I've had my Ambassador for almost 2 decades now. Talk about built to last. Mine does not have a bait alarm though. But yeah mine is blue and gold too and damn its still as nice as the day I bought it.
I have a 5600 C4 and mine has a bait clicker, beautiful reel, easy to set for back lash. I have a St Croix Premium heavy 7' fast action Rod paired with it, 50lb Braid. Great for that heavy bush.
I bought my 2 c4 5600 in 2010 I'm still rocking them for strippers and big potomac blue cats. They are terrific cat and stripper reels. Going to take them surf fishing in a month. Might be their last cast if I don't clean them after every outing. Fingers crossed they hold up.
Do you think this reel can handle fishes heavier than 15 lb since this is its max drag? I bought a C4 6601 and I think I should have bought some more beefy - here in Lockport (Manitoba) the average size for Chanel catfish is around 20lb and easily you can catch over 25 lb.

Pfff 20 pounds is nothing for that reel here in the pnw ive used that reel for king salmon my most recent on that reel was a 30 pound chinook.
Thats funny. Ive had 40lb flathead on my 5000C. I know people that use 6600 for 5ft sharks. Pretty sure it can handle a 20lb cat.
If your other one the current sets the clicker off then just tighten the spool tensioner knob a little bit and it won't do that anymore.
Good video man
