D&D (the 2 writers) were offered to do more seasons by HBO, but they denied it because they wanted to hurry and finish the show to head over to Star Wars. They were offered to do Star Wars by Disney. So, they wanted that "Disney Money" so bad, they totally rushed everything. George R.R. Martin (Creator of the books) was also disappointed in where they took the show. This show started falling once D&D ran out of material from George, which is after season 4.
I keep hearing GRRM was disappointed (and I absolutely believe it) but where does he say it? I want to HEAR/SEE him say it. I need that satisfaction of the CREATOR even not liking it.
Right?! They should have stepped down from GOT instead of giving us a shit season and an even shittier series finale. The series should have handed over to new writers who had the time to finish strong. When David said that Daenerys forgot about the iron fleet when she and Varys mention the fleet several times was so dumb.
@@strawberriesncandii I understand your pain. I'm sure 90% of the fans do, as well. What could've been "The Perfect Show" has downgraded to "The Hugest Letdown".
The best thing about GoT is the hour long conversations you have with friends discussing theories and things that have happened and will happen. Love it!
Why does everyone hate it? Its awesome, I hate when shows or movies make the ending to predictable Everyone wanted to see a happy ending, this ending was unexpected and I like it tbh There are no good sides, everyone in the show is a asshole who wants power and this ending showed just that lol Except for mabye Jon, he just wants some of that Dragon queen ass
@@harambey There comes a point where unpredictability becomes predictable. A show where the appeal is to see who dies next or what stupid plot twist is next loses its appeal very quickly if there's nothing more to it, especially when you watch it again.
@@harambey Doing things out of character is surprising but not in the way you appreciate. Instead of "wow, I totally didn't see that coming" it leaves a "WTF! THAT'S BULLSHIT!".
@@harambey There's a big difference between being unpredictable and pulling things out of your ass that make absolutely zero sense. The visuals have been great this season, yes, but when you sit down and think "What happened?", 90% of it doesn't add up. Characters who we've known for 7 seasons go out of character. They cross into other story lines that they have no business being in. There's prophecies and things that were slowly built up, then completely abandoned.
nah but samwell was the one who discovered that dragonglass could kill a white walker and that there was a huge ass pile of dragonglass at dragonstone and cured jorah and discover jon's real lineage
My favorite thing is that Jerome Flynn records sleep stories for the Calm app (it’s on RUclips, too). So every night I fall asleep listening to Ser Bronn from Blackwater talking about the magic of the cliffs of New Zealand. 🌿
I don't know a single person who is enjoying this final season. Rushed, horrible writing, battle at Winterfell deserved at least two episodes at most a whole season, same for the battle at KL, hyping up NK only to kill him off this easily, killing off dragons just to even it out, characters acting out of character, characters forgetting about the Iron fleet, Jon being useless, Bran bring useless, Cersei being dumb as shit not willing to escape, the horrible Mad Queen buildup, etc
@Kaitlin Oetting most people are not complaining about how the characters met their end at the end but how it was executed, GRRM will probably write this characters end the same way, but he even wanted more than 10 seasons to flesh out how they will end up where they did.
Cercei had a body double for the Shame scene cause she was pregnant. They used the body double to get around having to explain a baby bump when there wasnt suppose to be one.
On your thoughts on Sam, not everyone has to be a warrior to be useful. He is actually true to his character from the beginning. He was in Castle Black because his dad is a dick and sent him there to be more manly. He is a book nerd. It would have been a stretch to have him become this badass fighter. He was instrumental on learning about dragon glass and to confirm and tell Jon about his birthright.
The book version of the red wedding is EVEN MORE BRUTAL. They actually cut Robbs head off, killed his wolf, and stitched his HEAD ONTO THE DEAD BODY OF THE WOLF. The books are much more brutal, if you can even imagine that.
they pretty much did that in the show...except reversed. they stitched his wolf's head onto robb's body not sure how you didn't catch that. right before sandor knocks arya out you can see
That's a ton of work just to recruit some chick from Westeros by the faceless men. They gotta kill the 1st sword of bravos, send him to Westeros, then jagen hagar get caught on purpose and almost gets flamed in a cage. Then hopes she uses the coin to get to bravos. Nah, I dont think so.
I don't really blame D&D for this last season and S7 because they didn't sign up to write an original script or show. If you look back at the press release for the first season they pitched ADAPTING the books into a show and each season being one of the books. But we all know what happened George R.R. Martin couldn't finish one damn book in the span of FUCKING 10 years. This man had ten years from the first season alone and more in total to finish 1 of 2 books. D&D had nothing concrete to draw on or adapt besides the inner workings of the mind of a man who frequently goes on tangents in his writing, no matter if he told them the endings, they were deprived of the middle and scenes to draw upon. So they essentially made up their own story, 100% the books won't follow the show close at all even if they will probably end the same way.GRRM failing them doesn't excuse the poor pacing and lack of development what so ever, but the writing was still good though. People that say the writing was bad are just angry the show didn't turn out of live up to the crazy expectations everyone put on it. The dialogue was still top notch.

“[the show] was so slow, so many characters”
Lol the book has like twice as many characters and twice as much information you go through
Attack on Titan is having a way better season than Game of Thrones. I would really recommend watching that.
Season 8 is a dumpster fire
Yeah, they pulled a Lost/Dexter move. Atleast now I won't miss it as much when it's officially gone.

Yo David are you gonna keep making vlogs? Really enjoyed the Japanese ones you made a few years back! But loving the podcast to!

Guilty ✋
"I read the first book".....30 seconds later......"why the fuck are there so many characters?"....ugh he's such a liar

Tbh I don't watch games of thrones. But I watched a bit for natalie dormer tho.
They're going to be so pissed when they find out who became King. Hahahaha.
Yo, Bran being evil and meeting up with the Night King... That's an interesting one, I haven't heard of that before.
is this show still worth going into knowing that the end is probably gonna end up shit like everyone's been saying
yes! Because once you enter the world of Game of Thrones nothing can compare to the journey even if the ending did not meet expectations
Have they talked about the last episode yet?
hey. not all of your podcasts are on spotify :( some are missed
The last few episodes were rushed... writers didn't do half as much as the crew did. ugh.
The interviews they did about the final season says it all.
The cgi was so obvious during the walk of shame. It looked very off.
How did the Big Bang theory ending trump Game Of Thrones? How?
This thumbnail is everything

Sorry but quit playing with the mic sir 🤦♂️
