Thanks for showing the Ultramatte skin, as most videos only show the standard gloss finish, and this is hands down the better product for my taste. Just found out about these "Tear Down" skins, and wanted to get some for my not yet shipped Steam Deck, and after watching your video, the matte is exactly what I was hoping for.
This convinced me to: - buy this skin as the ultramatte looks great - check out your other videos because this one was great - subscribe to you because your other videos are also awesome Thanks for sharing!
I love that dbrand puts easter eggs on their teardown skins. btw, right above the battery you missed another 11 11 and ILLUMIN471 "etched" into the PCB. also the JRE on the vibration motor in the bottom right standing for JerryRigEverything (I guess, at least its not on there when JRE opened it up) and there are still more easter eggs on there :)
That's actually why I made the video! I came on RUclips trying to find a video about the matte version of the skin but couldn't find one. So I thought others might be in a similar situation and decided to make on myself. Now that you've watched the video, do you think you'll go with the matte skin or buy the glossy one instead?
Yeah, that's a solid point! I didn't realize that when I was recording this video. But by the time I had done the next video in the series (ruclips.net/video/yG1Wmv3J0_c/видео.html), I figured it out and fixed the corners. (It's around the 3:40 mark)
Good question! This is obviously down to personal taste, but I really like the matte finish on this dbrand skin. It doesn't pick up fingerprints and it feels smooth in the hand. I don't think it feels cheap, but it can be a bit slippery (which is why I use a case).
That sounds like a great combo. Let me know what you think when you've applied the skin and case! I was thinking of getting a grip case as well but I decided to go with a transparent Spigen case so I could see the back and get a sort of glossy/glass effect on the skin.

I think ultramatte definitely looks better than the original gloss. The gloss somehow made it look cheap. Looking forward to picking one up for my XR!

You're suppose to heat up the edges/corners with a hair dryer and smooth them out with the included microfiber. This will soften and smooth them out
