how tall is it vs how tall the roof of the truck is from the base of the bed? I'm deciding on installing a bed rack and wondering if this will work with it.

No problem! Measured and it was about 6’11” to the inside of the extender

it rises about a foot above the bed rails when flipping. if your rack is as tall as the roof it won't have a problem clearing
