Beautiful song, very well done. Here's to all the broken hearts, may life be filled with sunny skies to warm your hearts and a few rainy days to wash away your tears. Cheers 🍻
I'm going through the exact same thing, brother. Your changing of "golden" to "ebony" struck chord with me. I'd be lying if I said I didn't break down when I heard that. Raise a glass for all the broken hearts out there, mine included. Be well and march on lads
My oldest son (21) sent this to me. We used to listen to a different version when he was little. He thought this was so beautiful, he wanted to share it with me.
One day at a time my friend... I have had my share of belting this song in my car on long drives blaming myself and overthinking about what could have been. Keep your head up, keep being an inspiration to those around you, and know that your time is coming my friend. Take comfort in knowing that your music has brought joy to so many around the world! Thank you for beautiful music and keeping some of us (me included) hopeful and inspired. sláinte my friend!
On Raglan road on an autumn day, I saw her first and knew, that her dark hair would weave a snare that I might someday rue. I’m sorry that fickle mistress love has treated you to this pain, and I thank you for this rendition.
When one of my friends gets married, we have a tradition of singing a special song in 4 part harmony to their partner at the reception and we sand this song to one of them. It was great! We did a bit of a slower rendition than this, but I love this too!
Come over the hills, my bonny Irish lass Come over the hills to your darling You choose the rose, love, and I'll make the vow And I'll be your true love forever Red is the rose that in yonder garden grows And fair is the lily of the valley Oh, and clear is the water that flows from the Boyne But my love is fairer than any 'Twas down by Killarney's green woods that we strayed And the moon and the stars, they were shining Oh, the moon shone its rays on her locks of ebony hair And she swore she'd by my love forever Red is the rose that in yonder garden grows And fair is the lily of the valley Oh, and clear is the water that flows from the Boyne But my love is fairer than any 'Tis not for the parting that my sister pains 'Tis not for the grief of my mother No, 'tis all for the loss of my bonny Irish lass That my heart is breaking forever Red is the rose that in yonder garden grows And fair is the lily of the valley Oh, and clear is the water that flows from the Boyne But my love is fairer than any But my love is fairer than any
No one should have to feel that pain. The pain of a heart that refuses to stop beating, even when the agony of it slowly breaking is just too much. I wouldn't wish it upon anyone; not even the man who so callously broke me. My mended heart goes out to all those still suffering. You're absolutely not alone and trust me when I say your heart will start healing, my beloved broken beings. For now, its okay to be a little bit in pieces. You'll need those broken bits when you decide you're ready to build yourself back up. Hold strong, my dear ones. You're worth more than what the lowest opinions would have you believe. ❤
What a lovely cover. Thank you for sharing your talent and heart with us, even when you might not be okay. That said, sir, I hope that you take some time for yourself, too.
A beautiful and melancholic ballad of old days past. Its tragic but love without loss is not love it all.The love that moves spirits is tragic .A lovely song the best version of this song ever sung
I feel like my heart is still breaking, and the light at the end of the tunnel keeps getting further away. Also trying to find my twin flame…just when I think I might have just done that…my hope is crushed again…in many ways this song really speaks to me, and hits me right in the heart…I may only be 23, and I know I have my whole life ahead of me. But right now, I feel like my heart is definitely breaking more every day 😔

Wow, what a beautiful interpretation. You have a great voice! I hope to hear more of the old traditional Irish folk songs from you, that I love so much
I was hoping you would cover this one! By far one of my favorites, one of those songs that's upbeat and yet almost painful to listen to. Your voice carries it beautifully.
So heartfelt! This song is so melancholy, but in an achingly beautiful way. You truly do justice to all the emotion contained within and inspired by it. Thank you for your take on it
I can see the hurt in your eyes and the sorrow in your voice. True we all go through loss in our lives, and music is always there as a comforter and healer. May God bless you and keep you through every trying time in your life. Love you brother.
This song song was still the song that my adoptive parents chose to be their love song. and even after my dads passing its still a song that pulls hard on all of our heart strings. I still sing this for my mom and every time I hear it it makes me think of them and the stories they told me of how they met and their love for each other. One of those stories that makes you think some things are just meant to be.
