I think cleaning the mode switch might fix this one. I have belts for the main drive, but it would be a long ways to ship you one. Of interest: Funai was the last company to make VCRs. They made them for several different brands including Philips, Magnavox, Symphonic and others.

Seems like this VCR really is very faulty and doesn't work well🤣🤣 despite all tries to make it work, it *still* won't perfectly work for some reason. Looks like there's some serious malfunctions going on. Might well be the faultiest VCR you've shown on this channel 🤣 /nm. The VCR also has a pretty atypical structure from all the basic majority of 1980s/1990s VCRs. Nice of you to also include a short promotion clip of your other platforms you are on in English (at 3:30), another new thing on your channel! And about the condom 😂😂😂😂😂 seriously didn't know that such a thing can also be efficiently used as a replacement for a VCR drive belt. Yet another funny new tip I honestly was unaware of. Thank you! 😊 When I bought this VCR, the seller's description said "drive belts need replacing" and then I remembered... hmm.. once and somewhere in some videos I saw that as a temporary measure they use a rubber band from a condom and why shouldn't I check it out? I prepared in advance and bought these things for the experiment in this video. 😅😅😅

Nice pink denim shorts you're wearing and a very good retro video cassette player unboxing video dear Natalie. The sound from timestamp 5:34 to 5:41 sounds like an angle grinder that is grinding steel bars or plates.
You seem to be missing one belt here. There is supposed to be a flat one that goes between the motor where the one you swapped out attaches to and the large flywheel. It can't work properly without it since it is there to drive the pinch roller which is what moves the tape during playback. If you look up pictures of other VCRs using this mechanism you should be able to see what it looks like - this mechanism and design was used in a lot of vcrs from around 1990 made by funai/shintom sold under many brands. Interesting trick to use a condom as a belt though...
I looked at the photos of this mechanism. Indeed, I saw another belt there. It is wide. Different from the others. I will try to find one like this. Thanks for the tip. 👍👍
I’ve worked on so many vcr’s and other equipment over the last decades, but using a condom for a belt is totally new to me😅 so well done! Btw I could not buy you a coffee from the Netherlands (PayPal worked out luckily)

If you don't have a Wii console, no problem! You can emulate Wii games with a Dolphin emulator. Dolphin emulator can play Game Cube games as well!
