What you're avoiding to mention is that The USSR was invited to the Berlin Conference but they were not interested in the partitioning of Africa. Compared to the other European powers, Russia is the farthest away from Africa, so colonizing Africa was impossible for them. Instead, they colonized many other places like Siberia, Central Asia and even Alaska (which they sold to the US). Also, Russia doesn't really need to exploit African resources, since it has much more resources than the rest of Europe combined (cough Siberia). Plus, Russia wasn't really better than the other European powers at treating its colonies (Circassian genocide, Central Asian revolt of 1916, etc.).

Russia has colonies and colonial interests... which is east Russia. There were very few Russians in eastern Russia, they took a long time to subjugate the native Siberians. You can see the politics of this play out in their war against Ukraine, where they disproportionately recruit conscripts from outside of Moscow to serve as cannon fodder.

All of Europe and Asia had those images known as Byzantine Iconography which were symbols of the Orthodox Christian Church. The Western church which became known as the Catholics following the splitting of the church in to Eastern and Western when Emperor Constantine moved his capital from Rome to Constantinople (Turkey) and Rome becoming the centre of the Western church chose to change those images from black to white for political reasons sometime in the 16th century.
The Greeks speared no details in establishing the fact that their foundation came from Africa which was transmitted to Rome upon its conquest. Russia being of the Eastern Orthodox Christian faith retained the original Iconography which is why they can be displayed today.
