What is your Path of Exile 2 hot take? Would you like more of these while we are in a PoE2 news drought? Let me know! EDIT: Jeeze, I didn't even think about my hair. OPE.
My bigger concerns: 1. they will make crafting not complex but complicated again as it is in PoE1 when you need 3rd party tool and still the majority of players have no idea how to craft 2. Too many materials (related to point 1) so people don't even know what to farm and all those materials give you fewer crafting choices than you have in LE. LE is a good example here of how to create a complex crafting system that gives you tons of options but is not complicated and quite straightforward. 3. In PoE1 the end game turned into a ChaosOrb farming simulator to buy gear that is the result of points 1 and 2 and I'm afraid they will do this again. 4. they will repeat the same mistake with totally OP flasks where you can get more armor for example from flasks than from a tree or gear. 5. they will create totally OP gear like MageBlood which is the result of point 4. 6. They will not speed up at higher levels. IMHO with every level you should get +0.2% of movement and action speed so the game would be faster by default. 7. Too many useless stats on gear. Most of the builds use basic stats (mostly to cap resistances) and all these conditional stats are meaningful and nobody uses them. 8. They will not include in-game AuctionHouse and we still will have to use a 3rd party tool and nonsensical mechanism to whisper + visit players in their hideouts. In general, GGG has a tendency to overengineering stuff and instead of making complex systems they are making them complicated... overcomplicated.
the dichotomy of people saying the game is dumbed down, while also complaining that they won’t be able to just turn their brains off to play their meta builds. Never fails to get a chuckle out of me.
You are %100 correct for "please make it more understandable.". I tried poe once and felt like hit a wall of don't know what to do. There wasn't any guide or sth like that. even finding the point where to go was so hard and unclear.
Agree, a lot of the complaints will be disgruntled POE1 players who can't zoom and boom. GGG shouldn't cave to them and stick with their vision of having a game that looks clean, has no jank, and rewards players with impactful combat and meaningful skill interactions.
@@newax_productions2069 jonathan rogers: "you will still feel like a god in the end game.....its just that we don't want it to be soooo ridiculous that a person looks at the screen and can't even understand what is happening"
one of the biggest complaints of many video game sequels is not being different enough to justify a whole new game, if GGG just makes endgame fast pace 1-2 skill spam like PoE1 then they wouldve just been better off spending all that time and resources making leagues the size of SoK more regularly. Let PoE 2 be its own thing
Compare diablo 2's system with what ggg is doing with poe 2 Very similar and nearly 1 to 1 Very hyped with poe 2, the true successor to diablo 2 and poe 1
That is exactly right, I knew from the VERY START, right from exilecon last year when we seen this was going to be a separate game, I could tell immediately they were gunning for the heels of Blizzard. And they will, people don't want to talk about it because it's contentious and brings a lot of negativity, and some people are coping too hard, but it's true. And GGG SHOULD do this, it's a very wise business move. Blizzard is failing, and no I don't mean "dead game! dead game!", the company is and has been failing and D4 was the biggest letdown I think I've ever seen from Blizzard even above WoW Shadowlands. They're full corrupt and D4 made that clear as day. Now is the time to strike. You want to take market share ASAP if you're presented with the opportunity, and lets be real, POE was always the spiritual successor of Diablo 2.
visual clarity is linked to the speed of the game, the faster it is the less you will se doesnt matter how much clarity they try to bring when everything is blurring or goes faster than ur reaction speed.
no, not really. Even if you zoom super fast in poe 1, you can still react to individual monster attacks. The problem in poe 1 is just that the screen becomes so cluttered with mobs at times that it becomes impossible to keep track of every dangerous mob so the solution for most builds is to hit the mobs before they hit you.
@@grigsie lmao. It's not split, and it's not small. This is definitely one of the takes of all time. Btw, if you're constantly afraid of "splitting" opinion, do you know who you are? Ubisoft. Cowardly, averse to innovation, making games for everyone so that they never make anything new or inspired. Experimentation creates division, but you also don't say anything worth listening to without it.
All those ppl talking about speed just don’t understand that actual good combat has to be slow, so it’s impactful, dynamic and interactive. If you one shot everything there is no combat at all
The community is why this game is successful. It's why this dork is able to make a living off this game. Not listening to the community is why d4 is more like d3 than d2.
Thank you tri for all of these videos . Keep pushing forward, I hope you get enough traction to do this comfortably full time. You deserve it man. Can't wait for the next one
How many of us play or played Diablo 2? POE 2 looks like it plays like that game. Sure you can zoom zoom with teleport but it is slower overall, and yet fun. I think this is the target GGG is trying to hit. Visual clearity, good looking, and depth. I don't think thats a bad thing.
Hottest take: You will be able to play the game without having to open three separate tools and spend a week planning a build. Take Last Epoch as an example. I didn't need to search up any guides. Didn't need to have a "build planner." Didn't need to watch 150,000 crafting videos to make an item for myself. Hell, the game even has a built-in loot filter you can set up (not download it from a third-party website). So yeah, I'm hoping PoE 2 will be much, much more intuitive and that you'll be able to just pick a character and start creating your build as you're trying out different things. I'm even considering playing in SSF, just for this reason alone. I want to see how far I can make it on my own.
"5 projectiles with the power of 100" i've always disliked the 100 projectiles, all bouncing and returning, it's unpleasant to look at haha. I just want to aim at enemy, shoot/bonk, enemy takes damage.
@@newax_productions2069 yeah its not the build variety, massive seasonal content drops, over a decade of existing content, and the highest quality content in the genre that brought people to the game, its the speed that makes PoE1 successful....
I dont disagree that some slowing down could benefit, but casual folks should remember. Slower game dosent mean that insane wealth acquisition gap between you and better players will change.
There's no doubt there will be a divide between POE1 and POE2 players. There are many that love the fast one-button-screen-clearing builds. I get it. It's not for me. I may be in the minority, but what I enjoy in ARPGs is creating different kinds of builds. Viable or Not. It's not all about the endgame for me. I did enjoy it when I got there and you can cater to the type of game that you enjoy from the multitude of different endgame mechanics but that's not the most important thing to me. I appreciate the Vision Jonathan and the team has for POE2. He's so passionate about how skills interact with varying combos etc. That's what I'm looking forward to in POE2. Not the one button focused builds that are in POE2. As a minion player it's nice to see that there are minions that will have their own skill attached (Skelelton Snipers firing poison cloud for instance) not just spamming SRS or Absolution. I'm already envisioning a DOT build with Essence Drain and contagion with other unknown totems. I'm so looking forward to POE2. I tried to give D4 the benefit of the doubt. Installed it again yesterday to see if I was wrong. Nope! Unistalled it today. Build variety sucks. I pick the same skills for my Necromancer that I had before. Why did I torture myself? I already disliked D4 and to think it would change my opinion? Not!! Regardless. Love your passion Tri. POE2 can't arrive soon enough. I'm most anxious to play Witch, Huntress, Sorc, Merc, and Druid.
The only concern i have about poe2 is that if it's super interactive and i cant turn off my brain i wont be willing to grind. I dont want to have to run the same boss 100 times to get a specific drop if i cant turn off my brain. Im fine with it being more active/interactive as long as its not as grindy as poe1 which is concerning considering its ggg.
Look at it this way, if you play a moba or any game where your character has a fixed skill set, then you usually get used to that character after some time. And you just subconciously use your skillset. I think once a player will craft a build with skillsets that feel good to you, it will come naturally you will just dodge weave and clear, at least hopefully
There’s a lot of takes that I don’t mind if they go one way or the other. I just hope that a lot of skills & archetypes will be viable! I always enjoy leagues with a wide diversity of builds
Hum. A thing to keep in mind regarding the early stage following nov 15th: GGG will not go in blind as they did in PoE 1. The general direction of the game plus the eventual problems/player complaints are most likely already anticipated. I think that in many ways, philosophically and concretely, they are much more confident which will be apparent in the unique gameplay, art, story etc. Less improvised more planned basically.
I mean the way they market the game I agree with hot take #1. The problem is they don't market the game at the same tempo they will launch it most of the time so there's literally no way for us to tell what the game will really be like. I mean this game went from what was the equivalent of a highschool project to a multimillion dollar IP so I trust they know what they're doing marketing wise. But for me personally this just doesn't cut it. They make it look less fun for me and if it did have a box price (I know it doesn't) I'd wait for the free demo or the release so I can see what it's actually like before I bought it. But that does mean I will with some possibility pick it up just to quit week 1 and get back on the PoE1 grind.
I think they should make the best gear and weapons in the game make the game feel mindless, almost like you have to work for it. Once you get the items that are hard to get then the game becomes more mindless and your able to chill and spam whatever gem you have slotted on the item
They've mentioned Diablo 2 as inspiration for PoE2 numerous times. If the goal was to ramp the speed to PoE1 then we'd just be getting 2 and seeing 1 dying down. They are wanting to keep PoE1 up, why would do that if the sequel is going to play the exact same way? I think PoE2 will INTENTIONALLY be much slower than the 1st. If you want the speed play 1, if you want a tactical slower paced reactive game play 2. Just what I get from the devs during interviews.
That first one, POE one wasn’t necessarily a fast game when it released. People had to master it. I’m sure after a few months of POE 2, things will feel a bit more familiar
I don't think there's any problem with making the game easy for those who want it to be, by allowing for choice in difficulty levels. The HUGE problem with D4 is that even the hardest starting difficulty is incredibly easy. You have to wait until lvl 50 for the game to get hard. WTF? As long as PoE allows you to make the game hard from the beginning, it'll be great.
"You"ll get used to the game and relax" - if it's reactive, by definition, no, you won't relax - you'll learn to be on-alert all the time or you'll die all the time
reactive doesn't need to be fast paced, it can just be "oh a pack, I use [aoe skill]", "oh an armored rare, I use armor break", "oh this one is resistant to physical damage, I can use my phys to cold skill." it's like chess, you are reacting to what your opponent is doing, but once you know what they are likely to do, you don't have to think that hard to select a best option.
Less is more. The older i get it's less about the quantity of things, it's about the quality. Better detail in simple things over many many choices that makes you stressed to manage. As a former DOTA2 player, WoTLK raid leader and Quake 3 arena competitive player...now it's my time to chill and enjoy the sights over the "skill"
My biggest concern at this point with PoE 2 is how it relates to console players. Console (PS5, in particular, unsure of Xbox) just received the native port and the difference is night and day. It's now much, much closer to the experience you get on PC, in terms of performance but with controller controls (having played both, personally.) Console players are eating good right now. So PoE 2 is going to have to knock it out of the park to keep (at least console players) on board, in my opinion. I have no doubt that players will still play PoE 2, but I just think console players in particular will be more likely to jump ship if PoE 2 doesn't have staying power. Perhaps this part is my "hot take", the reason I think this is problematic is the "endgame conundrum". Diablo 4 saw a massive player dropoff not long after release, most citing "lack of endgame content". PoE 2 is uniquely in between a rock and a hard place in that respect, I'd say. They can, naturally, port over a ton of the excellent end game content from PoE 1, though at the risk of "scaring off" new players with the "overwhelming" abundance of endgame stuff. Or they can keep it simpler for newer players, but risk losing players similar to D4, particularly PoE 1 players who are gonna be thinking along the lines of how the endgame on PoE 1 feels better, so, time to switch back. Or worse, the rumors I've seen in various places that PoE 2 won't have an endgame _at all_ at launch. I think that would be a huge misstep. I guess, ultimately, GGG has a fairly big balancing act ahead of them. Edit: 13:25 Controller being peak ARPG gameplay is actively reason #1 I play (PoE 1) on console almost exclusively vs on PC. I hate the control scheme on PC.
Also, I should add, this is just concerns from the outside looking in. I don't share a lot of these opinions like "if PoE 2 is zoomy we riot". I'm gonna play PoE 2 and plan to stick with it and watch it grow, in addition to my PoE 1 addiction. I'm just a worry wort.
D4 be more like: one bugged mechanic holds up an entire class and defines all its builds. Which also means you're playing a Skill X build but don't even push that skill because you only need it to proc the bugged passive that does all of the damage lol
@@TheExplodingCore It's been like this since DAY ONE D4 was released. Currently is the ultra powerful Sorc "lightning" build that no other builds come even close. Very sad.
16:45 i agree with the upcoming statement about poe 2 probably being deeper with the skill gems. cant just have have 4 "increase fire dmg" across all spells. however this could still also be a downside.
I think this whole discussion can be boiled down to "there is a reason they split poe 1 and 2". So it can be 2 very different games and poe2 doesnt have to do the same as the first one.
I do sense a bit of elitism coming from PoE1 players from the discord, Reddit, and other places. Seems as if they like their game being complex and being the only ones that can understand it, I get it. If they don't like the tutorials/guides in PoE2 fine GGG can add an option to skip them. I desperately wanted to get into and like PoE1, I made it into the level 70's and got to some early maps, however after that the various layered systems added over so many years of leagues and patches just left me scratching my head especially on crafting and how to otherwise better my character. So I hope the best PoE2 tutorial/guide they add is for crafting. I love everything Jonathan is saying, and I want to play this game at the very start when it is in its "simplest" form so I can have my best chance at comprehending it this time around and not miss out on what I know is going to be a great game.
You are delusional if you think poe 2 going to be easier or simpler, yeah maybe not going to have 20 different league mechanics, but still insane amount of ascendancy, huge talent tree, 100% harder bosses, you die boss goes full hp, zones are reseting, getting a gem is harder, loot is less and still shit like in poe 1, so what? xd
Tri the dota 2 stressing you out, if you ever miss the relaxing gold noises just play a bot lobby or unranked and random with everyone on mute, the game feels much better.
i've seen a lot of bad takes and a lot of "incredibly overpositive takes". i say just wait and see what happens, people getting either too hyped or expecting the absolute worst, it should be somewhere in the middle.
I dont really care about poe 2 that much by itself. But I think overpositive takes much more dangerous bc it can change into as much as strong negativity real quick knowing this comminuty
These are not hot takes at all. But listen to this. Most people do not understand two things: poe is a unique game and recreate the success intentionally is very very hard; if poe 2 turns out to be dogshit like d4 for example, poe 1 will suffer immensly if executives are not ready for hard decisions. So if poe2 is not a great game as everyone want it to be, both games will turn into shit show very quick. Financial pressure, pressure from owners, desicions based on that, bandaids, not enough workforce etc
I love how GGG changed po2 from the po1 game style that same old Diablo copy paste style you see in other arpg’s, and those that disagree are just stuck in that boring loop mind set that ppl been playing for to many years, its time for a change and i commend GGG for it can’t wait to finally play something somewhat different for a change.
PoE is just like WoW to me, it’s hell for a new player but it “makes sense” and the addons are “necessary evils” for a veteran. I’m new to PoE and idk anything about pob, loot filters, any of that shit. I really hope they make Poe 2 less reliant on these 3rd parties cuz I don’t even have a pc rn I just play Xbox.
"and yes I'm going to talk about another ARPG here" - Tri, you sass Diablo 4 in virtually every video; it's honestly a turnoff for those of us capable of enjoying multiple ARPGs at once
I think that they key to appreciation of those moments of power is making them a little bit scarce. In POE as a new player I was kinda overwhelmed by complexity, but I could go through it if the gameplay process was fun and enjoyable. But it was just running through and deleting half of the map and the suddenly dying to something you would never know, which was kinda anticlimatic everytime. Slower pace means you can really feel the difference between various damage types and effects. If there are synergies and windows for optimal combos that you have to look for then it is even more gratifying. You dont get that feeling when this power is always available to you. You can decrease the packs number by increasing mobs behaviour difficulty. Increase the time you spend with the monster and increase the reward. As for dopamine, when players look for some drops. You could also introduce junk items that are purely for sale, but some of them may cost big money. So you dont feel that you fight most mobs for nothing.
You can play few buttons playstyle in poe1 .If you play 10 hours a day you dont want to press 10 buttons tho and being extremely in dept in gameplay . Poe2 wont be exeption .No one wants to play game with100 buttons for hours .
PoE2 will NOT be slow in endgame. The build permutations alone are impossible for GGG to predict. People will figure out how to blast once they get geared up and learn the new skill interactions. What I'm actually worried about is people blasting so hard in PoE2 endgame, that it will be used as like a reverse meme to insult how "GGG failed" to slow down the game. Which of course is dumb since the devs (ex: Jonathan) explicitly stated they expect people to be zoomy in endgame. I think GGG wants the campaign to feel rewarding via build creation AND skilled play. That requires screen clarity and what appears to be "slower" play (just like any character from PoE1 in early acts, but with 1000x better bosses). A level 90+ PoE2 character decked out with half a dozen 6-link skills is going to absolutely BLAST.
Can't wait. Grim Dawn is my favorite arpg. Loot is meaningful, combat is slow at the start and can be difficult when playing on veteran difficulty (harder version of normal)when starting a new character. Kiting enemies and bosses are a must most of the time. I feel like POE2 will feel very similar in those ways. Grim dawn isn't the prettiest Game but the customization is very well done.
I only hope the engine is vastly updated, my only gripe about poe1 is how utterly shit the engine is. Any blizzard game i get 200+ fps, same with most other aarpg games, and other mmos. However when i log in poe it goes to turd mode. Too much sound and effect clutter, and the inability to tell wtf is going on. Other than that poe is the best by far .
A lot of bad takes. GGG has had no issue in the past losing massive amounts of players (while not great) to keep their vision. They will not turn PoE2 into PoE1
I wish you covered the argument of "if the game from pack to pack is always going to be mechanically difficult and something you have to actively think about, the game is going to become exhausting to play since a lot of the player base come home from a job and want to chill and blast some maps" I think this is actually important to cover because "pack to pack" difficulty as we saw when demos were played can become really silly and it really runs into the same problem as mechanics in other games like Mythic+ dungeons in World of Warcraft, where you have to worry about 3 different interrupts from 4 different monsters using 8 different abilities. It doesn't have to be mindless but having to actively think about what youre doing against a 100 monsters in the map pack by pack is also extremely exhausting especially you're expected to die because the game will be difficult by nature.
The only reason it’s difficult in m+ is bc you have to rely on other people to stop DPS and hit the mechanics. If you’re playing solo and it’s balanced around just one person it wouldn’t be like that. Use ur brain
@@ewave9643 youre a biased person who automatically goes into self defence mode trying to defend the game you like. Even solo play the issue is there are 10 different things going on all the time and having to deal with them isn't fun, especially not in a game where you get interrupt/stun locked mid cast if youre hit. I know being a bit passive aggressive is your coping mechanism but anyone who could look at PoE 2 can tell it's Elden Ring and Souls Like inspired in terms of combat feel and even in those games, the trash mobs are usually trivial and its actually surprising or interesting to see a stronger trash because they are unlikely to encounter, they aren't constantly throwing mechanical difficulty at you, because that is good game design. Difficult bosses are fun because that's the challenge, the route to the boss is usually trivial besides a few cases to add flavour, point being, it isn't overdone. We saw the gameplay from the content creators in the acts and many of them pointed it out that its too much. Like Substractem's gameplay footage the wolves surrounding you and stun locking you is the same as act 1 mudflats with the Rhoas in PoE 1. And you're right, I probably won't play it :) Make sure to tell everyone who criticises game design choices the same thing so they know that they can just stop playing, I wonder what will happen then...hmmm Concord much?
I think GGG is cooking letting people sweat the idea of "game is slow and bad". I bet right before release they show mapping gameplay OR they want to keep end game for creators online to make content on and get people hyped that way. Either way, too many people judging by seeing acts 1 to 3. Most builds dont even come together until after that in poe1 anyway.
@@quanwashington degenenaration is continuing to think that slow, boring, dodge, kite attack, gameplay is fun for more than 60 hours. Anything past that it's going to get boring af and completely monotous.
@newax_productions2069 It's not even going to stay like that for less than half of the campaign. You and your ilk are literally complaining about the speed of characters with white, low-level gear. I'll gladly eat my words when I'm proven wrong, but this is literally higher than the speed PoE 1 started out at. They're reeling back power to sane levels (for both enemies and players) so that people can actually play more than 5 skills without feeling like suboptimal shit. Y'know, the thing that the OG players actually cared about? The people who are complaining about the speed don't actually don't like the game. They're addicted to the degenerate gambling idle game simulator it has become. They don't care about the health of the game. They don't care that the game is on its death throes, with League of Legends-esque skill meta rotations(laziest type of balancing) instead of focking buffing weak skills. They have a strangle grip on PoE, and I hope they don't get it again. I've been playing since 2013. So I've witnessed first-hand the corruption of what made PoE great. What it has become is not it. PoE 2 akin to the great flood. Bandaids will be ripped off on game systems that needed to be overhauled a decade ago.
@@quanwashington how many hours do you play on league start? how many hours do you have overall? I play since closed beta too. I have 8k hours and on the leagues that I play I have around 150 hours in first two weeks. You can check my profile and characters if you want. I saw the game development too. It is great. Your take that equivalent of "you dont even like the game if you dont think like I think" is total garbage btw
@@cl8lf1wm8b I couldn't care less if you think my opinion is garbage. I also never said or implied, "If you don't think the way I do that, you don't like the game." This is demonstrably true. The fact that you assume that that is my stance shows that you aren't interested in an honest conversation. I very clearly stated that the speed addicts who are livid at the thought of being slow for 2 acts of the campaign don't like the game. Their caps are twisted on quite tight to think that the entire game will be slow as molasses, especially since the devs can't account for every possible permutation of builds the community will cook up. That is my stance. Nothing more. Nothing less. The fact of the matter is that the devs became dissatisfied with the state of PoE 1 for similar reasons stated and sought to change it. Rightfully so. All of the great league content from PoE 1 that everyone loves will be ported to PoE 2. And it will be built upon a better base without all of the bs holding it back.
I actually don't think people will mind a FIRST campaign playthrough. Me especially. My favorite solo just sit and chill ARPG is actually Grim Dawn which is basically just a big campaign. I've run that things probably two dozen times and t never gets stale. But that game has very little end game. The issue with PoE1 is the Acts drop almost no loot and really, compared to T16s even T13 and under drop terrible loot, so it is all about how fast can I beat the story, fill in my atlas, and then enjoy the "fun" part of the game. I think if GGG would just make the loot curve far more linear there wouldn't be such a rush (eg a T16 map should only drop 20% more loot than a T13, instead of 10x as much). The other "solution" for the PoE1 campaign hate would to just give in and give us the skip we all want. As a dad gamer it usually takes me an entire weekend to get to my first white map and then an entire week or more to fill in the atlas. All the while I'm getting zero loot from boring maps (boring because atlas passives makes maps SO much better). If there was a T0 or green color map that just level synced the mobs while dropping white tier level of loot I would be more than happy to grind for several hours to go from lvl 1 to 70
My biggest fear with POE 2 is endgame crafting being potentially extreme tedium with either collecting for too long (necropolis like problem) or trading way too much for bases because of scour orbs being gone etc. Same problem currently exists in POE 1 only with mirror crafting and vulture prison.
question for you.. do you know if the early acess will be a tedious and exagerated as the betas ? which made most people just turn around and leave.... or will it be tuned down to the normal way they intended the game to truly be?
The developer footage for Poe 1 is also very slow, mostly to show off visuals and MTX. Poe2 will be extremely fast paced by the end of the campaign, I guarantee it.
if it is. pls the boss fight a bit slow and challenging because if they are faster, they are going to be easier because they would be to hard to read otherwise. Poe1 fight arent that much fun nad the focus seems to havemore and better fights
I truly hope this isn't the case. This would completely defeat the purpose of WASD and dodge. And like many people said, we don't need a better looking poe 1, we already have that.
I think D4 players won’t even bother with PoE2 for the reasons you mentioned because the whiny cry babies want everything on their plater without effort and you can literally do that in D4 right now. I play D4 for those same reasons because I’m a dad and have a life, lol. But I love PoE2 because they make it easier for people to understand and it looks cool as hell. Can’t wait!
I have another hot take - flask are shit. Get rid of them. Give us one flask slot with like 50 good options to choose and make them more like Elfen ring flasks with an arpg twist
this is going to be EXACTLY LIKE PSO2: NGS, its a entirely new different game theyre trying to shove the playerbase into. Of course they must cater to POE1 players, it was us who funded poe2, people who dont like poe1 core mechanics aren't the ones paying your bills GGG

Why move away from something that works? PoE1 is the best ARPG on the market. So far PoE2 is shaping to be a 2nd diablo 4, slowing the power fantasy is never a good thing.
I think everybody is extremely gun shy since Diablo four, blizzard has not been the same since blizzard north (D2 developer team) disbanded and left… I believe triple G will stick to their guns. They experienced the downfall of games since Diablo two and they wanted to make it better. (Birth of GGG) POE2 will be no different , sure it will have bugs. They just need a bigger test bed to find them… I want POE 2 to be harder. I don’t want a flock of people to come in and say it’s too hard and they change everything up for the few… read your monsters adapt, overcome and conquer!
PoE1 players being elitists???? Never.... PoE2 needs to succeed so that PoE1 can just die. Its had its time, its time to move on. PoE1 feels super dated and every league gets a little better but also a little worse. We need a new game to take its place.
Why in hell peopel woudl revert to POE1 because POE2 is slower? By far the most common reason people dislike or drop POE1 is exaclty because it is too fast!
because when you get to the endgame and move like a slug it gets boring quickly. The biggest reason PoE is successful is the speed and power fantasy, no other ARPG provides it. If you hate speed and power you probably shouldn't be playing ARPG's in general tbh
in what universe is that the biggest reason? the most common reasons I've seen people quit poe is the complexity they are intimidated by the skill tree or don't want to put in the time to learn all the systems or they didn't follow a build guide and now the best bet if they want to continue playing is make a new character
@@newax_productions2069 Disagree compeltely. I drop the game EXACLTY because of the ridiculous speed and the retarded zoom zoom. I woudl continued playign is it was a game not a click explode screen zoom zoom
What is your Path of Exile 2 hot take? Would you like more of these while we are in a PoE2 news drought? Let me know!
EDIT: Jeeze, I didn't even think about my hair. OPE.
hair looks stylish, cool video
My bigger concerns:
1. they will make crafting not complex but complicated again as it is in PoE1 when you need 3rd party tool and still the majority of players have no idea how to craft
My hot take is Poe 2 sucks for everyone but group players
Rework flasks. I don't want to piano while I couch game. Let me be lazy
Ok you already said it, but let me focus on the gameplay. I want to see how cool the bosses are. Not piano spam. Can't wait anyways
the dichotomy of people saying the game is dumbed down, while also complaining that they won’t be able to just turn their brains off to play their meta builds.
Never fails to get a chuckle out of me.
It's not hard to understand. People don't want darksouls combat. They want complex systems and gearing that result in over powered characters.
imo that's why poe2 being separate is great, it will limit poe 1 less on how hard it can go on proactive vs reactive gameplay.
GGG shouldn't cave to them and stick with their vision of having a game that looks clean, has no jank, and rewards players with impactful combat and meaningful skill interactions.
dont worry they will ...
so you want GGG to remove one of the biggest reasons PoE1 is successful and other ARPGs aren't?
If they don't, it's gonna be pretty dead after all the dads hit level 80 and quit 😂

one of the biggest complaints of many video game sequels is not being different enough to justify a whole new game, if GGG just makes endgame fast pace 1-2 skill spam like PoE1 then they wouldve just been better off spending all that time and resources making leagues the size of SoK more regularly. Let PoE 2 be its own thing
Compare diablo 2's system with what ggg is doing with poe 2
Very similar and nearly 1 to 1
Very hyped with poe 2, the true successor to diablo 2 and poe 1
No. It's about tuning particle systems correctly. Even PoE1 could look much better if they would tune particles down.

Poe2 fanboys are already being elitists about poe1 zoomers, claiming the opposite is preposterously false.
Except I played d2 for like 200 hours, and poe for 8000
That playstlye is out dated, it's been 25 years brother
I want to see how far I can make it on my own.
and dare I say, not make it overly expensive to change directions or respec at any point during the leveling process
"5 projectiles with the power of 100" i've always disliked the 100 projectiles, all bouncing and returning, it's unpleasant to look at haha.
I just want to aim at enemy, shoot/bonk, enemy takes damage.
I'm in a video! Cool. Keep it up Tri. Can't wait for more news.
The slower POE 2 is the BETTER!
You are precisely why the game is going to fail, the speed is why PoE1 succeeds where slow games like diablo 4 and last epoch fail
D4 slow? Really?
@@newax_productions2069 yeah its not the build variety, massive seasonal content drops, over a decade of existing content, and the highest quality content in the genre that brought people to the game, its the speed that makes PoE1 successful....
Just imagine a solid pvp if the gameplay stay slowed
I dont disagree that some slowing down could benefit, but casual folks should remember. Slower game dosent mean that insane wealth acquisition gap between you and better players will change.
All these zoomers complaining they can’t delete the whole screen on release gotta stay playing POE and leave POE2 for the rest of us😂
Been looking forward to this one! I'll be taking a shot of my morning coffee every time I disagree with a take ☕😌
Good watch while drinking my coffee. Cheers, Tri!
POE 1 has never been complex its just confusing in a lot of ways POE 2 is just taking away all the Confusion
Im fine with it being more active/interactive as long as its not as grindy as poe1 which is concerning considering its ggg.
that an interesting problem that you releve
I am not in this list.
Does it means I submitted a bad take???
NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Remember in D1 how you had to prevent mobs from surrounding you? Good times.
Great video, great hair
Do you think you will be able to play on controller, but still be able to use mouse and keyboard for inventory management?
On PC, yes that is confirmed. On Console, we do not know.
@@TalkativeTri thanks my guy ❤️
"You"ll get used to the game and relax" - if it's reactive, by definition, no, you won't relax - you'll learn to be on-alert all the time or you'll die all the time
reactive doesn't need to be fast paced, it can just be "oh a pack, I use [aoe skill]", "oh an armored rare, I use armor break", "oh this one is resistant to physical damage, I can use my phys to cold skill."
it's like chess, you are reacting to what your opponent is doing, but once you know what they are likely to do, you don't have to think that hard to select a best option.
I'll be playing this gem on my pc and steam deck while commuting! 😁
Minions can be the most active playstyle but people who don't normally play minions are very ignorant to that fact.
You should do a dedicated video on your controller. I think this is the second time you've talked about it, but it wasn't shown on video
My man with the slick back, send the haters to Hinekora!
D4: One build to rule them all!!
POE2: Hold my skills!!!
Very sad.
The question is what controller you would recommend to get for PoE 2?
16:45 i agree with the upcoming statement about poe 2 probably being deeper with the skill gems. cant just have have 4 "increase fire dmg" across all spells. however this could still also be a downside.
I think this whole discussion can be boiled down to "there is a reason they split poe 1 and 2". So it can be 2 very different games and poe2 doesnt have to do the same as the first one.
Where do we get that Poe 2 t shirt?
Most of the positive takes I have seen are in regards to things that are already quantifiable, like the graphics and animations.

D4 is steaming hot garbage.
I'm going to stop following you so there aren't so many spoilers about the game... I'll come back after the release lol
you look less nerdy wşth the hair but its better man ! Ç:DD
A level 90+ PoE2 character decked out with half a dozen 6-link skills is going to absolutely BLAST.
that thing about people saying ggg "failed to slow the game down" because people are fast and strong in endgame is too real
Still very worried about the game. I have the need for speed. The game looks fun but it doesnt look the game that will take over from poe 1
Hope this game is well optimized unlike poe1.
XD

Tfw your take was either not hot enough or one of the worst takes
I only hope the engine is vastly updated, my only gripe about poe1 is how utterly shit the engine is. Any blizzard game i get 200+ fps, same with most other aarpg games, and other mmos. However when i log in poe it goes to turd mode. Too much sound and effect clutter, and the inability to tell wtf is going on. Other than that poe is the best by far .

A lot of bad takes. GGG has had no issue in the past losing massive amounts of players (while not great) to keep their vision. They will not turn PoE2 into PoE1
I wish you covered the argument of "if the game from pack to pack is always going to be mechanically difficult and something you have to actively think about, the game is going to become exhausting to play since a lot of the player base come home from a job and want to chill and blast some maps"
I think this is actually important to cover because "pack to pack" difficulty as we saw when demos were played can become really silly and it really runs into the same problem as mechanics in other games like Mythic+ dungeons in World of Warcraft, where you have to worry about 3 different interrupts from 4 different monsters using 8 different abilities.
Bro if playing a video game is exhausting you can stop anytime 😂😂😂😂 wtf
Exhausting to play. I can’t stop thinking about how big of a wuss you are bro
I mean I'll take that over doing maps in PoE1 and having to always hope that there isn't a pack of archer skeles waiting to murder me from off screen.
And you're right, I probably won't play it :)
Make sure to tell everyone who criticises game design choices the same thing so they know that they can just stop playing, I wonder what will happen then...hmmm Concord much?
Balance and immersion andys are a vocal minority that barely play the game, that's why we gonna be zoomin
It's better that those kinds of players get turned away. They will just lead to the degeneration of the game in the long run.
I play Diablo4 and I like it, but can't wait for PoE2 to come online and become immediately my main game. It looks amazing!
do another video on this lol
Hot take - your hair😅
Nice Video. Good listen while I eat Lunch..... BRO less than 2 months!!!!!!!! Ahhh im excited. Like a child waiting on Christmas
question for you.. do you know if the early acess will be a tedious and exagerated as the betas ? which made most people just turn around and leave.... or will it be tuned down to the normal way they intended the game to truly be?
Action games don't suppose to be relaxing imo
The developer footage for Poe 1 is also very slow, mostly to show off visuals and MTX. Poe2 will be extremely fast paced by the end of the campaign, I guarantee it.
Hopefully, if not they are taking one of the biggest reasons PoE is so successful and canning it.
if it is. pls the boss fight a bit slow and challenging because if they are faster, they are going to be easier because they would be to hard to read otherwise. Poe1 fight arent that much fun nad the focus seems to havemore and better fights
I truly hope this isn't the case. This would completely defeat the purpose of WASD and dodge. And like many people said, we don't need a better looking poe 1, we already have that.
@@razorend22 You won't be saying that when you are on your 300th map after 90 hours because of how slow your character is.
@@newax_productions2069 I think people who want slower game play never were on 300th map. They dont play too much and dont understand the impact
i like ur haiir
I think D4 players won’t even bother with PoE2 for the reasons you mentioned because the whiny cry babies want everything on their plater without effort and you can literally do that in D4 right now. I play D4 for those same reasons because I’m a dad and have a life, lol. But I love PoE2 because they make it easier for people to understand and it looks cool as hell. Can’t wait!
They won’t be able to resist the hype. They will try it but won’t make it very long due to the difficulty.
I have another hot take - flask are shit. Get rid of them. Give us one flask slot with like 50 good options to choose and make them more like Elfen ring flasks with an arpg twist
This is good.
first comment!
GGG learn from their mistakes??? how many times has GGG put out nerfs just to roll them back due to player outrage?
this is a good one for another video
this is going to be EXACTLY LIKE PSO2: NGS, its a entirely new different game theyre trying to shove the playerbase into. Of course they must cater to POE1 players, it was us who funded poe2, people who dont like poe1 core mechanics aren't the ones paying your bills GGG
They aren't trying to shove us anywhere. PoE1 will still exist for those people who prefer PoE1.
@@ninetailedfox579121 yeah the same that happened to PSO2, the base game was still available but GUESS WHAT, they soon stopped giving support or releasing content for it
@@ninetailedfox579121 And guess what, the same thing happened in PSO2, we still had PSO2 "1" but they soon stopped releasing content and support for the first game, all we had was rereleased content over and over. And then they stopped.
Someone is removing my comments, i guess something must be really wrong with them.

Stop removing my comments. This is the third time, i am trying to explain to bro over here what happened in another game
Your comments are not being filtered out, I am not sure what you mean, Deephvc.
poe 1 players that are being toxic towards poe2 can just play poe 1 its not like its going anywhere. Also its time to move on its been 11 years...
Why move away from something that works? PoE1 is the best ARPG on the market. So far PoE2 is shaping to be a 2nd diablo 4, slowing the power fantasy is never a good thing.
@@newax_productions2069 then dont play poe2 stay in poe 1 while the rest of us enjoy a new game.
if you think that poe 2 has no effect on poe 1 you didnt spend even a minute to think about it
@@cl8lf1wm8b two complete separate games people are crying like poe1 is shutting down.
Time to move forward to outdated d2 gameplay 😂
?XD You either never played poe endgame, or don't know what are you talking about most of the poe 1 players are love the zoom zoom meta
@@newax_productions2069 Disagree compeltely. I drop the game EXACLTY because of the ridiculous speed and the retarded zoom zoom. I woudl continued playign is it was a game not a click explode screen zoom zoom
@@Toxickys Daa obviously, because the oens that disliked DROPED the game. And hint.. more people dropped the game.. than still play it nowadays.
