    This one is fantastic and I agree that it’s expensive. Creed Viking is currently $495 for 100ml in the USA. That’s almost twice as much per ml as what Dior is charging. Creed pricing is insane here!

    Thank you brother. I purchased 60ml today and I have to say it is utterly beautiful, high class and almost niche. It’s my favourite from my range. Compliment getter and I feel Soooo confident and with my age 60, it works. Mature and professional .

    I actually appreciate the toned down projection. I found the EDT was just too "reach out and grab ya" for my tastes. Elixir smells so good too... I'm saving my pennies for it.

    60 ml is no problem if that's your only drawback, it's nucular!! Two sprays lasts all day, it's so strong that if you even handle the bottle and there is some Fragrance on the cap or sprayer it will totally overwhelm what ever you are wearing

I totally agree with you about the price point of Elixir. Would there be any way that you could possibly do a comparison review between Dior Sauvage Elixir and Alexandria Fragrances Savauge Elixir? Great review. I don’t usually blind buy but the hype got me on this one. To me it smells like 75% Drakkar Noir and 25% BR 540. Doesn’t really work for me. Would rather have spent the $ on a backup bottle of Viking. Viking is a 10/10 for me.

  • @StevenTwoTwo
    @StevenTwoTwo 3 года назад +13

    Hey Joy. Good review. I appreciate your opinion on this, but I would respectfully disagree that it's not worth the money.
    I think the quality of Elixir is excellent, it's top notch quality for a designer fragrance.
    You're right that it doesn't smell like Drakkar or Sauvage, Drakkar gives a similar vibe but it's nowhere near the quality, intensity or performance or Sauvage Elixir. This isn't really like Sauvage and could have even been outside of the line.
    I believe if this fragrance was released by a niche house, exactly the same scent and performance, then nobody would be complaining if it was even more expensive. It's better than a number of Niche fragrances that I've smelled. I would say it's somewhere between designer and niche, and when you consider it's in the price range of the cheaper niche fragrances, it makes it worth the money. I don't think it'll be the Dior best seller though as a lot of people will still be put off by the price (that's what I'm hoping because Sauvage EDT got way too popular and I don't want the same for this!)
    That's how I feel, at least. Cheers 🙂

    • @Andy_T79
      @Andy_T79 3 года назад +2

      You'll be fine the sauvage sheep won't go near this stuff... too much depth and character for them!
      I agree, that Dior is the best designer fragrance brand by far for quality of compounds, performance, range, pushing boundaries and if this were in a niche bottle people would gladly pay x3 times the price for it!... It's actually a bargain given the potency of the juice.
      Azzaro is just poorly blended, synthetic trash imo and it's like comparing x10 cheese burgers to a filet steak 🤦‍♂️

    • @jay2die4
      @jay2die4 3 года назад +1

      I think you're really trying hard to justify this my friend. Granted the smell is decent but they are definitely milking on the success of the Sauvage branding.
      Entry to your mid tier Niche houses like Parfums De Marly on discounters is available for around the same price for 125ml. Amouage for 100 ml. This doesn't come close to justifying the price but people will fanboy and pay up like you do. Again, not ranting against the smell, but it doesn't come close to asking price and neither is it a world changing mind boggling scent that warrants, not to mention it's not using any particularly expensive ingredients.
      Half my collection is niche as well and i got myself a 5ml sample of Elixir cause "hype" and i liked it sure, but no way am i paying this amount. Even at 100ml it's hard to justify but atleast it won't kill your conscience.

    • @StevenTwoTwo
      @StevenTwoTwo 3 года назад +1

      @@jay2die4 funnily enough I don't even like Sauvage these days, it's overplayed, and I only have two other Dior fragrances. So certainly not a fanboy or a sheep. I just believe this is a really good scent and has great quality for a designer fragrance. Each to their own and all that. If you like anything enough then it's worth the price, I happen to like this enough to be happy with the price. You don't, and that's fine too. We don't need to fall into mocking others for having a different opinion. You're right that they're milking the success though, like I say, it could have been released outside of the line. They should have made it part of the Privee collection or something.

    • @jay2die4
      @jay2die4 3 года назад +2

      @@StevenTwoTwo I'm certainly not mocking, and I understand the value is what people are willing to pay, but in this case imho it happens to be deceit by Dior. They've literally amassed millions of fans through Sauvage EDT and now sold them a somewhat niche quality smelling perfume for an exorbitant price.
      To put it into perspective, I'm from India and can buy a Parfums De Marly 125 ml bottle for roughly 17,000. Savage Elixir is 16,000 for 60 ml. So for 100 ml of Elixir I would pay 26,666/- and for an equal 125ml I would pay 33,333/-. Literally doule per ml. Tell me if thats not a money grabbing move by Dior. For that amount you can buy Roja Dove for MSRP.

    • @Andy_T79
      @Andy_T79 3 года назад +1

      @@jay2die4 I paid £76 +£5 of points back!... your obviously a dumbass who pays retail 🤦‍♂️
      You're totally wrong about PDM, Layton is currently £145 for 75ml at the discounters and it doesn't even perform like the original batches did (owned both) as it's been reformulated since.
      And I don't hear you say anything about Interlude when you mention Amouage, with their 53 and black iris? Also their other planed releases?.... all fragrance houses release flankers especially when they are a hit, they're in the business of making money at the end of the day.... just like you are in the business of scamming elderly westerners of their life savings in your con-artist call center! 😆

I really love the parfum version, but I went to smell elixir on Saturday and I didnt care for the opening at first, the scent just transforms into this beautiful niche like fragrance. And if price is an issue, just stick to clones.. also how is Viking cheaper than Sauvage elixir? Please share your plug bro. Sauvage elixir may not be a wise buy for someone who has no fougere fragrance and is looking to get a cheap fougere to start a collection. But for those who already owns a number of fougeres, elixir is not a bad purchase tbf

    Hello, I tried the elixir version of dior today and last week and I think that it is very good but in a weird way. I cannot say that I am in love with the scent nor that I do not like it.
    It is good in a weird way to my nose it smells heavy and if you wear it during cold weather it comes off as more masculine, deep rich smell that if you’re in a place where people smoke, the cigarettes combine with the scent in an amazing way. Cons are that it is too pricey. I am 22 so my opinion on the scent might change with my fragrance journey!

    9:00 but have you considered that the current elixirs available now all contains the original formulation for sauvage elixir? Imagine how the scent would change after reformulations? The current elixirs we have now would shoot to the moon on ebay lol. So dude, just get it!!!! Lol

    Depends where you live though and Dior is better priced in UK and France...I've just bought mine for £76 in a UK department store and it'll be even cheaper at duty-free..... Azzoro is synthetic trash imo.

    Who are these absolute insufferable twits that complain about the length of your videos and talking about where you lived in Malaysia? It's your channel, you don't have to explain or apologize for anything...ever!

    I've paid more for worse smelling and worse performing scents. I think it's worth the money. 2-3 sprays equals all day performance.
