You might really enjoy a story driven investigation call, "P.I. Wanted". You can pick it up around Crusader and it has multiple endings depending on what you turn in from the investigation. Parking at the commons to sell is a time saver indeed at New Babbage. There is even a large landing pad behind the domes that no one ever uses. I usually park there in my Carrack and then drive the short distance to the commons garage in the rover but even on foot it is like a 40 second jog from the pad to the commons planetary entrance.
I'd say in future those missions will become quite valuable if you can salvage the wrecks with the reclaimer. Great content as always man. Your videos actualy convinced me to jump into the verse and i've had nothing but fun since so keep up the good work.
one thing that helps to do is orient yourself using your ship, but to take a cue from ender's game: "The Enemy Gate Is Down." During EVA, imagine there's a ray line being cast from your ship through the center of the derelict. Define that line as pointing "DOWN". Farther from your ship is going "down" into the wreck, and you go back "up" to your ship. You need at least ONE MORE point of reference for best effect: the nearest gravity well. With your ship's prow still pointed at the derelict, roll until you can see the planet or moon the wreck is orbiting when you look up. Then you can subdivide the space of the wreck for search efficiency: North, South, East, and West correspond, respectively, to your ship's Dorsal, Ventral, Starboard, and Port. If you do that, then while on EVA, the planet/moon is always north. Each time you find a body or a cargo crate, look at the moon/planet (NORTH) and roll until your ship is above you (as it should be). Note how many meters deep you are from the ship. If the derelict is behind you and to your right and your ship is 80 meters away, you now know that you'll be able to find that object again if you go 80m 'deep' in the 'northwest' quadrant.
E.V.A. - Help for you...! Never steer and move at the same time that leads to exactly what you described @18:30 just look in the direction where you want to go, THEN move in that direction and against the "motion sickness" helps to align yourself with the "grid" as if gravity were there. simply said ground is down "ALWAYS"!!!!!! this helps especially in the Starfarer with such missions, you should get used to floating through the ship like you do when you walk
If you want to take on cargo specifically those single SCU boxes from derelict ships, you should grab yourself a Greycat Multitool with a Tractor Beam Attachment. It'll allow you to move those boxes faster from place to place and will also let you grab on to bigger objects in space (ship hulls for example) and pull yourself towards them. This will be especially important once EVA tier 2 is released, since you'll only have a limited amount of EVA fuel at that point. And the bug with your gone body comes from you accidentally clicking "equip" on the selection of the body you found. You can see that the body was unrobed after you bumped around.
hey olli, if you pick up a multi tool with the tractor beam attachment you can get the cargo way easier back to your ship, and you can stop them from drifting as well, works on dead people too.
I watch your videos while on lunch on work days. Gives me something to look forward to when I get home. I love how much you love the game friend hahahaha. Your commentary is great
You can speed up the process of collecting things (including the bodies, so you can loot their gear later) by using the tractor beam attachment for the multi-tool. Using it, you wont need to actually move right up to the item and 'grab' it. you'll even be able to sling or toss things around with the tool once you get used to it.
Make sure to watch a few newer tutorials, play with a friend that shows you the basics or ask for a guide via the official website to not get frustrated. Also pay attention to the tool tips at the bottom of you screen.
Take a multi-tool with a tractor beam the next time you do a space mission. It not only assists with the moving of the boxes but it also can propel YOU forward if your target is an immovable object. It's quite fun.
For new viewers, yeah, if you are not technically inside the atmosphere, gravity doesnt affect you. It's basically a current abstraction of being "in orbit". But without having to go kerbal space program every time you wanna intercept something. Every orbital location in SC is in geosynchonous "orbit", so they follow the planet as it rotates day/night. You CAN go into real orbit with a ship travelling in decoupled mode, but it requires precise knowledge of the altitude and speed required to achieve that "perpetual fall", without the atmosphere drag slowing you down too much. You basically have to be right at the edge of where atmo/gravity begins.
Olli, your content is providing me a vicarious gaming experience (still waiting on a PC that'll handle this baby, but I got an account and a starter pack!). Keep them coming, coz I'm gonna get my machine soon, real soon...
I remember in Wing Comander III having no Jump Point left and then being in the middle of nowhere of space but you could still get back to the next waypoint, it just took about 1/2h on impulse engines..... then the mission continous what a feeling

Your ship was indeed getting attacked by a random pirate that was driven off by an equally random bounty hunter. You lost all your gear because you accidentally double clicked on the undersuit of that dead guy. It's an odd buggy shortcut that works really well in bunker missions. You can go in without any gear and double click a fallen NPC's undersuit. You will instantly equip everything they had on. As you noticed, it also works in the investigation missions. All your original gear will clump together in an odd ball of stuff, which is what was at your feet
Yea ive had that missing hands bug too, there is a process where you swap out your armour with a different type couple of times to re-equip the invisible default armour, its still there tho. I actually loot all the armour and store in the ship for later use if buddies come onboard with no gear.
I've just discovered SC and I want so badly to play! Unfortunately, fuel cost is eating all of my play budget. I hope to get online soon if my wallet allows it. Thanks to RUclipsrs like you, I have gotten a good taste for what to expect and I want more! Thank you for the content!!

aye, I have been watching you since you started planet coaster and have been subscribed around that time! I just wanted to say that you are a great youtuber and that you should keep up the good work! and I love you're vids man
I've had the exact same thing happen to me where you think your armour has vanished and you have no hands. Logging out and back in again fixes it because it's still there. It's just invisible.
investigation mission can be fun and tedious at the same time... when i used to do them they used to have a random attack happen from pirates and SC has gone through some dark times with getting to where it has, but we can go on knowing that there will be a lot more ups and downs before we get the SC we dream of, and want either way.... SC for me personally is the most detailed and epic game to date and still the most complete than many newer fully released titles out there.... and it isn't even a fraction of it completed yet
It would be pretty cool if the ship had a long arm with a claw that could grab small stuff from ship wrecks (in space) and you had the option to release the item or put the item in a compartment (inside the ship) that you can sort out later!!
the eventual goal is that a mission like this may Chain into other missions, Like you may find a note on a corps or log saying what happened and you can investigate that. were just not there yet
Yeah, been playing this game for about two to three months now. Even though the glitches I’ve encountered have certainly helped in building character, it’s still worth the contemplation of choking the responsible devs. Awesome game, great community and happy that Ollie has found addictive gameplay. I hope he won’t lose his sanity 😉
Some of those missions you can link other missions to. I have had up to 5 missions for the same derelict. Search for crew, search for missing person, retrieve black box, and retrieve cargo x2. Unfortunately it's pretty rare that you see more than 2 which really sucks. I wish they would increase the spawn of those missions. I'm so tired of doing bounty missions.
About your armor bug as there was naked dude next to you. So you did equip undersuit from him, so you lost everything you had own you. It is a way to loot your own corpse on 1 click.
you can loot the corpses, most do not have interesting stuff on them and taking anything triggers a bug (14:40 yeah exactly that, STARC-31850), but a few have glasses, like that one at 8:30, and you can take those. They aren't sold anywhere. I think they where subscriber flair once. edit: sometimes a pirate/marauder does spawn while you are on EVA, often accompanied by a UEE ship, battling each other. Always keep your engines running and full power to the shields. edit: nevermind, happened here too. Everyone is warned now.
Might want to get yourself a Multitool with the tractor beam attachment. Makes moving the boxes around much easier and you can use it to pull yourself around instead of EVA with just the suit.
Been enjoying the stuff you've been giving us! It's great to see the new players perspective! Really enjoyed the stuff you've been doing with lvlcap! Super fun to watch!
Aye, moving boxes to sell later on searches is more trouble than it’s worth. The boxes you can open either in space or on a moon are much better. The harder they are to access the better the loot.
Your question suggests to me you are uninformed about much of it. Though I could be wrong. SC is a one time purchase with a minimum purchase of $45. If that is the way you wish to join, get the Aroura starter package at the website. Thats it, the rest of the things you see are earnable in game. It is difficult to learn. If you die 3 times in the first ten minutes, you're doing good. It is an alpha with bugs. But when it works it is awesome! And it works well and getting better. It takes patience and some stubborness to get the hang of. There is a crap ton of info on it, but because the game is constantly evolving, much of it can be out of date. So pay attention to that. A guide form an experienced player is highly suggested. The community is very friendly and helpful if you ask. But you can become overwhelmed if your not careful. I have guided many, and can get you out the airlock and exploring on your own with some confidence in an hour or two. I have a flexible schedule if you would like my help. Discord is a must though. Otherwise there is a guide platform on the website. There is way to much to tell you here, but happy to answer any questions you have. Use a referal code (Oli's if you wish) when you sign up. It helps him and gives you a few extra in game credits. Good luck citizen!

Wonder if we'll see you do a Cave mission Ollie, lol - make sure you prep though! Personally spent just over 5 hours in a Microtech cave yesterday (!!!) i was legit just walking around rather than running everywhere and the cave seemed much bigger than one i had visited a couple of years ago on Daymar or someplace in that vicinity. There is an investigation mission around Crusader that sends you to a damaged space station. It has voice lines and a story.
that's a cool story mission
"P.I. wanted"
I'd say in future those missions will become quite valuable if you can salvage the wrecks with the reclaimer. Great content as always man. Your videos actualy convinced me to jump into the verse and i've had nothing but fun since so keep up the good work.
one thing that helps to do is orient yourself using your ship, but to take a cue from ender's game: "The Enemy Gate Is Down."
During EVA, imagine there's a ray line being cast from your ship through the center of the derelict.
Never steer and move at the same time that leads to exactly what you described @18:30
just look in the direction where you want to go, THEN move in that direction and against the "motion sickness" helps to align yourself with the "grid" as if gravity were there. simply said ground is down "ALWAYS"!!!!!!
this helps especially in the Starfarer with such missions,
you should get used to floating through the ship like you do when you walk
Honestly nice seeing new faces in the SC community.
I wish I could play it XD, had a game breaking bug after an hour or so.
@@steinmayer2791 try a character reset from the website. if you have a friend you can give him ur stuff and money. that's what I did.
Thanks!
no thank you!
I found your channel through your SC content and I've been loving it so far!
Been watching your SC gameplay for the last month and a half I think. I love the amount of detail in this game.
hey olli, if you pick up a multi tool with the tractor beam attachment you can get the cargo way easier back to your ship, and you can stop them from drifting as well, works on dead people too.
Hell yeah buddy! I've just gotten into this game and your vids have been a big help and a ton of fun. Keep it up!!
Olli43: *goes into space* "It's night time."
Me: *slow blink*
Hey, I love your content! I just got star citizen and I cant wait to get started.
Make sure to watch a few newer tutorials, play with a friend that shows you the basics or ask for a guide via the official website to not get frustrated. Also pay attention to the tool tips at the bottom of you screen.
Congratulations on that subscriber numbers! I guess your enthusiasm inspires quite a lot of people like myself.
I really appreciate your positivity. Life has been crazy and it is nice exploring the verse with you!
Your StarC videos have convinced me it’s finally time to buy a gaming rig. Can’t wait to jump into this universe.
Seeing people experience the missions for 1st time reminds me of old times 😁
This series did get me back into the game and I already upgraded to a Hull-A which I've been pootling around in for weeks :)
I remember in Wing Comander III having no Jump Point left and then being in the middle of nowhere of space but you could still get back to the next waypoint, it just took about 1/2h on impulse engines..... then the mission continous what a feeling
Your videos are very nice for their spontaneity! Keep it that way!
And starting to giving back to the sc community is a very nice initiative!
You'll allow others to enjoy the beauty of the verse
We also wanna thank you for your video's, they are very enjoyable and very educating aswell. All the time and joy you put in these video's are very much appriciated. 👍
I started playing star citizen a day after you started uploading daily video's if it. I have watched every single video and i always get exited when i get a notification of a new upload of yours.🙂
The effort you put in these video's really make people days man, your video's and experiences are priceless. We enjoy every single moment of it. 👌
Keep it up man, the support we are giving is worth nothing compared to the joy you give us and everything you do for us to make us happy. We love your video's, we are always exited for a new upload!😁
Great video and thanks for the tip about checking the Mobi-Glass onsite to see if additional mission is available
love your consistent uploads man i myself started this game 1month ago and your videos helps me to understand the game better😁 so thank you!
Thanks Olli, you inspired me to build a monster custom pc to be able to play this again. Love your SC videos. You have a bright future with youtube ahead! Keep it up! Look forward to seeing you flying in the verse :)
aye, I have been watching you since you started planet coaster and have been subscribed around that time! I just wanted to say that you are a great youtuber and that you should keep up the good work! and I love you're vids man
I've had the exact same thing happen to me where you think your armour has vanished and you have no hands. Logging out and back in again fixes it because it's still there. It's just invisible.
Just discovered your channel and I’m grateful for it. I like your laid back style! Keep it up!
FYI the tractor beam attachment for the multi-tool would be much better for moving the cargo around than trying to carry each box around
investigation mission can be fun and tedious at the same time... when i used to do them they used to have a random attack happen from pirates
and SC has gone through some dark times with getting to where it has, but we can go on knowing that there will be a lot more ups and downs before we get the SC we dream of, and want
either way.... SC for me personally is the most detailed and epic game to date and still the most complete than many newer fully released titles out there.... and it isn't even a fraction of it completed yet
I'm forever in your debt for showing me that New Babbage shortcut to the commons. I legit love you
It would be pretty cool if the ship had a long arm with a claw that could grab small stuff from ship wrecks (in space) and you had the option to release the item or put the item in a compartment (inside the ship) that you can sort out later!!
the eventual goal is that a mission like this may Chain into other missions, Like you may find a note on a corps or log saying what happened and you can investigate that. were just not there yet
Dude loving your content! New to star citizen and your vids have helped me out alot.
i haven't watched your content in years, im glad youtube recommended me your content after years
Some of those missions you can link other missions to.
A tip for you: Get yourself the Tractor Beam Attachement for the Multi-Tool. This makes looting boxes SOOOOO much easier.
Honestly these videos got me back into the game and back on the grind
“Handsy” !! Lol :-) ...... yeah there are bugs, but you always positive with it - makes it fun to watch :-)
I love your SC videos. I need to upgrade my PC to be able to play, so I live vicariously through your videos.
Love these videos man, keep up the good work. Learned so much just watching you and even started playing using your ref code!
you can loot the corpses, most do not have interesting stuff on them and taking anything triggers a bug (14:40 yeah exactly that, STARC-31850), but a few have glasses, like that one at 8:30, and you can take those.
The 400i is literally my dream ship wow
Aye, moving boxes to sell later on searches is more trouble than it’s worth. The boxes you can open either in space or on a moon are much better. The harder they are to access the better the loot.
Freaking Nice! Good luck 🍀 everyone, glad to see more players joining the game thanks to you buddy.
I tried doing the Catepillar mission before and I flew right into the damn ship and killed myself
What can I say, I just love this game! ^^
I'm pretty new but still love it!
Been thinking about getting into this game. Does it take a monthly subscription? It looks right up my ally.
@@festersmith8352 thank you
Love coming across more star citizen content. This was really fun to watch. Thanks
I love watching your videos. Especially at the minute as i have covid and am isolating so they are keeping me sane. Keep up the good work. And love watching these videos all tho i dont have a pc or the game. 👌
Just got the game a few days ago and have to say it's been the best game I've ever played. I really can't get enough to the point I forget to eat.
"Best game I ever played" is a strong statement! Im a veteran. With all the hate comments about the game out there, its really nice to see one like this.
@@festersmith8352 used to dream of a game similar to sc I'm definitely going to be a long time supporter!
@@ClydiieTwo Me too!
Hey Olli another great video that's a fun game loop oh just a bit of a FYI you can use the tractor beam while in eva as a grappling hook it's nice and thats awesome that you are getting enough success you are able to do give aways next thing we know you will be streaming and getting sponsors you deserve all the success thank you for the video
I’ve been so interested in this game and came across a video of yours and been loving the content and you just exploring. You are making me want to play more and more but I don’t have a computer at all! I wish I had one just to play the game alone! Hopefully one day I’ll be able to get one and play but till then I’ll watch your videos! What would you recommend for a computer to play??
Wonder if we'll see you do a Cave mission Ollie, lol - make sure you prep though!
Personally spent just over 5 hours in a Microtech cave yesterday (!!!) i was legit just walking around rather than running everywhere and the cave seemed much bigger than one i had visited a couple of years ago on Daymar or someplace in that vicinity.
Managed to snag one load of mineables during the course of my trek, but i glitched out and was thus unable to keep picking things up (was thankful i could still eat/drink though)
Couldnt find the fella (and no signs of flares and equipment at any point on my search either) so no idea what was going on there - but, enjoyed myself, even if the mission did time out towards the part where i was giving up lol
I hit the subscribe, its odd because I thought I already was. Thanks for the video, im gonna give this a try and definitely leaving the cargo alone lol. Did your armor ever come back???
