You can land just outside the Commons dome and walk right in and avoid having to take the tube from the spaceport which saves much time when doing trading runs and is a workaround for the no hangar indicator not showing up. The Commons dome is located on the left branch of the tube coming from the spaceport in an aerial view from your ship with the spaceport behind you.
great vid. They really need to increase the profit margins for cargo hauling. You can do a bunker mission (when working) in about 10 mins low risk and get 15k or a no QT box mission in about 15 for 20k and you haven't risked 100k + of your own cash for the duration. Too much risk currently for the result. If they finally implemented cargo runs with that profit where you were just hauling a companies goods like how irl trucks and cargo ships work then it would be fine (that is also a gameplay they said they would do). But profit margins while doing stock speculation have to be much higher than currently
18:06 slightly different but the hotkey for requesting to land has been a lifesaver (literally), I recently got into SC as a friend had it and I opted for the Avenger Titan starter, all nice and well until I found that the main panel for menu and coms is right under the "Exit ship" inner thoughts button, now in a bigger ship this might be fine but with the Titan you open your canopy and yeet out of your ship, I have now done this twice before finding you can bind a button to request landing
Got the avenger titan as well, and yeah I see your point, haven’t done it before as I haven’t tried to rush but it is definitely something that will probably happen to me at some point.
@@UncleBenjs yeah I made a post on Reddit asking as it had happened twice, thankfully nothing major was lost. But the first comment said mobiglass was the way prior to adding the hail landing button

17:52 In my experience to avoid the problem you have to go super close and only then call for landing. If you start calling from afar most of the times the marker won't show.
The Raft is such a cool ship. I just suck at flying it. More than once I landed upside down in a hangar. And I accidentally landed on a building next to a hangar on Area 18 and got a crime status because I couldn't take off.
I don't even know what you just said but I was laughing my ass off at the 'crime status'. I just waiting for my download to complete and I'll be building laughs in-game myself. See you there! o7
A workaround do the landing issue (no indicator) is pretty simple. Just fly close enough, request landing and fly into the first doors that open afterwards. It's usually your landing bay so you can see it. Ii usually call for landing at Nb at around 4km from the spaceport so I can see which hanger opens
The Raft’s profit is ok. It outcompetes the Cutlass Black & base Freelancer for cargo capacity. It will shine once the cargo refactor comes into the PU. The three 32 SCU containers will be easy and quick to load/unload allowing you to do more runs. The RAFT comfortably holds two players without skimping on any amenities. I will be interested to see how the RAFTs role changes when the Hull B is implemented.
the cargo refactor i think is where this will start to shine, however it does need to be brought up to gold standard first. love the RAFT nice little Cargo runner
It's hard to tell but if you look at all the gear around the containers it almost looks like it's designed to be expanded. I'm hoping the Hull series tech is used in some way on the Raft

I think the upper support station will be where you manage cargo loading. The raft is supposed to take advantage of modular cargo containers, if I remember correctly.
The RAFT carries less cargo than similar sized ships. The benefit is those detachable cargo crates, you might choose this ship over other similar ones because loading/unloading will be much faster in certain circumstances.
It carries more than the Cutlass Black and standard Freelancer and matches the Constellation Andromeda & Aquila. The only ships that beat the RAFT (with a similar price) is the Hull B & Freelancer Max both of which have their own upsides/downsides. I think it sits in a pretty balanced position and will be a really good value once Caro Refactor comes on.

When I sell at micro tech I just take another ship over to the commons instead of taking the train. You can just follow the train tube over to the circular buildings which are the commons. Cause sometimes the trains break.
I just bought the Raft today. Little disappointed about the bugginess. The lift only worked when called from the outside. I couldn't even use it to get out of the ship. So I had to use the airlock door to exit the ship. But then that broke, and I ended up stuck on the ship on a landing pad.
The new babbich not being able to land is a straight pain. I can't do deliveries to n.b. because I always grab the wrong one and they take the ship with the packages

Btw you also have access to the ship components like the shield, power generators etc. you were just walking past them lol i think in the next patch or two we’ll be able to swap those ship parts out 😍👌
You can mitigate the risk of getting the "no marker" bug by flying literally to the doorstep of the spaceport and requesting landing permission when you are hovering infront of it. If you are up close you usually get the marker
This is just secondhand information as opposed to my own experience, but it's recommended that you _DON'T_ land on the actual landing pads at the mining outposts and to instead land on the terrain next to the outposts. Apparently landing on the pads can cause the outpost to store your ship, which is a problem due to not being able to spawn your ship back at the outposts. This will not only strand you but will also render any cargo inside the ship permanently lost since you will have no option but to claim it.
I kind of laughed when no sooner Olli says "open up menu and phone" that the MFD popped open the comms. You literally just click on the little wifi symbol on the display. No need for a hotkey or mobiglass.
i found out that you need to get quite close to the spaceports landing pads before requesting permission. if you're close enough youll get the landing marker. but yes. its a bit annoying =)
1 tip for easier navigation with the current iteration of the starmap that's really showing its age is to: 1) set a route to your destination 2) when you engage quantum drive, only the destination (or the waypoints leading to it) will show up, so you don't have to look for them 3) after the final jump you'll want to go back to the starmap and just hit the "set route" button again. Because the destination is still picked from before, the route will come back up and this time the desination hexagon on your HUD will be permanently visible. It won't show you the distance, though, but it shouldn't be far
Yea don’t request landing till you get close enough to see the doors open, then you won’t have to worry so much about finding the right one since it usually be the one that opens up immediately after the request.
You can land just outside the Commons dome and walk right in and avoid having to take the tube from the spaceport which saves much time when doing trading runs and is a workaround for the no hangar indicator not showing up. i found out that you need to get quite close to the spaceports landing pads before requesting permission. if you're close enough youll get the landing marker. but yes. its a bit annoying =)
I’m so OCD I would steal your ship just to get it more square on the landing pad. LOL
I love this, im so jealous of everything you have!
What helmet is that?! It looks so cool!!!
I wish I can get this game put I’m broke I got no money but I love you seeing your vids it makes me happy 😃
1 tip for easier navigation with the current iteration of the starmap that's really showing its age is to:
1) set a route to your destination
2) when you engage quantum drive, only the destination (or the waypoints leading to it) will show up, so you don't have to look for them
3) after the final jump you'll want to go back to the starmap and just hit the "set route" button again. Because the destination is still picked from before, the route will come back up and this time the desination hexagon on your HUD will be permanently visible. It won't show you the distance, though, but it shouldn't be far
how do you play without constant fps issues?
Thats hilarious and awesome!
Yea don’t request landing till you get close enough to see the doors open, then you won’t have to worry so much about finding the right one since it usually be the one that opens up immediately after the request.
You have to see RafTron it's a Raft based Mecha like Voltron.
