Fantastic video and you have really nailed the issue of riser handlebars. Ever since ordering a Helix in the summer of 2015, I felt elevated handlebars would probably be a necessity for tall riders (in an upright position). Through you great video and comments, you have shown the work-around using longer cables. Thank you and keep up the great videos!
Thanks for posting. I have a long wait before my Helix gets through the production backlog. Meanwhile, I really enjoy seeing comments from new owners, and especially your videos.
Great video! And good to know about the cable issue. I'm backer #139 and have been contemplating selling it. Having watched your videos has rejuvenated my anticipation to ride this awesome folder again. Thanks for the video Bro!
Your pricing remarks were accurate as now Helix is selling out production runs at $3500-4000 depending on the drivetrain. I wish I'd bought at the Kickstarter prices. :)
What a cool folding bike. With the big tires It's more intresting than the bromptons. More video please... make more bike riding and commuting video in ur city with speed display. U can make the speed display like @mysustainblefuture Channel did. Its so cool Sorry for my bad english. I Hope ur channel will be bigger someday. Cheers from indonesia👍👍
It's great to hear that it holds up in all terrain. One step closer to purchasing! In your next ride vid, is there any chance you would be able to film the folding mechanism when getting on public transport, getting out of a store, etc? Just trying to see how long it truly takes! Thanks for the vids so far!
Yeah, in real world use I can unfold the bike in about 20 seconds. I can fold it in about 25 seconds. Both just normal speed, if I were trying to set a record maybe chop 5 seconds or so off.
Superb Video!! Thanks. There's a review thread on Bikeforums and you could possibly post there. Anyways, question: What did you gain with the handlebar change? And did it change the handling? Thanks again for a wonderful video!!
Please feel free to link it on Bikeforums, I encourage it. I'm not a forum member there and feel bad to join just to post this video up, I'd feel like a troll. As far as the handlebars, It didn't change the handling. I do actually think it is perfect for me. Originally it felt a little too aggressive to my liking. Some may like that, I favor a little more upright position when riding nowadays. The Surly Sunrise bar I got is higher by about 2.5 inches and I LOVE the height now. Thanks!
Loved the music and the video. What is the music called and who performed it? Hope you do more videos and please give a music credit even if it is freebie out of a can. Keep rolling your bike and camera.
I'm short, 5'6 but I know there are some tall guys on the helix forum that really enjoy the bike. The seat can move like 6 inches forward and back and I swapped out my handlebar for a taller one.
Yo, I was contemplating the Helix when I saw it on Kickstarter years ago. I ended up getting a Dahon QIX 8 which I've been pretty happy with because of the decent size footprint. I've been wanting to get a 6speed Brompton superlight but now seeing the Helix is FINALLY in production, I'm conflicted. There's always the compromise between small profile/weight and 20/24 inch wheels vs 16 differences in ride experience. What's your thoughts/suggestions?
Well, if you got in on the Kickstarter and went through the agony some are still going through now the Helix would be a no-brainer. But right now it is hard for me to recommend it because though you can buy it and have it in a month, the price has shot way up from the $1300 I paid up to $3500-$4000. Unless you have money to burn I'd look for something else.
@@realMDizzy Heard, yeah that's pretty steep, and it looks like they're backorder until December. The Brompton with Ti stem, fork, and rear triangle runs about 3k USD, and something about the design seems more aesthetically pleasing compared to the Helix, although the latter seems more functional (because of the frames triangle and the 24inch wheels). Thanks for the feedback.

What number are u Doug? I might need to do the dizzy handle bar mod to my helix.
Great video and comments about the bike. I love my Birdy, keep it in the RV and look forward getting a Helix to add to the collection.
Hi thanks for the video review. Could you share how fast the helix bike can go and how it is to handle steep slopes

Keep it coming. How's the ride quality? Does the titanium help in the bumps.

I'm order #133...still waiting. Cool vid.
Good video, curious if the handlebar riser affects the folded state in any negative way... 🤔
I don't even notice to be quite honest. ruclips.net/video/9X1wRDcw1Cg/видео.html

Sweet bike bro. No sorry, as long as you’re having fun, that’s all that matters. Maybe throw in some epic slow mo and speed ramping next time?
Thanks for the vid. Just wondering how tall you are, and if you think fit someone 6’2”. Looks awesome!
