Works if you had to cut a strap in half. My racket strap got fucked up so I couldn't loosen and had to cut, this video helped me salvage the strap so I didn't have to throw it away!
Thanks for the video. I learned this knot in the US Army Mountaineering school back in 2009 and was trying to do it today, but couldn't quite remember how it was done. Thanks!
People please think twice before using this knot. The Deutscher Alpenverein (DAV) have documanted 20 fatalities conecred with the use of this knot. It can come undone even under tension when moving over formations.
I learned that nylon slings lose 40% of strength when you tie an overhand knot in them due to the increase in friction at the point of the knot which heats up the sling, potentially above the melting point. Is this not true for a water knot? If not, why not?

Thank you. A quick clear tutorial. Exactly what we needed! 😀
This video is perfect. Great info and no nonsense. 👌🏻
Would a double overhand knot be as reliable and secure?
Can you tie the water knot with different sized webbings? (can you tie a 1" webbing to a 1.5" webbing using a water knot?)

Thxmuch
Thank you 👍
No one ever says what the knot is used for or provides further info. Is there some unspoken code that forbids this or what? 😅
Thank you for showing me how to tie this knot..
Can I do this for an emergency hasty harness?

thanks helped me a lot
Please told me What is the name of this tool?
Thanks for the tutorial. Does 10cm of tail seem like overkill to anyone else though? Curious how much tail is really needed

What is the name of this tool??
No matter what I do, the loop ends up twisted. I cant figure out what I'm doing wrong.
Please don't use this knot for climbing until you watch this vid warning against it's use: ruclips.net/video/mXe-8GmS08k/видео.html
At the end, you recommend stitching the ends..... If you're going to sitch them, why tie a knot and lose half it's strength?? Lol
