That's a very simple and effective idea Jim. I just ordered 2 of those little synthetic straps from you guys. I am switching over to 1/4" synthetic from 3/16" and I wasn't sure if the hole in the winches drum would allow for the larger rope. Your method allows me to use larger winch line without the worry of the drum.
I ordered one. Thank you for the video. My winch has a metal plate coming from the bottom of the winch. Looks like it may be a tensioner for the cable or to remove debris. Should I remove it before installing a rope? I have a Master Lock ATV winch and I I haven’t taken it apart to see if the metal is part of the mounting bracket or the winch. Thank you
I just went to put a new winch line on my ATV winch using The Grabber but it's too long to fit between the sides of my winch spool. Do you guys make 2 sizes of Grabbers.... one for ATV's and one for full-size winches? You must have sent me the full size version.
Here in OZ, we use them all the time. The function of the Plasma Lock is to apply friction against the drum so that the normally slippery synthetic rope has a purchase on the drum for when you winch from the first layer on the drum. It has nothing to do with anchoring the loose end of the line, as depending on the diameter of the drum, you will need somewhere between 5 and 10 wraps of the first layer to create enough friction so the line does not pull off the drum under load. Unlike steel rope, synthetic rope does not want to grip the drum due to it's plastic properties.
It would be cool if you could make the working end of the winch line into a big knot like your synthetic shackel like in this video: ruclips.net/video/KLql_1RfGHA/видео.html

Nice job. That’s Bubba fat.. I got a 3000 lb Champion. Took off cable. The drum has hole with Allen set screw in drum to secure new line…
I don't see why there isn't some kind of fancy way to just tie the rope on. Thanks for making this video, I think I'm going to do mine like this.
that grabber is an awesome idea. I just ordered myself one. thanks for the video.
Hallo, where can i find it?
@@nikolozduduchava5418 I got mine from Amazon.
This is our new Winch Line Attachment Grabber!
came loose on me every time, threw it away,,, using a constrictor knot now works fine
so you do not need the bolt to hold it down?
Thanks
This is a stolen invention from Australia. Called Red Winch Plasma Lock. Look it up on RUclips.

Think Matt patented it...
