Exactly, I'm a BYU fan and I really didn't want Zach to play this year. He went from having terrible competition on a young team to the freaking NFL, no matter how much talent he has he needs time.
Also, he was and will continue to be up in the coach’s box with OC Lafleur. He’ll be back in a much better position

@@underachiever8532 oh the NBA is the worst it's like watching a drama movie, I watched lebron go up for a lay up and literally bounce the ball off his leg so that it covered the spread. It's entertainment not competition, they all have a script to follow and every championship and Superbowl is pre determined , they have to make money so they pick the teams that will generate ratings. They also make sure Vegas is happy and get kickbacks for shaving points and throwing games.

He made the throws. But the key to me was play calling. They have White a ton of short passes and screens. The play calling seemed to turn the corner. Hopefully that helps Zach when he returns, if not than we have a problem.

Let Wilson work on recovering for as long as he needs. No clue what will happen for the rest of the year, but it's Mike White's make-or-break time. If both QB's turn out to be pretty good, though, the question turns to whether to keep White or trade him. Especially since even on Pat's show they talked about this coming QB class from college not being all that exciting

I hope the kid keeps playing great and earns that starting spot, even as a fan of another team in the AFC East I have a very small soft spot in my heart for the Jets (because my dad used to root for em) so as long as their not an actual threat in the division I don't mind seeing them have some good games and this kid is a real underdog and I mean who the hell doesn't love a good underdog story.

Man people really need to chill out on all the overreactions. Agreed that White played incredible and now has more then earned his shot, but Wilson was more of a long term prospect that was thrown right in to the Fire. We've seen one big start before though, especially in modern NFL. Congrats to the Jets....it's well deserved, and I hope he does keep balling out. I'm just saying, lets not blow the doors off until we see it for a few games or more. Things change very quickly in the NFL, as proven by this result and performance by White.
Thank you for having common sense. Mike White is not replacing Wilson. Wilson’s ceiling is way to high compared to Whites. White will not look like this every game but I will say their are things Zach should look at when it came to White playing that he should start doing rather than try to find the big play all the time. But then again maybe the injuries were inevitable because the refs can't seem to figure out when a QB goes from a passer to a runner, so they just declare them a runner at all times (see Cam Newton no calls, see Lamar Jackson didn't get a roughing the passer call since 2019 until he made public comments)

The amount of people saying Wilson is a bust because White did great in ONE game. I don't think Mike will ever have a game this good ever again honestly, anything can happen on any given Sunday. But Wilson literally has the potential to play just like White did, he's a better athlete and has better arm talent. Wilson just needs to clean up on his decision making and get the ball out quick. As a jets fan I did not like the Zach draft pick from day one. I think mike white is a guy that just looks… better in this offense if that makes sense. Like everything on Sunday looked smooth, like how an nfl offense should be. I think he has a lot of room for improvement. They both do. I think that the coaches and Joe Douglas need to really sit down and think of a plan abt this situation. A lot of backups have games where they shock everyone and play out of their mind. Just because White was amazing in ONE game that doesn't mean he's a franchise QB and screw zach wilson. Give it time. Zach was thrown into the fire immediately and that was a horrible idea. He definitely has more raw talent than mike white, the problem is he's clearly not ready to play yet. And give credit to Mike Lafleur for the playcalling too. Everything looked easy out there for mike white opposed to the impossible situations wilson was put into. Yeah, we've seen this show before on nearly every team Ryan Fitzpatrick has played for.
As soon as Zach Wilson is healthy, he will be back under center. The Jets used a 2nd overall pick on him, so theres no doubt he gets the ball when hes ready to go. Hopefully Zach looks at this and understands the game LaFleur wants to play, and how successful it can be when you just execute. Zach has been very inaccurate thus far, and takes too long to get the ball out. Also, LaFleur needs to stay in the booth. I know Zach wants him on the field, but he should rely on Flacco and White to breakdown the plays on the sidelines.

As a Jets fan I am pumped UPPPPPPPPPP but I still think Zach Wilson is our guy. I think this actually helps Wilson and Mike LaFleur in the long run. Wilson will have to fight for his spot now which I think never really happened in training camp and give him some grit. Mike LaFleur gets to be in the booth now and probably thrives more in the booth. And if Mike White keeps playing like this, he can probably see a big paycheck in the future from another team or the Jets if they're willing. I think the biggest weakness of Zach Wilson's right now is that he is trying to do too much. Simply because he knows what he is capable of, which is understandable because when he is locked in, he can be very impressive to watch. He should just work on being a little more patient by taking what the defense gives him.

We must not overlook the fact that it appears that Mike Lafluer is getting better too and called a great game. I'm not saying Zach would have played as well as White but I definitely believe it would have been possible if not likely. Either way, yesterday benefited Zach as well because when he returns, if he is the starter, he will be returning to a better offensive unit and a much more seasoned Mike Lafluer.

Alot of backups are one game flashes in the pan. See Jason Garrett ,Clint Longley of the Cowboys. Garrett still holds a Cowboys record for his one hit wonder game.
Don't count on White having another game like that when he spent his previous time as a Cowboys scrub
Crazy that White played the most “boring “ football for 405 yards and three touchdowns. Hopefully Zach and Lafleur realizes this.
I highly doubt Mike White will be the one to be the next Jets QB, I hope so , but doubt it. I have not liked Wilson from back in February, when his name started coming up as a high draft pick. I had never heard of him before but when they started talking about him being a top three draft pick I got all the BYU games I could find and I watched them all multiple times. After watching them I came to the conclusion that the Jets shouldn't go anywhere near Zach Wilson. What Zach Wilson is is the ultimate boom or bust quarterback and seeing the success rate of all GMS over the last 40 years when drafting a quarterback in the first round is 15% It's more likely to be a bust. What impressed all these people about Wilson is his ability to run around like a maniac and throw the ball 60 yards in the opposite direction that he's running to. These guys are professionals and I'm not but I have no idea why that would make somebody a good NFL quarterback. Yes he has a great arm, awesome. So did Jeff George he could throw the ball 94 yards down the field, JaMarcus Russell could throw the ball almost a hundred yards from scrimmage. Both number 1 overall picks.
Where the hell are they now? Does it really matter how strong an NFL quarterbacks arm is? Every NFL quarterback has a strong enough arm to be successful in the NFL or they wouldn't be there. So, I think there will be a quarterback that replaces Wilson in the next three years because he's going to continue this trend of being horrible. But I don't think it'll be White.
Watching the game last week all White did was take what the defense gave him and that was underneath passes that his receivers and running backs turned into big gaines I didn't see any long impressive passes or impressive throws. But you got to give it to the guy he got it done he threw for 428 yards and two touchdowns. Zack Wilson starts that game the Bengals win in a blowout and the offense does nothing.
What will be interesting is if White has a game on Thursday night like 250 yds a touchdown and an interceptio. A very good game but not good enought to take Zach's job, still a much better game than Wilson has even come close to. Because under those circumstances they may bring Wilson back for the Sunday after that. If anybody thinks Wilson is going to be any different after his injury they are dreaming he's going to be just as bad and he's been horrible he's been the worst of the rookie quarterbacks. Trevor I've watched and he's not playing great but you can just see, in some of his throws, he just needs time and he's a no doubter. Feilds has been much more impressive as has Jones although in a passer friendly offense, Jones will never be a good QB, Lance hasnt played enough. There is nothing good that Wilson has done this season at all. As soon as he starts struggling, if white has a decent game Thursday, the entire crowd, Monday's Media, newspapers, internet, radio talk shows are all going to be chanting Mike White's name. Wilson is a young arrogant guy I don't know how he will handle that and I doubt he'll handle it well.
How crazy would it be if Mike white became the next goat after being the backup on the jets to a potential franchise qb after they were injured against the patriots. Just like how Tom Brady was the backup to drew bledsoe when he got hurt against the jets 🤯

Maybe the difference is one kid had the pressure of the entire franchise on his shoulders, and the other kid didn't have any pressure or expectations
