Some creators of Suikoden have gotten together to make a new game called Eiyuden Chronicles Hundred Heroes. But Miki Higashino is staying retired sadly. Her absence is a loss to us all.
I was also wondering why she was missing here. I kinda agree with those words found on some castlevania-wiki concerning her work: "Due to her prominence as lead illustrator during one of the busiest times for the Suikoden series, her artwork is often seen as representative of the series itself". Her style just captivated me back then and was the reason I had to buy suikoden 2 just by looking at the boxart-cover, before looking up games online and stuff. It was worth it - best game I've ever played. Edit: She's not dead.

I would love to see the fan base do a lot more speculation! A video about things we can speculate on (or “unanswered questions” rather) would be amazing! Like who is Hugo’s dad? Lucia hints that it was someone with black hair (it’s “where he gets his hair color from”) and it’s clearly no one in the tribe. Another one would be is Queen from III Jowy’s wife from II? That would be a really interesting story arch and there are so many good arguments both ways. Other questions I’ve seen tossed around in the debate forums are do the True Runes always grant longevity? Is Gremio’s soul trapped in Tir’s rune? Etc. I mean there’s the obvious questions like Jeane, Vicki, etc. but there’s more subtle threads we can pull on. Thanks for letting me leave my suggestions!
You missed one point with Yoshitaka Murayama. According to Suikoden Memorial Revival on mid June 2014 Murayama said one of the projects he is involved with is aimed mainly towards the overseas audience. They had recently launched the project so he doesn't know when it will get off the ground. 3.5 years later we are still waiting. But keep expectations in check, it does seems to be for Western/Asian audience instead of lower budget aimed towards Japanese audiences. Suikoden use anime art style and this project seems to go for photorealistic visuals. If I have to guess he will only pen a script/story for it. It's basically why a writer has to join a project in pre-production and planning stage. We don't know what kind of project it is. There has been some information about Sony Japan Studio is cooking something ambitious internally for the world. Story could be based on Chinese novel like Suikoden and Jade Empire. That's what Murayama is known for. That could fit the work from Soul Sacrifice devs and Bloodborne devs. I don't count graduated rookies from uni who joined later on in the development process.
That cut scene from Suikoden II where Riou,Nanami and Pillika is waiting for Joey. it's feel like us the fans, but it was the bad ending one, where Riou is waiting outside until the credits role screens...alone.
my friend made a fan made game and named it suikoden 6, focusin on a young Barbarossa and the Sovereign rune. however, after finding out for himself that his story has so many flows and rifts in the storyline, he stopped. :l im still urging him to pass the project to me.. but yeah. it's sad. it's been sitting on thr couch for 2 yrs now.
I would love a game focusing on the Sindar people and them explaining more about Jeane. It's obvious she's existed for quite some time but it was stated she doesn't possess a true rune and animals can see her true form it seems. I wish I could forget all about Suikoden II so I could play it again for the first time. Was such a brilliant game. As much as I want a Suikoden 6, it feels like the quality of the series has been consistently falling since, so maybe it being over is for the best.

I think it depends on the ownership of rights of the Suikoden series. Did you see what Konami did to Hideo Kojima? No wonder they all left. Their best chance is if the team or Blue Moon Studios buys the rights from Konami. Then again chances are slim, it would take a Kickstarter, then they would have to have a second Kickstarter to actually fund the game. If this happens all successfully you should expect Suikoden: Origins to take a 3-5 year development. So difficult to call this anytime before 2024-2025. Unless! They are already working on it and my comment is bullsh**. So I would go ahead and call it difficult. Ps: I think they should leave the numbered entries 1-5 and reboot the universe for more coherence. That's why I said origins. Also I wouldn't be sad if they create a spiritual sucessor while hiring most of the old staff. Would be a nice spot to land back Higashino into composing again. Or at the very least give a powerful series to Mitsuda to work on since somehow he hasn't been composing for some of the big titles other than xenoblade.
Suikoden, the greatest rpg series never finished. Hell, all the true runes haven't made their way into the games story yet. Its just one of the best overarching stories spanning hundreds of years and keeping on the same continuity for the most part. There is so much more story to tell but I get the feeling we'll never see an ending to it. Oh well, it was good while it lasted.
hope one day a tenkai star will gather all these scattered stars of destiny to continue the series not just stop in suikoden 6. until we explore the entire suikoden world only then can I put my love for this game to rest
There should be a studio that collects rejected developers from all over the Japanese industry, like a tractor beam that collects minerals in space. They should even call themselves Tractor Beam Studios.
With the way that things are going so horribly with Konami right now, I highly doubt that a Suikoden revival is ever possible right now in the near future.
when JPRG was masterfully crafted. Gameplay and story wise. Do the devs even know how many people have been touched by this game? They should do a remake or something. Really.
@@ThrowedGenji I've read some compelling theories that had Murayama stayed on for the rest of Suikoden 3, the POV currently occupied by Koroku would have instead been Sasarai. the POVs would have been the 5 elemental runes and Thomas. But alas :(
"If the environment was right", okay I don't mean to kill a single ray of hope you guys have but this basically means "No". Suikoden is a Konami franchise and considering how badly they perform on game industry to the point that they throw Hideo Kojima away, it is safe to say there's no chance Konami will bring back the Suikoden team to work for Suikoden VI, this game is as dead as Metal Gear Solid. Although if the stars aligned, if the Konami executive suddenly have brain to think, if at one point the entire Suikoden team gathered once more on the same studio, maybe we will see it one day in the distant future. Until that day arrive all we can do is to keep supporting this franchise and hope Leknatt open a new gate for a new destiny.
Konami just doesn't really want to produce RPGs like Suikoden anymore, so unless there's some major rethinking on their part or someone buys the rights to the franchise from them, there'll never be another.

Hugo is 15ish and there were 15 years between Suikoden 2 and 3. Lucia was part of the HIghland army then. I'm guessing Seed may have been Hugo's dad.
