What's really cool also is that you didn't even need a pokey tool. All the little bits from the butterflies stuck to the plate so you were able to peel exactly what you needed and stick it on your card. Very clever :)
I am a newer viewer, and I really enjoy your style and your temperment. I just want you to come hang out in my craft room and show me new techniques. You're so calm.............lovin' it!
No one has sold me on the mint tape until now. Now I have a reason to like it better. Thanks. Love the butterflies. I hope to get one of your ink colors. I just enjoy the names!
I don't understand why people put a thumbs down on this video. There's nothing wrong with this video. Thumbs down people must wake up on the wrong side of the bed everyday. You guys just need a hug. Simon nice video love your cards keep doing you my earth brother.
Omg I have just looked on the webpage and there is so much. If I can have a list of items that will get me started the full range that would be seriously awesome.
That masking paper is really great - the butterfly card is awesome and so are you - you teach so well, have such a patient sounding voice and a lot of confidence in what you are doing
Hello Simon, I am impressed with your office. I am new to creating cards and scrapbooking so I hope you don't mind my asking where do you buy your equipment the dye cutter something that looked like a hair dryer? What, would you recommend as a superior starter kit? Thank you for your lectures and for being a natural. Philip
I really like both, but if I had to choose - and I'm a 'butterfly person', I'd choose the bunny card only because it looks like a parent and child together card...and that has some deep meaning for me right now. Thank you, Simon. I do enjoy your videos. I only wish I had the budget to try more items. OH WELL! Fodder for the future. Blessings!
Your videos always inspire me but wowza, this one is 🤯 I bought the mint tape bundle which includes this 4in roll. I use the regular mint tape all the time. I seriously never thought of die cutting it as a mask, I'm giddy to try this, wow!! Thank you for the tip/idea!!!
You totally hit this out of the park! I would never have thought about about using the mint tape on my cutter. I can hardly wait to try this. I love the first card the butterflies are beautiful but the bunnies are very cute. Thanks for the great idea!!!!
I’m sure you’ve heard of this but since you said you’re kind of lazy about gluing small die cut words, I love spreading some glue on the work surface then tapping a makeup wedge into it to pick up glue and tap onto the die. Presto! You can even use a baby wipe to squeeze out the sponge of glue and wipe off the station and clean up is a breeze! I’ll bet you love it from then on! It’s so fast! And easy! Try it you’ll love it!
Oh Simon I'm sorry but my favorite part of your videos now are when you do your awkward die cutting! I laugh because I look the same way like I'm fighting the machine. Love all your projects and ideas! 😍
Beautiful!! At first I wasn't a fan of the second card with the really dark sky...but as soon as the bunnies were added it became ADORABLE!! Cute, Cute, CUTE! Thanks for the tips!
Beautiful. Love both cards. Think I favor the butterfly card a teensy weeny more. Love the colors on the butterflies. Thanks for sharing this technique.
Hi Simon .. as always you are amazing 👏 ❤!!!!...hard to decide but I like more the second one just because the blending is so cool and the little critters are so sweeties ... thanks for sharing .. and I agree that tape is 👌 ... ! 😉😍
Great cards but that butterfly card is really amazing. Never thought of using the tape to mask like that. You always have great techniques to share with us. Thank You Simon!
The bunnies really changed that card- to be so cute. Its funny how we think we think its going to look one way and it turns to look another. Really like them both!! Thanks for the tips for the wide mint tape.
Super cards! I actually purchased the tape in a bundle with 2 small rolls and one big roll for a really good price. Wish I had purchased more 😂. I love both cards,. I actually have the butterfly dies.TFS.
Hi Simon, Thank you for the video, greatly appreciated. Good ideas I hadn't thought of. Why don't you just use a paint brush for gluing the little bits together? A flat edge brush would give you even distribution of glue. Works for me. 🖌️ Just have a little cup of water off to the side to put it into until you can clean it out. I use the Oui yogurt glass jars, and just enough water to cover the bristles. The glass jar is more stable than a plastic cup. Old coffee cups work too. Where you sprayed water on the table, I use a peanut butter jar lid, or a Pringles lid for small amounts of water. Or to mix paint on. Where you put the ink pad on the table, I've used: parchment paper, wax paper, plastic wrap, plastic grocery bag turned inside out, or plastic scraps from the recycling bin. Those ready to eat salads from the grocery store are great containers; the top layer that holds the dressing, protein, and toppings are great for mixing paints in, holding a little bit of water, or whatever. Even a teaspoon with water in it. Basically when you put that stuff on the table... about freaked me out. The cleaning nightmare that could easily become.😱 When you can reuse, and recycle something headed for the trash instead. But I'm old and financially challenged, and used to having to be creative in finding ways to get things done. Anyways, first time watcher, just subscribed. I think I'm going to like your channel a lot. Thanks. Take care, stay safe, have a nice day. 👵🙂✌️☮️🖖 😷 🙉🙈🙊 ♥️🦋♥️🐇 BTW loved both cards.
nice trick there simon. u showed the butterflies saying how neat and no bleeding but the bottom one had a little water blue bleed onto the butterefly. then u put down with hand then u can see the camera change and when you came back there is no water mark or blue hint adn the inking looks slight lighter than the one before. but still nice image and card. but in future just say its bled a bit so i will now pick up this second card ive already done before to show this one hasnt bled. that way u dont have to try and hide the fact it bled lololol.
Here's a tip... Grab a makeup sponge and squeeze a little glue out onto your work surface. Dab the makeup sponge into it and then just pounce the back of your intricate die cuts. No blob, no glob, and you get full coverage. 😉
Thanks so much! I don’t use it because of all the little stray embossing powder that can get in areas you didn’t want it. I prefer to use black ink and clear powder so if there are any strays… they aren’t as visible. :)
What a Great Idea! 💡 Ill Have to Add it to My Cart for Next Order! I Love Both Cards! 💕🦋💕🐇💕Take Care, and Be Safe. OH! Buy Some Embossing Powder! Lol. Have a Great Day 🌈☀️
OMG Simon, have Ranger send you some white embossing powder already LOL! 😂 Love both cards, they turned out so well with that beautiful ink blending you do. I haven't bought the 4 inch mint tape yet, but looks like I'm going to have to get some! Thanks for sharing a great tutorial! 👍💖
I've been using this mint tape for a while, it's awesome! I've never ripped anything with it. You can also use it over and over again! So, save those masks.
I like both cards - but I really love the butterfly one! Question for you - do you have any videos that show how to use the outer ?frame die of the butterfly? I have a similar set and am always puzzled how to use it
Hi Julie gmail, 🦋 Have you tried using the outer butterfly to cut some colored paper, like maybe a tie dye print? Then cut the butterfly wings out of black paper to layer over it. 🦋 Like a Monarch butterfly. Or, you could use a white paper, and blend inks on it like he just demonstrated, then layer a black outline on top of it, or white, or whatever you want. The second die cut is for the background paper under the butterfly. Or you can use it to cut out a mask to cover the area you want to put the butterfly onto. There are tons of possibilities. Just start trying something and see where it leads to. Don't be afraid to try. Art should be fun. Don't let it stress you out. Good luck. Blessed be. Take care, stay safe, have a nice day. 👵🙂✌️☮️🖖 😷 🙉🙈🙊🦋 🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋 🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇
