Why did he recommend to plant halfway up the root stock? Isn't the root flare suppose to be exposed or level with the soil?

      That also puzzled me

That’s what I thought as well. I’ve always planted the way you described, and had very good results. You would never plant a tree growing on its own roots that deep, so why a grafted one?

If I planted my bareroot trees last year (February 2023), can I still prune them this year to knee height to encourage a low canopy structure?

Hello and thanks for all your content. My new landscaping client has a 12ft peach tree. They want it short if possible. Can I cut this tree to atleast 10ft if possible. Will this kill the tree?

Here’s a helpful pruning lesson: ruclips.net/video/WLpayB5VH0A/видео.htmlsi=TpPlOZEZFeh0Dxpi The best time to major prune is after the last chance of frost date passes, but before spring growth. For my Los Angeles grow-zone, that was the last week of January. For those in my area, you should be getting your major pruning done soon! Let me know if you have any other questions!
