The money is irrelevant, it will be like pennies in a decade. The passion, capability, and awareness to have such fidelity is worth more than any currency.

@PearbabyREAL yeaup and those who think they find the best or one true mic really don't know what's up. Masters understand nuance and the need to go beyond. GT7 mic recordings are the same and many armchair clowns pop poo it, but the fidelity and accuracy is unmatched.
A truly masterful pinnacle of art and technology synthesis. Incredible passion enhanced with engineering excellence. So many mics, reminds me of the Gran Turismo 7 passion for capturing the soul of audio nuance.
Superb video, thank you so much for this! They must have had a lot of fun, its wonderful to see all the pictures of the studios and all the background info- thanks for all the research :)
I don’t understand all the hate for the album here in this comment section. It’s one of my favourite albums of all time and I really learned a lot of new stuff from your video and really appreciate you sharing your really well made video! Keep it up!
Can we get a video or two about some early Genesis? Foxtrot sounds really good, as well as selling England by the pound sounds really good too. Both great sounding albums sonically. Very dynamic, the music breathes nicely. I would love to know how they did it.
Most likely the MK4 I would think. Incidently, I bought a pair of CMC4's a few years back thinking they were both with MK4 but one was a MK4s (for proximity recording) so far less sensitivity. Definitely not the same 😞
this album should be release in SACD Audiophile format, original CD is not good because of the loudness war. Luckily, I have original leaked master tapes in DSD format. That version is the best.
it's a shame that after all that amazing idea the songs aren't up there. it's quite funny that the best track [panda bear's] almost sounds like coming out of a clever kid laptop 15 years ago. the whole thing lacks soul and imho is the worst DP album.
A million bucks for an album 'written' by dudes who did not study music? Top world class players that can't play in tune or in time? 280 tracks for a track that sounds like an ambitious student mid term exam scoring a c- ? I have listened to Up all Night and the bass is way too heavy and muddy, the kick drum is undefined and is mixed badly, the guitars are bland and with sloppy playing.... Wow, I could have sworn that most 70s' artists' abilities, technical and musical were far beyond what these two helmets portrayed them to be.
@@sonnybwoi Who said I'm promoting my music shitbag, not me shitstain, I'm here talking about how this album sucks. Are you ACTUALLY suggesting that it doesn't?????????
Such a special album. You just don’t come across that attention to detail and sonic experience in modern albums. Bring life back to music!
4 mics on the kick is awesome - a D112, sony c500, u47 FET and NS10 subkick. probably $15k+ on just one drum is crazy.
Sure is! I suppose if you have the budget though..

Great video, I never really listened to Daft Punk other than casually on the radio. Might be worth a listen 🤙
Thank you! Definitely worth a listen 👍

Well that explains why it sounded so damn good.
I think Motherboard is a great sounding instrumental with all the percussive elements you can clearly hear all those bits.
Thanks! Amazing infos! (Jupiter 8, not 6..)
Thank you!
Schoeps CMC5U is the mic preamp. The capsule is in addition, e.g. MK4 or?. Thanks for all the insights.

Who owns Electric Lady now?
‘From Wiki ..After years of financial hardship, the studio was taken over by investor Keith Stoltz and studio manager Lee Foster in 2010.

Panda bear's song is the only one I think should have been scrapped from the album. It's the only weak one.

overrated album, even from tech. side perfect

The most disappointing album of all time. An absolute garbage pile of a record and the production isn’t even good. Glad I didnt pay for it

How all that for that boring ass album that no one wants to listen to

Anything on Rammstein albums like "Mutter"?
