One of the highlights of this franchise, even though it still was a 1v1 game at the time. The excellence and consistency of presentation, soundtrack, stages and art work (portraits, etc) is almost unmatched in the whole history of the franchise. Only XvSF tops it, from the following year.
First time the player was able to play as Magneto and Juggernaut without secret codes... a great game! Thanos' storyline was more well known than the Children of the Atom storyline, it was even more fun to play as Spider-Man or Iron Man knowing the whole plot.
I lost hopes in a sequel, and even if it existed, i lost faith in the future of the franchise anyway. Because Marvel's face nowadays is not the cartoons that fuel our nostalgia, it's the movies... so that is what is going to be promoted. The Marvel videogames from the 90s used the cartoons to represent the heroes because that's what was being promoted globally by the franchise.
I remember you can activate a Special Object atack with active gem and half circle + start button to launch pumpkins and cheeses and if you kill oponent with this the object apear below the life bar 🤔
Juggernaut was done dirty in this game

X-Men vs SF gives me that unfinished game vibe compared to this game, perhaps that's why Capcom tried to fix it with MSH vs SF not long after.
