So if u dont want SPOILERS dont read from here: Tbh although im no longer a full on fan of DGM like i was years ago it will always have a place in my heart and i loved watching these characters grow. That said, Lenalee is such a strong character. I get the frustration ppl feel about her being “useless” and “annoying”. I could see why ppl feel that way but i think that it needs to be understood that she’s just a kid. A 16 year old girl in the middle of a war that has suffered abuse and tragedy at the hands of enemies and even her so called allies. She was alone and vulnerable who’s been forced to help an organization that kidnapped her from her only family and that has tormented her. She’s just a kid who has been fighting and throwing herself at the flames trying to protect the people she loves. Her entire life she has gotten used to being the one who protects, who fights while ignoring her own well being. She’s used to being the one ppl go to for help. Used to having that kind of power and control in situations beyond anyone’s imagination. I mean can u imagine how scary the millennium earl and the noah and akuma are?? And having to fight them… i kno for a fact many would have given up if they were in her shoes. So i can understand why she struggled so much when she thought she no longer had her powers. When she thought that a boy she grew to care about so much like family was dead, when so many other people she grew up with, fought with, and looked up to have died because of what happened in the edo arc and when hq was under attack. She’s doing the best she can and i kno she is very aware of how “useless” she is. She is very aware yet she pushes herself to fight and go forward. If not for her sake then for her friends. Really, her innocence isnt all there is to her, she is so much more than that. She is a sister and a friend to many characters in dgm, and she’s helping others to continue on with life and to keep fighting. When i see her during the edo arc, i see a kid who’s tired, scared, and yet determined to stay beside everyone. To not leave anyone behind. Shes not weak, useless or annoying. She’s trying the best she can, which is way more than many would be able to do. I can see why her innocence leveled up the way it did. It saw her potential, her love and determination. Sorry for the long rant but watching this fight again reminded me why DGM is such a beautiful series. And i know its just a show but lenalee is great and i wanted to share my thoughts. I miss them so much and im glad hoshino hasnt abandoned it all. ☺️ It all feels so nostalgic 🥲

But the mangá is still being released (after having had many hiatuses), so the story is still ongoing. It just happens that it is currently being released 1 chapter per 3 months, so... might take a long while for it to end, and even then it's not a guarantee that it will be adapted to anime.
I still go back and rewatch this anime. It’s my favorite series. Edo arc and beyond are so good! Hallow was epic and I’m hoping for a season 2 eventually

Yes!!! Innocent sorrow was the first music I fell in love with while watching TV. Left quite a big impact on a 11 year old me haha. I think because of that, I grew up liking those type of music

Once upon a time this was my favorite anime ever and I had the biggest crush on Yu Kanda. 11-12 year old me was the ultimate dork, I missed those times ❤
I rewatch this show often, and I still think my only nitpick is that a lot of the actions scenes are lacking animation wise. There are definitely places that they could have benefitted putting more work into them, but honestly, for the time and the budget they had, pretty amazing. Tyki best character.

I first saw D Gray Man like around 2018 or 2019 ( the year I got hooked at anime ) I was probably 10 or 11 . Animax is where I watch most animes ( that time I didn't realise how some of them are underrated , D Gray Man for example ) so while watching some comercial break from it there appeared the Dgm hallow and I was so interested by it . Back then I didn't realise Hallow was a sequal but I didn't care because just looking at the art and the theme song got me thinking " Wow , this anime looks intresting " I wasn't able to watch the full episode because if school so I watch the episode where Allen was confronted by Apocryphos and Tyki and Road came to help him sort off and the part where Allen bid Lenalee goodbye ( tha time I ship them but now I see them as just friends ) . So I was so happy and I was hungry for more and what comes next . Then next year in 2019 I learned theres another one which I then realise that the one I watched was a sequel so the one I was watching was the real one or Season 1 . I wasn't able to watched the full series becausr again I have school . But I remember watching the first episode and the arc where Allen and Lavi first met Krory ( wonder if I spell't that correctly ) and maybe the time Allen and Lenalee first met Miranda and when there on that ship sailing to Japan to look for Cross and the time Allen looses his left arm and Lenalee losses her long hair and the Noahs arc one and the headquarter's attack . I remember vibing the music everytime I hear , even in the bathroom while I shower. I remember hummung it during class quietly . Ever since 2020 hit I didn't have time to rewatch it because I took an interest in some animes like Attack on titan or some but now for some reason , while I was minding my own business I came across a too 10 underrated anime video while I was scrolling to youtube and there I saw D gray man again after maybe 3 or 4 years later .then the nostalgic memory came coming back to me and so I decide to look for it again since I now know that you can watch online in laptops or cellphone . I found it and now I began rewatching and watching some episodes I haven't watched yet and it just gave me so many memories when I used to watched the TV . I thank D Gray Man for being part of my childhood , ( even thought I just realise that it's aired in 2006 the anime and that the sequal I watched in 2018 was aired in 2016) and now that I'm in my teenagehood I can still rewatches and still feel like I just first watched it . Honestly I was so sad that this anime is so underrated and that the anime is cancelled .
wow thanks for sharing your life story, I think d.gray-man touched a lot of our hearts in the exact same way as you. Such powerful nostalgia and emotions when I hear any of the dgrayman's OST or when I see the anime again.

小学の頃、近所の本屋でアニメ化するからと言って何気に貰ったブクマがDグレで、当時要らないからと捨ててしまった。アニメが始まると同時に弟も一緒になってDグレにハマった。(今でもブクマを捨ててしまったのを後悔してる。)そこからアニメがダークファンタジーって事もあって、当時小学生の私は凄く魅力的なアニメだった。(一人の元帥が死に追い込んだ、ノアの一族が少しトラウマかな) 主人公のアレンに一目惚れして、そこから白髪の青年キャラが好みになったな…。

I rewatch this show often, and I still think my only nitpick is that a lot of the actions scenes are lacking animation wise. There are definitely places that they could have benefitted putting more work into them, but honestly, for the time and the budget they had, pretty amazing. Tyki best character.

Im glad I stumbled upon this anime while watching animax, like 4 years ago. Man this anime is my favorite

I first saw D Gray Man like around 2018 or 2019 ( the year I got hooked at anime ) I was probably 10 or 11 . Animax is where I watch most animes ( that time I didn't realise how some of them are underrated , D Gray Man for example ) so while watching some comercial break from it there appeared the Dgm hallow and I was so interested by it . Back then I didn't realise Hallow was a sequal but I didn't care because just looking at the art and the theme song got me thinking " Wow , this anime looks intresting " I wasn't able to watch the full episode because if school so I watch the episode where Allen was confronted by Apocryphos and Tyki and Road came to help him sort off and the part where Allen bid Lenalee goodbye ( tha time I ship them but now I see them as just friends ) . So I was so happy and I was hungry for more and what comes next . Then next year in 2019 I learned theres another one which I then realise that the one I watched was a sequel so the one I was watching was the real one or Season 1 . I wasn't able to watched the full series becausr again I have school . But I remember watching the first episode and the arc where Allen and Lavi first met Krory ( wonder if I spell't that correctly ) and maybe the time Allen and Lenalee first met Miranda and when there on that ship sailing to Japan to look for Cross and the time Allen looses his left arm and Lenalee losses her long hair and the Noahs arc one and the headquarter's attack . I remember vibing the music everytime I hear , even in the bathroom while I shower. I remember hummung it during class quietly . Ever since 2020 hit I didn't have time to rewatch it because I took an interest in some animes like Attack on titan or some but now for some reason , while I was minding my own business I came across a too 10 underrated anime video while I was scrolling to youtube and there I saw D gray man again after maybe 3 or 4 years later .then the nostalgic memory came coming back to me and so I decide to look for it again since I now know that you can watch online in laptops or cellphone . I found it and now I began rewatching and watching some episodes I haven't watched yet and it just gave me so many memories when I used to watched the TV . I thank D Gray Man for being part of my childhood , ( even thought I just realise that it's aired in 2006 the anime and that the sequal I watched in 2018 was aired in 2016) and now that I'm in my teenagehood I can still rewatches and still feel like I just first watched it . Honestly I was so sad that this anime is so underrated and that the anime is cancelled .
wow thanks for sharing your life story, I think d.gray-man touched a lot of our hearts in the exact same way as you. Such powerful nostalgia and emotions when I hear any of the dgrayman's OST or when I see the anime again.
