Higher end Sony and JVC were a fairly good bet for image quality, but by this time all units will have issues. For those who love mechanical complexity and mechanical miniaturization, look at a late 2000s camcorder using Hi8 video tapes. Those cameras were both a filming camera and a VCR with recording and playback. It was the last evolution of the video tape technology.
Hello, @technologywins ! I think your VCR Schneider SVC562RC is from 1988-1989. It has a Charly mechanic deck, which is Philips related. But the brand (Schneider) is not the french brand, but the German one, Schneider Electric which is relates with DUAL. And this brand uses rebranded Philips original devices. I own several ones : Quelle, Universum, Dual, Marantz even Pioneer with a Charly mechanic deck and sometimes a modified electronic system with special remote codes (for example for Pioneer VCRs). In opposition, your 1987 Philips VCR hasn't got a philips mechanic inside, maybe a Panasonic, not sure. And the Grundig (in France it is Philips made) seems like a rebranded AKAI. In france, they made VCR with Philips (1983-1987) as they made also V2000 machines until the demise of this cassette format. From 1987 to 1992/3 they used Panasonic D G and H mechanic, to use the Philips Turbo Drive mecha from 92/93 One question, your VCR seem to be europeans, do they?
You want another one? An early robust model with one of the early digital (rotary trim pot under the top cover) tuners in it. Used to work amazing a few years ago, but last time I tried it had picture issues.
Grundig GVP-500R My older brother has such a tape recorder. From 1995 to 2023, not a single breakdown. Reliable as Thor's Hammer 💪😊For an inexpensive video player it has amazing still frame. Hyundai inter-2020 Interesting operation of the tape drive mechanism. When rewinding or rewinding the film, it moves the film completely away from the video head unit 😮
Where are you from? Its rather curious, all of them are low or mid range, most of them multisystem, and none is hi-fi stereo….. Middle East? Eastern Europe?
I do not mind.. I grew up with Video 2000 system from Philips,,recording saturday morning cartoons. Later when living on my own i bought my first VCR VHS. I still have this one even it is not working anymore. It is just a fantastic very heavy machine. Later i bought a stereo recorder. Not so long ago found an older machine made by Akai,,this one is also heavy. Two years back i found a Mitsubishi from the nineties i think. The machines are not in use but i am planning too because i have a lot of cassettes to play
I don’t know why, and I find it to be such a shame. Why don’t all hi fi VCR’s include VU adjustable input audio meters, and include a lousy headphone jack? Even the cheapest cassette decks have these. That would make these VCR’s so much more fun and versatile!
@@VintageAudioTech hi, yes im a professional e-commerce and wedding photographer so i want to buy VCR for converting some old VHS. thanks for replying.
Yes. This is a cool VCR. It was produced during a time of transition for the company when it changed its name from Goldstar to LG. Some people had this VCR that said Goldstar.
In my recent video "3 new VCRs" I also showed JVC, it is also small. When I compared grundig and JVC, it turned out that JVC is 1 centimeter smaller. I think JVC made this player for grundig or vice versa (or maybe it’s the same thing, under different brands).

I'm from Ukraine. I don't buy Hi-Fi versions because they are expensive..
I tried to show all the VCRs. Apparently they had to be shown from old to new? I screwed up. I didn't edit this video correctly.

У самого Panasonic P04, простой и неубиваемый аппарат, до сих пор работает.
