move up!

Epic fails are where we learn what not to do.
      Aka learning curves like
sewing the front and back under the hoop,
not using a screw driver to tighten a needle after the needle break and my favorite the tension is different based on fabric and backing where the bottom looks amazing and the top not so much.
That is why I say your machine and digitizing is a skill and they are improving with each design and the sew out is proof.
Jump stitches can be minimal and planning how to cover them with in a thread based design is different than appliques.
When you paint light to dark embroidery is that way too. What ever is in the background to foreground.
Satin stitches are the outlines the give the definition to where the object ends.
You are doing a great job. Your help files may help you define the width of stitches. How to tell if the registration is correct. And how to make hole stitches (eyes are a fantastic use of hole sew the black and white goes in the hole. Sew the white first then black as black will cover the gap)
Also push and pull compensations you want to align the stitching with a bit of overlap so you do not get the gap mentioned above. Unless you plan on a running top stitch!
Remember you planned for this design element it is not a mistake.
Never point out a design element to your customer. This makes your unique design yours and you can repeat it.
Until you fix the design element in your file!.
Have fun with embroidery design! And remember you can use fabric markers to help with registration issues.

Great job! I have questions. What we thread did you use and needle size and did you use scissors to cut the patch out?

    • @Red.E.Hustle
      @Red.E.Hustle  4 года назад

I'll have to check with Neita unless she see's this and responds. I just know it's what she normally uses. I did cut out the patch with appliqué scissors, but unfortunately the camera wasn't recording 🤦‍♂️

Hey Red E, the patch came out great. One epic fail is me using the magna glide bobbin without taking out the metal piece from the bobbin case which makes mess up one of my shirt order. I just figure it out now and my stitch is fine. I learn from my mistake never to use something I wasn’t familiar with on orders.

This how I make patches with thinner fabric. Hoop 2 layers of cut away and one layer of the thinner fabric. Next stitch the shape and use heat and bond light and fabric on the next layer. Trim the fabric and iron down because I can see if I am going out of the design size. Stitch out the design and unhoop next cut the stablizer. I iron on Heat and bond heavy on the back so it can be ironed on. Little tip if you use black thread you can use a black permanent marker to cover up the white stabilizer. Or any color to match your outside satin stitches. I usually make my patch so that the outside satin stitch is the last step.
