It's not the first time we've seen a player refuse to go to a team they're drafted by, Dominique refused to play in Utah so he was traded to Atlanta and Steve Francis refused to play in Canada then was traded to Houston. Kobe isn't stupid, he knows he'll win FA in New Jersey and Charlotte. He'd be in a far better situation in LA and he clearly made the right decision and I don't blame him.

That Nets team was never really good. At that time, being champion of the East didn't mean anything, there were about 4 or 5 teams in the West capable of beating any team in the East, like Dallas, Lakers, Spurs and the Sacramento Kings. That Nets team was never really good.
