    I've been a believer for 50 plus yrs and have never heard grace explained so well. Life changing. God bless you both.

    Johns love for Jesus and God, was deep enough to endure, being boiled in oil on Patmos. It makes me wonder today, if we are hitting on that deep love God provided for grace to be given to us as a free gift, through Jesus. Thanks for your insights. The community church people I knew went over and over 1 John until Jesus was really given to them by God's grace,to abide in. His name includes His flesh and blood of His person. Being ready for testing ,and enduring, comes from abiding in Him. John 6,& 1 John.

    I was struck by the comment about Abel’s favorable animal sacrifice and Cain’s “tossed salad.” Throughout the Bible, we are told to honor God with our “first fruits.” (Prov 3:9-10) That God knows our heart (Luke 16:15) and is please when we follow him. I think the sacrifice was less about what was offered (Hosea 6:6) and more about the condition of each man’s heart (Prov 4:23). Certainly evident by how it played out in Cain’s actions against his brother...
