@Jay lol paid stuff have an email for the same access, files can be transferred by USB or OneDrive or even on a chat or just use airdrop you have many ways to transfer them into your new PC

Thank you! You were right, OneDrive became my default without me knowing it. My Desktop was now in OneDrive so I made another folder and put everything in there. Also, I made a copy of everything and put it on my exernal hard drive in case my computer got messed up. I now am free of OneDrive. Yay!!!

I'd uninstall OneDrive, it's no longer listed in the apps but if I connected my cellphone or something like else OneDrive starts and wants to go in action. It's still in the explorer. How can I get it 100% away from my PC?
What if onedrive has access to my desktop and documents and etc, what do I do then? do I drag the desktop onto my desktop? how will that work?
When I attempt to copy the files over to the desktop I keep getting error messages saying it can't be done because the cloud file provider is not running. now what?

the cloud means that they are saved in onedrive.

weird. i dont have onedrive in my programs. but my desktop, documents, all still have onedrive in the name. And I can't delete the actual 'OneDrive' under my User, because it says its still in use somewhere.

It is not that simple, all user folders such as desktop etc still reside in onedrive even on deletions.

I uninstalled onedrive and it's not on my computer, but I can't open a new word doc without it popping to onedrive. The only way I can start a new word doc is from a previous word doc. Any suggestions?

This didn't work for me. It keeps coming back, and it's not in programs, or down in the taskbar. The folder looks like a normal folder now.
I unlinked my computer, told it to stop syncing, everything I could find how to stop it.

Hi, I had the same issue as well. I referred to the answer in the link below and it helped me to import my OneDrive Desktop into an actual local Desktop folder. I didn't uninstall OneDrive, but I would think that importing your Desktop first, before uninstalling OneDrive would do the trick.

if you did any of these steps out of order, you might actually have to re-install one drive to uninstall it completely :/

I lost several important files when I deleted this, I didn't realise One Drive was active. Even now after uninstalling it I'm still having problems. When I install a new program it creates a one drive folder and defaults all of the save\load features to it and more. May have to re-install it and delete it again! It may be the same as One Note and reinstalls itself on every upgrade have deleted one note after every upgrade so far.

You might be able to get your files back if you had File History turned on.
I'm getting a 0x80070091 error. I've uninstalled 1 drive from my computer but it wont let me get rid of that folder
nvm I fixed it by redownloading onedrive and when I got that error again, I would go inside the folder and delete the files within the folder, then go back to the parent folder (onedrive), deleted it and then it worked.

- I assume that by following these instructions that the files on my computer will not be deleted. Is that correct?
- Now I want to reinstall OneDrive and be selective of the files I sync to OneDrive rather than having all the files from my computer on OneDrive. Is there anything I need to know in order to do that?

I had 2 laptops one for important work and one for gaming use, i had to reset my gaming laptop and restored all my files but when I reopen my working laptop it deleted everything because one drive sync everything I got so pissed at one drive for that and never used it again

The popularity of OneDrive ! Everything always syncing without you knowing, what folders can sync. If I could get only one folder to sync that would be okay.

If you want to get rid of all filles you shared to one drive you need to visit onedrive website and delete them.

Yeah because it's a default application of Microsoft Windows, but the reamining and "needing more space" is gone. So that's pretty good so far
