I built my own cone over 10 years ago. Your design is well designed and very fairly priced. At this price point it should be in everybody's kit. Wondering how the cone can be supported in cases where laying on a flat table is not the best option to capture an image.

I tried to build one of these a few years back and failed after quite a few attempts at a cost. It is best to have it designed by a professional photographer and for me to just buy the product already with the R&D done and just use it. With the results, the investment is worth it.

Interesting. When I started researching product tents I stumbled across these and wanted to learn more about them. Having seen parabolic microphones with a similar design I even wonder if this approach would work for DIY’ing a makeshift parabolic reflector and using some struts or fasteners to maintain the shape. Good timing.

i think it needs to be explained what buying 200 w - 400 w flash units means if you want to use 100 iso F16 etc for product photography .

Yes as everything often is but we have put two years work and multiple prototypes for the best diffusion and heat resistance so I'm sure any copies aren't going to put that much effort in.

I would love to take photos of my paintings (even tho I didn't use varnish to avoid reflection) the Black color is so glossy, it reflects too much. I can't use such a huge cone haha. Any suggestion?

Hi Eason, yes if you change the background to a dark grey or black and lower the position of your lighting or bring the majority of the lighting to one side then yes.
Probably great for photography, but when you pull that thing out of the cupboard to use it, your dog is going to give you wary looks!
