Heey Yannick, when is it good to put the side chain above everything in the mix and when is it good to put the side chain as the last plugin in the mix ?
Guess its about signal flow! He always cut it off being the last instance in the mix chain. Guess EQ->Comp->Rev->Delay->Kickstart. No rules, but it seems logical. If you sidechain first then its only the raw signal and the sidechaines sound will still have reverb/delay decay and tail on it and bleed into it! My theory...
the 1 thing that ruined this video is you had the audience watch an hour long video... YET we didn't get to hear the full track... I WANNA HEAR THE FULL TRACK LOL... let us hear the full track, its a great tech house track!!
I'm not looking to produce tech house or minimal but just listening and watching his tutorial is giving me all the fundamentals I need for hard techo/schranz, makes it look so easy
I have been waiting so long for a good video where making tech house gets explainded. I just found out about this video and I am already excited. Thanks for making this!!
I’d literally pay you to make a 1hr video of how to make Melbourne Minimal start to finish on FL Studio. I can even provide sample packs if you’d be keen.
Hey man, started making some music on fl studio about a week ago, and your videos have been amazing for learning stuff. I was wondering if you could do a future house song like don diablo or Oliver heldens in under an hour
That was awesome.. I watched the whole video and I'm ready to play ... I love House music like Lane 8 style ... Hope you make a video on that. But this is very well done as well. Amazing!!
Thanks for this! It took me more than an hour just to find a vocal sample I wanted to use, but otherwise this got me through a (quite different) house track. Big ups
Heey Yannick, when is it good to put the side chain above everything in the mix and when is it good to put the side chain as the last plugin in the mix ?
Depends on how prominent you want it to be. Let's say you put a delay after it, the delay won't be sidechained. If you put a regular compressor afterwards, it can bring the part that you first compressed down with the sidechaining back up. So I'd put any dynamics processing (gate, compressor, expander, transient shaper etc) before a sidechain. Whether you want a reverb or so to be after it can be your decision, just make sure it doesn't negate the effect or create unwanted artifacts (reverberation of the ducking effect).
Let us know if you would like to see more 1 hour videos like these! 🚀
Please make more videos like these but I would like to see melodic/house vibes.

You're a really talented producer dude. I watched your techno tutorial the other night and it was brilliant.
Incredible tutorial. One of the best I've seen.
simple, straight to the point and soooo good!
It is hard sometimes to find tutorials for techhouse that are made on fl AND that sound as good as this at the end. But you guys did an amazing job!
Check out ART55, he uses FL and makes electronic music
This has to be the best how to tech house video on youtube right now!!! Love your teaching style just found you and subscribed. Keep it coming!

I'm here for FL Studio based videos of any type. Making a crazy beat from scratch, mixing, mastering sound design with native plugins to name few
