Something a lot of these rookies (not just Zach) don’t understand is they’re talented, and they have been on the best teams with the best teammates at the best schools their whole career. They’ve been brought up around excellence that’s it no small part contributed by the law of huge numbers. So when they get picked by last years lowest 5 teams they’re suddenly not on the best team and they’re in a league where their talent alone isn’t enough anymore. And they’re faced with the first real time in their careers where they have to get better and improve MANUALLY

I saw a few series on Thursday. It ain't Zach. The Jets had good intentions getting a legend QB coach for him last year, but he died. You have no one that has developed a QB, nor establish an identity on offense. I saw Zach towards end of half. He converted to 3rd and long plays, he shouldn't have, due to offensive penalties, plus doomed sweep or screen passes, that everyone knew was coming. No run game, inconsistent blocking, receivers dogging it, that could have been completions, or running wrong routes. The intersection at end of half was a hailmerry, due to offensive penalties, and poor play calls. Started 2nd half. He completed first pass, on first play. Then a quick sack, thanks the no blocking, penalties. Sound familiar? If they sit him down. I hope it is to regroup. It is lack of coaching. I think that Zack's present for Christmas this year should of been Braveheart, Patton, or movies of that sort, instead of scooters. They need an offensive coordinator, and find a QB coach.

The Quarterback position has become so overblown in importance because of the otherworldly stuff that Peyton, Tom and Aaron did so that protection rules have been implemented which overemphasise QB play. QBs are important, but up until the mid 2000s, teams could win without Top 5 or even Top 10 Quarterback because they were stacked at other positions and had great coaching. Just think of the Jets in 2009/10 who went back-to-back to AFC Championship games. Franchises can be very successful without excellent QBs (see 49ers) and they can fail in spite of great QB talent (see Chargers). Also, QB contracts have been so overblown that the pressure is gigantic on these rookie QBs. Zac Wilson still stinks, but you know.

Zach wilson is still a pro caliber qb, in terms of arm talent. The problem with so many nfl scouts picking qbs is that they look at arm talent solely sometimes. You will see this in the 2023 draft too. Will levis has a crazy arm, and if he gets on the right team he will shine, but the odds are slim. Justin fields isn't even that good tbh lol he's just looking the best out of all the qbs drafted with him, along with Lawrence. Lamar was barely a 1st rounder, should of been a 2nd, and won mvp. The scouts are awful at determining qb talent.

And what's crazy is you can look at these other guys, forget where Mahomes and Josh Allen, and Lamar were picked. Just the scope of Baker, Trevor, Kyler. Exclude Kyler and his CoD, and just think about it. The yards and scores that can be put up in a game. And then look at Zach Wilson, and how much he really has actually put up recently. After that one week with the Pats, I don't know.
