I remember liking the score and some of the performances, but the show with a book loosely stolen from "They Shoot Horses, Don't They" just didn't work.
I really hate how promo reels were filmed during this time. All these angles and filters that give you absolutely no sense of what the production looked like or how it would feel to watch it. This isn't a TV movie, shoot it like a stage show.
Nice show. Saw it when it was in previews in 1997...good score but the juxtaposition of the very real sadness of the depression and the dance marathons with the quite frankly ridiculous and unintelligible paranormal story was jarring....

Never came together. Needed much editing and the whole enterprise just dwindled into nothing and faded away. A misfire.
