Very underrated drummer. He played a huge part in what we love about VH
Ranked in the top 50 of _Modern Drummer_ readers' poll.
I don’t think anyone think he is underrated
With Eddie as the main star, every one in the band don’t shine as much, he put a huge shadow over every one 🤷🏻♂️
So damn good, I started driving with this cassette blasting in my dad's car through his Jensen speakers. GREAT TIMES!
Awesome. One of my all time favorite AVH tracks. Showed how dynamic of a player he was.
I sure hope Alex FINALLY gets every bit of credit he deserves for his outstanding drumming!
The best drummer in my opinion
Man today is like Christmas! All kinds of AVH isolated tracks out here now - love it!
Playing along with all Ed's idiosynchratic style made Al reach for some really great stuff in his playing.
This guy has been/ is solid as a rock
Awesome drums in this song! Alex the beast!
Never heard that amazing fill at 1:05!!!!
This is why I created this channel. For those "Ah ha!" moments. Thanks for watching!
Great drummer !
It's the same fill as the one in the first chorus in "Outta Love Again" surprisingly!
Classic early AVH snare sound - Ludwig Super Sensitive I believe.
Always loved his drumming, but for me at leas,t he just became so much better around the Diver Down period .His playing on 1984 is brilliant.
How can a listener not be impressed!?
The king 🔥🇺🇸🫡🇺🇸🔥
I don't know why that he liked to ride his crash cymbals so much.He was too excessive in that department really.Other than that he definitely did some great things!Yes you did Al! 🥁👍
because he made the decisions regarding his drum parts
and to me it’s a big part of their sound 👍🏻
The kick was flat.
SNEAKERS IN A DRYER
sneakers in a dryer don't write epic drum parts
He just followed Eddie
That is what made them so good ..not click track perfect but heart and soul telepathic groove
What an incredibly uninsightful comment.
Damn I get you’re an EVH fan but you cant even show respect to his brother and co-founder of the band? smh
Never got why he liked to ride his crash cymbals.Never made any sense but it sounded good at the time.
who wouldn't?
