Yeah I think it’s more that she is just sort of a more forward thinking Queen. And wanted to give him the position and give herself some time to just enjoy the rest of her life. But I wanted to point out the rumors too because they’re strong. But like I said alleged.

Give them a break ,her reasons for abdicating are her own ,if she has health problems good on her for doing this now and not waiting until she is incapacitated,no one knows if Fredericks straying is true or not so leave them alone to enjoy their lives ,,A beautiful lady Mary is and deserves her new role 🙏🦋

She did not say she was lonely. Loneliness and isolation are some of her causes she fights for through her foundation. She just did a show/documentary about it. She started fighting for this cause because she experienced loneliness and deep grief after her mother died when Mary was in her twenties. Also, you don’t abdicate on two months notice, so whatever happened with that woman is not the cause of this. The Queen clearly has trouble getting around and seems to still be in pain even after her back surgery.
My husband commented that he felt frosty treatment from his own cousins when his indiscretion was revealed. Frederick is certainly feeling it. Most reports are about Mary becoming queen 👑😍

Dinner? He stayed the night! He got caught! He also maintained relationships with past lovers after he married Mary, and let the public find out. Fred has always been quite an awful husband and Mary was starting to lose her composure and was about to walk. That’s why this happened.

It would have been disaster for Mary to walk out at this point in her reign given that she is getting even older as Queen, Mary knows all the ropes of Royal life and has never had a misstep and is adored by the Danish. If they divorced that puts a spammer in soooo many aspects of their royal institution. Always awkward to have an ex mother to a future king running around single especially still with children under 18. Creates so many dilemmas.

I agree I think that it’s a little far-fetched, but I think it’s important for us to know what’s out there. And if he is sort of a serial man, that’s having an affair it’s going to continue anyhow.
@@HotForHistory what is out there is that the Danes do not care about the affair at all, it has not affected Kronprins Frederik's popularity in his country at all, and HM the Queen does not care about what the international media has to say. This is all just for clout and it's so sad when it involves spreading misinformation about such an endearing family.
However since the affair rumours they both don’t seem to have eyes 👀 contacting with each other although they both are smiling to the public! Seems like Mary can’t 👀 at him in the 👀

It just looked a bit suspicious and like he might have had a one night stand.
But even if he was unfaithful, that would surely be just as much of a motivation for the Queen to stay on longer until the scandal blew over.

I believe this is his second time being “caught”. I don’t think the timing of her abdication is a coincidence either. I’m sure there are some truth to the Queen’s statement about her health but there is also one undeniable fact and that is monarchs don’t get divorced. The last monarch I can think of getting divorced is king Henry VIII and that didn’t go well for England. I can definitely see this as a factor in the Queen’s decision.
💯 As soon as I saw the Queen Margrethe's abdication announcement, I knew it had to do with saving Frederick's scandalous reputation. It's not the 1st time he's been caught blatantly flaunting his mistresses. Poor Mary, she has alot to sacrifice for her marriage and the country. She definitely is a great asset of Denmark.

The notion that the Queen is abdicating because her son has had an alleged affair is totally ludicrous. Nobody in Denmark is even talking about this as a viable reason. Rumors, especially rumors in the foreign trashy media, has always swirled around this couple. In Denmark, most of us do not believe these rumors.
Do you really think that our own media wouldn’t be all over this if it was true? It would be headline news and it isn’t. Only one trashy magazine has even mentioned the Spanish crap.
The Queen is stepping down due to her health. She had a very big operation on her back in February 2023 and feels that she doesn’t have the physical strength to carry on as our monarch. She doesn’t want to do things halfway and never has. Her grandson, the new Crown Prince, just turned 18 and is now of legal age. Her decision, while unprecedented because Danish monarchs traditionally stay on the throne until they drop, is quite understandable.
Crown Prince Frederik is no lightweight “party prince”. He is humble, down-to-earth, modest, low-key and very approachable. He has a full university degree in political science, the first Danish monarch in history with such an extensive education. He has full military training. His military titles are earned, not bestowed. He has always challenged himself to do better. He qualified for the frog man corps, our most elite military unit. They don’t give a shit who you are. If you don’t qualify, you don’t get in.
In 2000, he was on a four month 3000 kilometer dogsled team trek in temperatures reaching down to -47° Celsius, in the most northern regions of Greenland with members of the Sirius Patrol, another elite military unit patrolling northeastern Greenland. He was a full member of this six man team, pulling his weight and doing chores like the rest of them. This was no journey for sissies or mammas boys. He also endeared himself to the local population in Qaanaaq, who would have had no time for him at all if he had been a pompous ass full of airs and graces. Many of them have become his personal friends.
He is as popular among our people as the Queen is and as is Crown Princess Mary. They will make a good Royal couple.
Good for you Julianneheinsdorf, stand up for your monarch. The Americans love to criticise our senior royals and delight in rumours of affairs but their heads of state come and go and always divide, never unite, the population. Give me a thousand year old monarchy any day for continuity and a solid figurehead. When one of the lesser royals goes to the US they can always make millions by using the titles that Americans 'don't recognise' 😅

If that affair is true I dont think abdication was to save marriage but the crown. Why? Imagine divorced king, with mistress, huge loss of pro crown people who adore Mary. It would be kinda smart yet narcissistic/toxic move to do that before they divorced so she will have to stay in Denmark even if shell do what she wants for a price of pretending love. I'm torn between if its because of her health issues or to save the crown. Fredrick was never a good boy more like a playboy and never grew up. Even if that meeting was innocent as public figure he should think how his actions might look like for public

Well, this just makes me sick if this is true. I bet Daisy and Lily had a LOT to talk about behind closed doors. They were both cut from the same cloth, yet their children went completely off the page. I find it interesting that the other son continually finds jobs outside the country as well. Just saying. This all will be very interesting to watch.
