    I must admit when i got my XJ people told me look how big it is oh i must have money but i got a 2013 XJ 3.0 V6 diesel and I wasnt disappointed by its performance on a long run I was getting over 40 mpg and when you kick that engine into life when you need it just says to you it wants to go even not in sport mode . It's a fabulous car to own it's just luxury and when doing a long drive u dont feel tired afterwards either I look forward to many years in my jag Xj portfolio

      @connortraynor1643 well the jag got sold as the it was costing alot of money to keep maintained the brake servo went on it and that cost me £1500 to replace and as I work from one side of my town and work the other side of town in the mornings the the engine wasn't getting warm enough and it only got a long run once a month but it was avert nice car

    I just bought a late 2012 XJ 3.0ltr supercharged portfolio with only 16000 miles on it. Originally it cost £67,500 (the original invoice came with the car) and I picked it up for £19,000. It still drives like brand new and the feel of it is just sublime, the power from 340 bhp supercharged V6 is perfect and sitting in that ivory two tone interior makes you feel, well, special. I had an XF which I lavished attention on and that was a nice car, 3.0ltr V6 petrol premium luxury, I poly bushed the rear suspension and the front Caster arms but to be honest after driving the XJ there's just no comparison.

    How many have you owned Abdulaziz, I am guessing NONE! I've owned 6, including a 1988 XJ6, a 1967 E-Type and 2 V12 models, ALL have been quite RELIABLE! My most common repairs were the normal starter and alternator replacements after years of use. People that bad mouth Jaguar typically have NEVER owned one, they merely parrot ignorance of others. Though I admit I do not like the styling of the current saloons in either series.

    • @ArthurBrinkman-c5z
      @ArthurBrinkman-c5z 5 лет назад +5

      I'm with you all the way. I haven't owned as many as you have. But I'm now in my 2nd Jaguar. My first one was a 03 S Type 4.2 V,8. A beautiful car when I bought it everyone told me I had made a huge mistake it was going to be in the shop more than I'm able to drive it and on and on. I had that car 12 years. It went to the shop frequently, yes, for Oil changes, then I put a new set of tires on it.and after 150k miles I had to have the brake pads done. So proved them wrong. One of the most reliable cars I ever owned. I sold it to my cousin with 157k well loved miles on it so I could buy my 2012 XF Supercharged V8 Portfolio edition. And once again I heard all of the same crap again only from people who had NEVER owned one.
      And my XF has also been very good to me.

      100% with you Clarkecars! I have had 2 XJS V12's, 1 Series 3 V12, 4 Series 2 XK 4.2's and 2 S Type 3.0L V6's all of them were great cars and only suffered from the neglect of previous owners that I corrected. I got into Jaguar cars when I was eight and my dad bought a fabulous 420G in British Racing Green, that was the car I longed for. However, I also grew with neighbour's that ran Land Rover's and from that day to this (45years later) I have owned many Jaguar's and Land Rover's and will continue to do so! Not keen on this shape XJ but used prices are making up for that hideous rear end so I may be tempted into one yet? Otherwise it's another Range Rover!

    • @amosingh3056

      Clarkecars totally agree
      I've owned 2 series 3 cars (really miss those loved the double fuel tank) a 97 4litre sovereign an Ali body 2003 4.2 V8 still got and a 2014 twin turbo bought last year I would so far as to say jags are more reliable than there rivals only servicing and general wear and tear items if you don't take good care of your vehicle then your left with an unreliable car and that's the type of car that these people are on about that's not jags fault that's the fault of the skinflint owners
      If jag had sorted the rivet corrosion issues in a more timely manner then I would have been good but I would rather bear that than drive a soulless German marque the 2 comments I always got and still get are your going to lose a lot of money in depreciation and I bet that breaks down a lot depreciation doesn't bother me and the second point is made by hearsay and not owners (not from owners of well looked after cars anyway)
      As you can probably tell I bloody love these cars
      Never owned a supercharger but will probably buy one when they get to around £25k

    • @adamwoodward2003
      @adamwoodward2003 6 лет назад +7

      Syedobaid Shahr German cars all look the same and have the same shitty interiors for example BMW have been using the same door handle design for 14 years they've been using the same steering wheel for over 10 years and the same grill for about 8 years. I bought a BMW 7 series about 3 years ago and I absolutely hated the fucking heap of shit I returned the car about a week later because it drove like a piece of shit. I then bought a jaguar XJL and I love that car I still own it to this date. I would never buy another BMW again because there ugly have cheap interiors and are horrible to drive and they are also overpriced but I would definitely buy another jaguar. In a jaguar you can see that it has been designed and built to a standard it rewards luxury and drives like a sports car jaguar's reward a sense of status and that's something a BMW could never do.

    • @nigelcharlton-wright1747
      @nigelcharlton-wright1747 6 лет назад

      What British show are you talking about? As far as I know, Fifth Gear promotes all makes of cars, both Top Gear and The Grand Tour mainly talk about mainly Super Cars, and most of the British motoring press go on about how wonderful German cars are. So tell me what on earth are you talking about?
      Besides there are very few British cars made these days! Since the strikes in the '60's and '70's, and some of the products that were made in both the '70's and '80's. At least both Jaguar's and Land Rover are making a wide range of cars compared to a few years ago. I take it you drive a certain German make… BMW?

    • @nigelcharlton-wright1747
      @nigelcharlton-wright1747 6 лет назад +1

      Yes, I agree, but Syedobaid Shahr might own one of those overrated German cars. I drove a diesel 3 Series GT on a test drive, (when we owned an X-Type). It made more road noise than the X-Type, the plastic was worse than that on a Rover 200, the interior was not very pleasant and the engine was unrefined. Our XJ6 diesel is far quieter than BMW and a far better looking car compared to the 7-Seiries. In fact I hate everything about BMW… But that's another story of tantrums, screwing the Rover Group and helping it's demise and killing off German rivals in the '60's and taking over their rival's products and factories!

      Fifth Gear ended in 2016, there is no new content. When the show ended, they started uploading EVERY episode and review in order from the beginning. This insn't a reupload ,you have just seen it before. Proberly from pirates.

      Tasos Stavrou you should try driving one, then your opinion will be the same. I just bought one and after having had a BMW and an Audi it feels like a big step up in luxury terms.
      I can't fault it other than the fact the sun roof makes a slight rattle on very bumpy roads.

      andrew warner well if you went from a 1 series to an XJ I'd expect that, you need to be more specific

      Tasos Stavrou I have a 2013 5 series which I have had for the last 4 years from new. I tried a 7 series and the jag and prefer the jaguar. The technology isn't as good as the new 7 series but if you are looking at a 3 year old Jaguar XJ vs a 3 year old 7 series there isn't much in it technology wise. But the jag feels more expensive and luxurious inside and handles a bit better.
      The new S class was out of my price range and I was going for a used car this time but the previous generation S class has a smoother ride but not as nice to drive and again it doesn't look or feel as nice inside. If you can get a 2017 S class that's probably the nicer car but if you are looking at cars that are a few years old the jag is the one to get. Don't forget this video is of a car from 2010.

      Tasos Stavrou you may not have the money now but you may do one day. When I was 20 my car was worth about £200 and I shared a house with 8 other students. Now I have my own house, a Jaguar XJ, Porsche 911 and a BMW 5 series (I will however be getting rid of the 5 series as the jaguar is its replacement, but for now I look flash with three cars). Good luck with uni it will all be worth it in the end.

    Drove one for a day and the interrior is cheap and boring. Also not that comfortable. Volvo or bmw is better.

      I doubt you did that at all. Not a single review has ever said that about the interior or the comfort. And claiming a volvo is better than a Jag simply proves my point.

    It looks awful, probably one of the worst looking Jags in the history of the company. And the woeful sales figures back my claim up. Would be better as another car in the lineup. XJ should carry the DNA from whence it came, as other rivals do. Jag is going down the toilet and Ian Callum isn't doing a great job.
