An unrelated question here for you Doc. I notice that after numerous people announcing to us the developer of the popular Xenon build is retiring, it would appear that there has been an 8.7 released into the wild. Usually if a developer had second thoughts and decided to continue with the project, there would be a few people relaying the good news, however with this return, there is not.
So I have to ask ..... is this still the original developer or has the project been "taken over" by another. It is now being promoted by the HotshottKodi site. Something just doesn't feel right ??

Safety dot basic still works great for me. This new one badly needs settings to slow it down and make it more transparent. It's too obtrusive for me in it's current form. Thanks for the video though always appreciated. Your video's are the only one's I allow in my facebook group 👍

I will indeed be downloading this app but would also like to let all my fellow streaming FAM know that I figured out a way around the fee with VPN safety dot. If you clear the cache & data, then reopen the app you can continue to use the app for free but it only lasts for 24 hrs each time. 😉

The original dot stops nagging you to pay after about 4-5 days. It also stops disconnecting automatically after a specific time
Great video yet again, how do you change the speed and brightness tho?
I just released a new version that allows you to adjust the brightness and flash *indepently* of each other, so you can make the red dot be bright and flash fast to get noticed, and set the green dot to be dim and slowly flash so it won't distract you when watching a show.

make the green dot flash slowly, but have the red dot flash rapidly.
I have been testing this vpnprivacydot.com/ , seems to be more stable and has great features
@@TechDoctorUK The new Version 1.09 has FOUR different safeguards to make sure the app stays running and will auto-recover in less than 20 seconds if for some reason android does kill it. It should be super stable now. I hope you will give it another shot and thanks again for doing this review :)

Only one thing left...being able to adjust the brightness of the indicator. How will we know when that feature is available??
Besides the promised features, I am doing a lot of additional work, like creating a new website, and adding new abilities to the app like being able to check for new updates and being able to download the update from within the app so you don't need to visit the website. I am working on this in my spare time, so it will take another few weeks, but I am confident you will like the new version!

I found that on safety dot if you dismiss then restart it will run in free mode for a day. The last 2 days it's kept running.

My Netflix will not work if my VPN is on unless I use split tunnel. Ipvanish,,,, is there a way around it. It works on my phone 📱 but not my nvidia shield.

Im so glad your still able to bring us such helpful content and nobody that I’m aware of does the kind of content you do. Your amazing and I really appreciate it. I seldom have any difficulties but when I went to install this app on the Nvidia Shield A window popped up saying it was blocked by Play Protect because it was built for an older version of Android and doesn’t include the latest privacy protections. Just wondering If its okay to go ahead and install it anyway or should i back out and delete the files?

Great video and the app looked promising, but after downloading and installing the dot is indeed green showing my VPN is working but as soon as I leave the app and go to my normal channels it doesn't work any longer. If I go back to the app it is again blinking red or green but does not work on other channels once I leave the app

I' ve been using this app last 6 months.for free.
As a heads up Doc, I've just installed this to my firestick 4K but the indicator stayed red despite confirming that my VPN was connected. But after doing a reboot and then manually turning the app back on it changed to be a green square. So my message to you and others is once you've installed the app make sure you reboot your FS to enable the square indicator to change from red to green.
Mine went straight through!

I had the same problem with my IP Vanish. Try turning off the vpn then turn it back on. Worked for me!

Was really looking forward to adding this to my android smart phone as well as my FSs but having installed it first on my phone it doesn't seem to be working IE no flashing box either red or green. Instead a message popped up momentarily and said something along the lines that the app only works on older something or other?? Can you confirm if this should work on Android smart phones as well as FSs etc

@@darrell4328 Oh, now I understand. That warning is actually saying that my app was designed for an "Older" version of the operating system that is running on your device and to check to an update. But you can ignore that warning - the app will run just fine and you wont see that warning again unless you uninstall and reinstall the app.

I installed this app it works great with shuttle vpn. Is there any way you can makè the green dot disappear at the top of the screen
If you have a green dot (circle) showing that must be the original VPNSAFETY DOT version still working. With this newer VPN monitor dot app it shows as a red or green square. If you really want to remove the green circle version, uninstall the app
Forgot to mention that I am using a fire TV and not the stick
so u dont get to pick a location tho?
the app only checks to see if your vpn is running. It doesnt care what location you use

So are you saying that when your VPN is "Enabled" (turned on) you see a flashing red square in the top right corner? Did you install the latest version 1.08?

What streaming device are you using?
If you've added it onto a FS, do like I had to do and reboot your device. It will then work. If it doesn't check to confirm your network is connected.and your VPN is turned on

Just wanted to let everyone know I released a new version 1.227 of Monitor Dot with an exclusive feature that allows you to set the brightness and flash rate *separately* for each dot, so you can make the red dot be bright in color and flash rapidly to get your attention, but have the green dot be dim and slowly flash to it wont be distracting while watching a show. Please let me know how you like it.

Hi, I am the creator of Monitor Dot, so I know for sure there is not. What app is reporting that there is a virus in it so I can contact them to get this false-positive fixed? Are you thinking that it has a virus because the Play Store "Play Protect" is displaying a warning (that it does for any 'unknown' app)?
I just fixed the false-positive issue - please make sure you download version 1.228.
