Here in the USA all the grocery stores sell plenty of it from November to January, but i bet most people here, even those of us that love the stuff. don't really even know what it actually is lol. If you like creamy drinks, like a White Russian, you should definitely make some at home. My favorite recipe on here is by Joshua Weissman
Having made Egg Nog from scratch, I can tell you that the difference between a sweet, thick, eggy, delicious drink, and a souffle, is about 20 seconds on the stove top.
My daughter was 5 when I had her try one of my favorite childhood drinks. She hated it before she even tried it. So this year in a moment of clarity I asked her if she wanted to try Christmas milk. Now we can't keep it in the fridge. The name was the only hold up. I'm asking for a rebrand.
This was lovely! In Venezuela we drink a quite similar beverage around Christmas time made with sweet condensed milk, eggs, a sugar cane syrup with spices and rum called ponche crema *creamy punch* is delicious.
I always wondered what "nogg" was - and now I know! Loved the "pirate" impression. Great video as always. Thanks and happy holidays to you & your family!
In Florida we have Farm Store (it’s kind of like 7-11 but way smaller chain). They have the best Egg Nog. I could chug a half gallon no problem. But that farm in your video - so beautiful...would love to try that.
Wow😍 as always . Plz post more ....can you make a video explainning what is a white strawberry and why it is diffrent from the usual strawberry ? Happy holidays dear Nicole💜
Definitely gonna look for this in stores in Vietnam to try someday. Hopefully it's available cuz your way of introducing and explaining eggnog is really intriguing
As an American expat in Canada, I notice it's far more polarizing here as opposed to being a regional preference as I noticed with the ConUS. I am firmly of the Elvish sort, heavy on the spice, light on the rum.
In some countries in the middle east Eggnog it is added to coffee or tea, And the way it's done it's quite simple it's blending egg yolk with sugar until it's foam than add cinnamon for flavour then pour two or three tea spoons on cup of coffe or tea and vuala. 🤓 I love your accent your are one of the only few American that pronounces the "T" strongly , lovely. Good job .🙏🙏🙏🥀
I would honestly say that 90 percent of your followers are because of your beauty. I am one of them. But I'm also one of the ten percent that love your subjects. Keep them videos coming.
I love your video's and the enthusiasm you bring to all your topics. May I make a topic suggestion? Thank you! LOL I would love to see your presentation on the new concept of vertical farms, where they grow crops in large repurposed warehouse's. This past year was a tough year for farmers, so many people (and business's like Walmart, Krogers and McDonald's) are investing in vertical farms. Think of the $$$ McD's could save if they grew their own tomato's, lettuce! I've been told they already have their own fish farms, or used to at least... Tomato's and salad greens seem to be the principle crops, so what else can they produce - perhaps potato's? Grains? Green Peas? Cabbage? In our big cities many families on the lower rungs of the economy are without a place to shop for fresh food - will these alleviate some of this? Choose to report on this topic, or not....your manner and presentation's are outstanding! Every time I watch one of your video's I spend much of the time smiling....a total enjoyment. You could sell ice to an Eskimo and he would leave smiling! LOL
Growing up we made eggnog year round with this simple recipe: 1 egg, 2 tablespoons sugar, pinch of salt. Mix than add. 1 cup milk, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla. Season to taste with nutmeg. One time my sister accidentally made eggnog using 2 tablespoons salt, pinch of sugar some how dad still drank this rather salty eggnog!
Got an ad for deodorant at first. Drank swigs. Morrow may shine upon thy blessings of stank free constitutions. Unless asparagus thusly consumed. Pardon my sorry assault upon humour. Great video as always!
Its funny, just the other day I was standing in Target's dairy aisle wondering about eggnog ( you know whats in it and where it came from ) and here you are with an awesome video full of info! :D thanks for spreading xmas cheeers, lets get back to eggnogging ;)
Thanks for the upload...haven't seen one in a while I guess you and your team ha e been busy filming the olive oil episode n now u must be busy editing it...can't wait for it...I'm sure it'll be just as amazing as all the other videos. I now know more about egg nog than I ever did before. 😊
Wauw, I'm just in love with you. The way you present is so fascinating! Just subscribed to your channel to learn more about foods and your way of presenting as well. As a fresh Marketing graduate I could use a lot of tips ;)
Learning all about egg nog’s background history and physical composition stimulates the mind - it’s good to learn - but you don’t really need to know all that stuff. All that really matters is the taste and texture. Straight out of the carton it’s HEAVENLY. It’s THE DRINK OF THE GODS! Creamy… sweet… cold… and that WONDERFUL, unique egg nog FLAVOR!!!! SO - VERY - DELICIOUS!!!! It’s my only addiction in life.
I tried eggnog once and it tasted poorly, very sour and not very appealing. However, maybe it was a poorly made batch because I had it at a family gathering. Your video made me want to give eggnog a second chance and see if it tastes any different. Hopefully, it'll go better than the first time.
Wow i can't believe you actually mentioned Jersey in the Channel Islands. Whenever I tell people where I'm from they never know and they think of New Jersey in the US
For decades the Italians have been said to be speaking with their hands but my gosh! in the past 10 or 20 years you U.S.A.ians have beaten us by half! And then some!
Oh wow Nicole! You did it again with the best videos explaining the history on where and the name came from this absolutely the nog of the best. You are absolutely charming 😉 Thanks for sharing this great video.
I'm asian, always wondered what they meant about eggnog... Finally knew because of this channel. 😁

I’m Indian/Welsh and I thought it was egg milkshake
Eggnog found its way into the holiday just as shopping found its way into Christmas.
Good ol consumerism

We have same kind of drink here in Indonesia, it's called "bandrek" (no alcohol). Ordered it in special version with eggs.

So basically we need more alcohol in our nog. I think millions of people would agree to the terms.

Vanilla, Nutmeg, Cinnamon and Cardamon. Maple syrup, powdered egg yolks, powdered cream, whole milk, enough rum plus a pinch of salt.

In the Philippines, Eggnog is a type of biscuit. That's why I'm really suprised that it's a beverage in other countries.
The reason i subscribe to your shows is just to see you and hear your voice......meeeeooowww
“Make it quick” very cute. TY
I love this channel! 😄
Indonesian equivalent of eggnog is called STMJ an abbreviation of Susu Telur Madu Jahe (Milk, egg, honey and ginger)
Not quite, it's creamier and has more spices which gives a distinctive taste

My family always makes our own eggnog at home but we don't age it.
Nice to see you.
Here because I randomly thought of the scene in home alone where the Dad mentions eggnog
Reminds me of salep, a Turkish/Albanian drink made of eggs and milk. You put cinnamon on top
I have only tryed it non alcoholic and with white rum.
I have to try cherry and Whiskey
How does it taste?
Creamy, sweet, with warm spices..
In spanish its "Ponche de huevo", doesnt that sound tastier ?
In mexico it's rompope
Ponche de huevo no es lo mismo!
@@miguelare3 no, rompope es otra cosa. Parecidos, pero no es lo mismo.
Grog wasn’t rum. It was water mixed with rum to keep bacteria from growing inside of it, also thanks for the informative video

Eggnog in the Philippines: A biscuit/cracker 😆
Can you put it in an ice cream maker (minus the alcohol) and get eggnog ice cream?
People who think they don't like egg nog should try some home made nog. I always age mine make a batch the weekend after thanks giving for Christmas.
