    I have the SSE hi-mod. No creaking in the seat post at all so hopefully should be something that can be fixed.

      I’m planning on it! Just waiting for one to be in stock.

    I used the method o torquing to 6Nm than shaking the seat-post back and forth, then torquing to 8Nm, no creaking. The other day on a short incline I pushed really hard out of the saddle at it felt the back wheel was way too heavy, I wonder if that was the lateral stiffness issue you pointed out.

    • @utahcanyoncycling
      @utahcanyoncycling  8 месяцев назад

      Yep, that’s the correct install method. Glad you aren’t having any issues. I think the dead feeling could certainly be related to the stiffness. If you do any more testing while mine is being replaced, let me know what you discover!

    Seatpost cricking you need to use the specific carbon "gel" that is used. i had the same problem.

    • @utahcanyoncycling
      @utahcanyoncycling  8 месяцев назад

      This was not an issue more carbon gel could fix. The frame was defective and had to be replaced.

    The flex is due the the delta steerer, essentially a triangle in a round hole. Slamming it with stiffer cockpit helps

    • @utahcanyoncycling
      @utahcanyoncycling  8 месяцев назад

      I didn’t have any issues with handlebar flex, it was the bottom bracket area that was too soft for my taste.

    • @4ndyc74
      @4ndyc74 7 месяцев назад

      I've built 3 and all with noticeably flexy steerers (compared to a round steerer) so assumed that was what you were referring to. Interesting it was the bb area that yr not happy with @@utahcanyoncycling

    Perhaps the creaking IS the seat post. BUT...I have the 353s and the 454s. The rear hubs get dry and start creaking. When it first happened I suspected seat post...but it was the hub. Lubricant fixes the problem.

    • @utahcanyoncycling
      @utahcanyoncycling  5 месяцев назад +1

      Good suggestion, it definitely was the seatpost in this case. My 353s have DT hubs. I got tired of the Cognition ones haha.

    Curious what saddle bag/Garmin light Mount setup that is

    • @utahcanyoncycling
      @utahcanyoncycling  9 месяцев назад +2

      The light mount is a 3D printed piece that attaches to the Swat mounts on saddle. The saddle bag is a Speedsleev.

    A healthy does of carbon paste and the proper torque spec (8nm - higher than you expect) solved my seatpost creaking.

      Glad that worked for you! I had to warranty mine.

    Great review 👍🏼 I have sold my old SuperSix and are in the market for a new race bike. I am balance between the Lab 71, Factor OSTRO and my joker CUBE Lightning Air(6,6kg)😮 This review has just put my favorite(Lab71) behind the peloton 😰 I really appreciate the honest review! Thanks 🙏🏼 Cracking should not be an issue for a bike with this price tag. I am personal a little afraid of the new Delta steering.
    Do you have any plans for a following up review when you get your bike back? That would be great 👍🏼
    Another question. which glasses are you driving with in the video? 😎

    • @utahcanyoncycling
      @utahcanyoncycling  8 месяцев назад

      I do plan to do a follow up, just don’t when that will be, the timeline for replacement is uncertain. If you are interested in the Ostro I would wait to see what the updated bike will look like; I have heard some rumors they will update it next year.
      the glasses are Smith Bobcat with the photochromic lenses.

    How does this bike compare to the Scott Addicf RC to you ? I also have the Scott Addict RC and love it but I’m thinking to try something different in the new year . Curious on your thoughts. Thanks !

    • @utahcanyoncycling
      @utahcanyoncycling  7 месяцев назад +1

      In my opinion the Scott is the better bike. The Cannondale is a bit more aerodynamic on the flat roads, but overall I prefer the Addict.

    • @duffyrides
      @duffyrides 7 месяцев назад

      @@utahcanyoncycling wow that’s interesting ! I was about to sell my Scott as I’m looking for a change. Now you have me wondering. Did you keep the Scott or what is your main bike now ?

    • @utahcanyoncycling
      @utahcanyoncycling  7 месяцев назад

      Unfortunately, I crashed the Scott so I’m currently riding as S5 and SL8. The S5 is quick but stiff. The SL8 is very well balanced. Also, I think the Addict is due to be updated next year.

    • @duffyrides
      @duffyrides 7 месяцев назад

      @@utahcanyoncycling sorry to hear that about the Scott! Yes the Scott should be due an update in 2024 but who knows when. I’ve also been looking at the SL8 as a potential option, you are right in that Specialized really seem to have a balanced package. I did a review comparing the SL7 to Scott Addict RC on my channel, it’s really a toss up between the two bikes for me, I think the SL7 is slightly better at maintaining speed on the flats and also has slightly better bump compliance but that’s just what I feel. The Scott is still my go to bike for now.

    Yes, great bike. I’m getting a cheaper version. Finger’s crossed that my seatpost doesn’t creak.

    • @dorohmc
      @dorohmc 6 месяцев назад

      I’m also 185cm and between the Sizes 56 and 58. I’m concerned the 20mm less stack on the 56 would make it uncomfortable as I’m coming from an endurance geo bike. Any feedback from your experience. I have normal proportions, legs, arms and torso. Thank you

    • @utahcanyoncycling
      @utahcanyoncycling  5 месяцев назад

      @@dorohmc I would take a look at the reach figures. The 58 will have a higher stack but it could have a reach that is too long, or it could be perfect. If in doubt it’s always worth seeing a bike fitter first.

    • @dorohmc
      @dorohmc 5 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the advice. I have checked the reach and the 58 is 8mm longer reach from my previous bike. This is of course not playing with saddle fore/aft. The shop where I’m considering also said they have 100mm stem in stock and no issues to swap since this model uses separate bar-stem. As you suggest, I’ll have a the advice of a fitter to see which option is the best for my body. Thanks again
