Its hard to grow a fan base with slow rate of new chapters and the author's health has been so bad for years. There was nothing anyone could have really done. Just a sad situation all around.
While it's true D.Gray-Man doesn't get talked much in the west nowadays, the series does have a loyal fanbase in Japan. It even recently ranked 18 in a "Best 50 Manga of all time" poll.
Yeah especially lavi, he is doing pretty much nothing, it's kind of understandable since most of their story and roles are explained, while allen and kanda still have fuel and have important roles right now, but they still have a place in most people hearts since allen kanda lavi and lenalee are usually in the in the first 4 spots in popularity pool, also lenalee in previous had almost an bigger role than allen himself
I am still waiting for Lavi arc in the manga. I think the creator is going(or at least trying(or at least will) ) to do with Lavi the same as she did with Kanda. Because we barely know anything of Lavi. Also....It will be kind of awesome to go indepth into this character. There is so many things unknown of him(and Gramps too....remember the student that was mentioned that died but they say anything more....I am waiting that). I just want the manga to advance faster :''''''''''v

Honestly I Like the Noah especially Road and Tyki Mikk and I hope that Allen eventually succeeds the earl and leads them down a better path, becoming more of an anti hero in the process cuz honestly the black order don't deserve him.

I have to say, going into D. Gray man, I thought it wasn't going to be a good series. I thought it would be ok, but not good. Then i got the first omnibus. I think that was the fastest time I ever read a book. I absolutely loved it. The characters, the story, the villains, all the creative powers, the GREAT humor, etc. it's definitely one of my favorite series now
D Gray Man: a rare example of a series where the bad guys are so lovably quirky and weird that they're basically a secondary cast of protagonists in their own rights. I mean, they're more like frenemies to the Black Order if you think about it.
The creator/artist is having lots of issues in her life. That’s why this season took 8 years to come out. Since she’s been doing chapters very slowly or even going on hiatus, there’s not enough materials for the studio to make more episodes. That’s why there was only 13 episodes. My heart dropped when I heard that it came back in 2016 with this season. Still waiting and hoping for more.
Really!! D Gray is my top anime it deserves so much more for how dark, clever, sad, and how funny it is. Whatever some people just don't have any real tastes they just go for those lame anime's like Sao.

That still pissed me off, it annoys me that I use Crunchyroll and this is who mostly using the service, fucking crazy fan girls. Although as much as I love D Gray-Man it does have it's flaws and has become a bit too convoluted and that wasn't just in Hallow it happened way back in the original where the quality dropped a bit for the story(my guess being the mangakas health issues getting too much for her to handle) so I'm personally not sure if it should've won awards but if it was against Yuri on Ice I would've been screaming for D Gray-Man to win. But unfortunately no, I'm still extremely triggered over the fact Yuri on Ice won best animation, like wtf, Flip Flappers should've won best animation, the anime was drop dead gorgeous with such stunning animation, this is why you don't let 'fans' pick the winners because they obviously are going to fuck with the vote and give the award to something that doesn't deserve it. But enough of my ranting, the awards happened back in the beginning of year, it's long since passed
D Gray Man deserves so much more, but even so, it already has so much. Not only is the anime and manga good, but so is the fanbase. And as much as I can say that it deserves more, the state of the anime and manga so far, as well as the fanbase, are so wonderful and I’m glad I’ve joined the adventure!

Ah, about ten years ago my health went bad and I became bedridden permanently. So I ended up watching anime to pass time. I've watched over 1,000. I had a document with every one I'd watched listed. I wonder where it is? When you can't work, go places, or sleep much (insomnia), you tend to find yourself doing some serious binging. I like shounen anime as well. I'm fine with most categories, actually, other than yuri or yaoi stuff. If I find that list, I could give some people some good suggestions.
Anyone who thinks D Gray Man needs a remake is insane. The original show from 06' was one of the greatest anime series of all times. Let the classic be remembered as is. If it's revived, it should be a continuation of some sort. Like Hallow (but better). I like that this anime is a undiscovered gem.
Once the manga ends (if it does) in around 10 years I would love to see a remake for the complete thing. I could even watch it with my daughter as it airs while remembering my teenage years reading the manga.
despite the delays, the series is till in my personal top 20 anime of of all time. i just love the characters, story, world building and power growth. i remember watching they fight lvl 3 Akuma tooth and nail back in the day. Now they can fight lvl 4 and plus.

I’m just waiting for the day where Dgrayman gets a proper HxH style remake. The story is there, and the fan base is obviously big enough to warrant another season. We just need a different studio to get a hold of it. Seriously, if done right, this show could be up there with HxH and FMAB.

To everyone wondering wether or not this will have a new season soon, probably not. The mangaka has been dealing with carpool tunnel in her wrist, which makes it painful and hard for her to create manga chapters consistently. The manga is currently set to update about 4 times a year, which means that the manga is still not far off from where it left off here. So for D-Gray man to get a new season, it would take at least a few years to get enough manga chapters available to animate into another season. It’s terrible, as I know we all want more to watch, but I’m thankful that the author is still working on this story for us despite it being painful for her.

I’m not sure if you saw, but the main reason that she decided against continuing the anime was a combination of it catching up to the manga as well as a poster that the animation studio planed to release WITHOUT HER CONSENT that was very shamelessly yaoi baiting Kanda and Allen. I’m certainly sad that it didn’t get as much of a chance as it deserves, but I’d really blame the animation studio on this one
This opening is so good. The song fits so well and especially with the first scene at the start of the opening. It gives the perfect vibes and pulls you into the d gray man world, emotions and story. Especially if you've read the manga 'til the latest chapter. It's making me shiver and wanting more every single time. 😍❤❤

Mana is the Millennium Earl who's mind is split between two personalities. Kanda is still Kanda. The 14th is a dick. Shit goes 0-100 really quick. Oh, and Tim dies.
How do you think the 14th memories were imprinted in him. He was friends with them back then. But his memories and his body’s age had to be reverted in order for the 14th’s memories to rewrite Allen’s personality. Basically, this Allen is if you go overwrite a saved file that was your homework assignment, redo it from the start, and it ended up becoming better.

As much as I want another season there probably won't ever be one. The mangaka hated this adaptation and got on bad terms with the producers. Also we get like 4 chapters per year so we might never even get this manga completed

Mračni Vitez D.gray-man is the only anime so far that I liked all the openings too. Not sure if I have a favorite. The art change threw me off for a bit but once you get used to it, it's not bad. My only real complaint about Hallow is that it felt really rushed compared to the original. But I know a lot of people aren't fans of it.

Black Shark I've always found Tokyo Ghoul to be a bit overhyped. It's not bad or anything, but I didn't feel all that much empathy for the characters. I haven't read the manga, maybe it's better. The anime felt too rushed for me to get attached to any of the cast. Are the characters better developed in the manga? That may be something I should look into. ^-^

Jonathan Wilson well because i am a black woman who took the time to understand the whole premiss of the show and chose to watch it fully through(and read the manga) without objectifying it from the outside idk if you have watch and read the manga but there are as many darker skinnned "good guys" who actually are displayed as flesh tone wrather then the earls who are grey just as the akuma mostly are adding to the bleakness of there existence but thats just my opinion ❤💙💚💛💜

We have four chapters per year. Thats because of authors health problems. That makes us like 20 chapters aftrer Hallow. Not much, you can read it in two hours or less. That's also answer, why Hallow ended- we had no more material for it. The anime was fine with season 3 final episode showing the final fight end credit this season was not necessary

This opening is so good. The song fits so well and especially with the first scene at the start of the opening. It gives the perfect vibes and pulls you into the d gray man world, emotions and story. Especially if you've read the manga 'til the latest chapter. It's making me shiver and wanting more every single time. 😍❤❤

Mana is the Millennium Earl who's mind is split between two personalities. Kanda is still Kanda. The 14th is a dick. Shit goes 0-100 really quick. Oh, and Tim dies.

How do you think the 14th memories were imprinted in him. He was friends with them back then. But his memories and his body’s age had to be reverted in order for the 14th’s memories to rewrite Allen’s personality. Basically, this Allen is if you go overwrite a saved file that was your homework assignment, redo it from the start, and it ended up becoming better.

Oh gosh yes. I was always looking for someone else to comment on that part everywhere because it is just haunting to me. As well as a good nod to fandom -er, for ones up to date with manga- about where they were planning to end Hallow.

As much as I want another season there probably won't ever be one. The mangaka hated this adaptation and got on bad terms with the producers.
Also we get like 4 chapters per year so we might never even get this manga completed

I've always wondered why the Noah switched from fancy dress to these white outfits.
I believe it (as well as the new Black Order uniform design) was a change after a period of hiatus following recovery from a neck injury or something. Why she decided to change them though, I have no idea.

Hallow was still very good to me! It still has the most interesting parts of the manga. Hope to see a new one in 3 years! Hoshino is very creative so I hope she's proud of her work.
The first image in this OP of Allen, it actually hurts to look at him in so much pain. Mentally and physically... Am I the only one? He did nothing wrong! One of the most tragic anime character's I've come across. ;-;

D.gray-man is the only anime so far that I liked all the openings too. Not sure if I have a favorite. The art change threw me off for a bit but once you get used to it, it's not bad. My only real complaint about Hallow is that it felt really rushed compared to the original. But I know a lot of people aren't fans of it.

Black Shark I've always found Tokyo Ghoul to be a bit overhyped. It's not bad or anything, but I didn't feel all that much empathy for the characters. I haven't read the manga, maybe it's better. The anime felt too rushed for me to get attached to any of the cast.
Are the characters better developed in the manga? That may be something I should look into. ^-^

Jonathan Wilson well because i am a black woman who took the time to understand the whole premiss of the show and chose to watch it fully through(and read the manga) without objectifying it from the outside idk if you have watch and read the manga but there are as many darker skinnned "good guys" who actually are displayed as flesh tone wrather then the earls who are grey just as the akuma mostly are adding to the bleakness of there existence but thats just my opinion ❤💙💚💛💜

Manga is still on-going.
We have four chapters per year. Thats because of authors health problems.
That makes us like 20 chapters aftrer Hallow. Not much, you can read it in two hours or less.
That's also answer, why Hallow ended- we had no more material for it.
