Curious why the oil filter cost $20? Also you're going a bit overboard changing the oil every month. It's your car so do you but it's unnecessary. If you're using a quality Synthetic oil you can go easily 5k miles before your next one. Just top off the oil whenever it's low. Some synthetics can last up to 15k until the next oil change. Unless you're driving it hard and beating it all to hell than you don't have to frequently change it. You should do no more than 4 oil changes a yr if that. Make sure you flush that radiator fluid and change the transmission and differential fluid.
Not really the Vq do consume oil especially if you are pushing the car, my oil won’t last me a month I’ll normally have 3 quarts left in my car so I rather just change the oil then to keep topping it off which can cause as much as an oil change.
