I went to Cornell at 6am on a misty dewy grass morning Found the only place around me that sold coffee walked along the top of the hill When There she stood hands up as high as they could be curving her body left And then right Edging me forward to get a more focused look Memorizing the golden sun rays off her hair Her smile of an angel I drew closer My pace grew quicker is step As i tried to prevent myself from slipping on the wet blades of freshly cut grass But like a locomotive It would take time to slow this guy down Oh man i hope she does not unplug her music playing in her ears In case i scream....Ok these 3 ft grabs for footing is bad But not as bad as this asphalt path way coming up Should i let go of this coffee ? Screw it ! with my last might i leap upward what seemed long than it should of been And in true Canadian beer drinking form I landed without spilling a drop of coffee However I ate American soil for the first time And i did not taste this so called freedom you speak of This poor girl only sees a guy diving over a pathway And laying there waving and mouthing the words " I'm fine " which had to look like i was rushing to beat her to a spot on the wet grass to lay on......That was the last time i went to Cornell to pick up a friend that was sleeping in hung over from the night before...
