I've been using ProtonVPN and also Proton Mail for well over a year. I do find using there email cumbersome and confusing to use, so I really don't use it for my email. I setup multiple emails to utilize the VPN on many devices including my Window devices.

I have just checked this (7th Jan), and everything is still working correctly, as shown in the video. You must go to protonvpn.com/tv and sign into your account. You must enter the code shown on your TV within the time limit, or the code will expire. If that is the case, exit the Proton VPN app on the Firestick and reopen it to get a new code.

Hope you can help, I've tried Proton free but being in Spain the free version doesn't give servers in UK so I have just tried "AwardVPN" which worked with the Beeb initially untill I switched to another UK tv app and firestick detected I was using a VPN as it does if try using Prime or in some UK apps just comes back with an error like the VPN isn't working. Anyway as the Beeb worked I went back to that app and that now didn't work. It is a new ish stick so no "Developer" option but I did the 7 clicks which gave the option. Any advice please?

Hi Rob. I spent the whole day yesterday looking for updated versions. Unfortunately, there isn't an updated version released that works. Unless you have the official version, getting a 'modified' version of the update is difficult. I will update my downloads page as soon as I can get my hands on a working version. In the meantime, I suggest viewing All 4 and TV5 from a web browser rather than the app.

Hi Tanya, I am a fan of your channel. I think you post the best content about firesticks on RUclips. I use the free version of Proton VPN on my firestick but have noticed my speed drop from 270 to 70 which is a pity. How many good free VPNs exist? preferably a free VPN with a no logs policy, access to geo-restricted areas and unlimited data or are there any really good free VPNs that maybe tick two of the boxes really well but falls short on one. Or is there a really good paid one that is very cheap like maybe £20 for a two year subscription. Making a video comparing the free VPNs and another comparing cheaper VPNs would be great content for viewers. Do you also recommend any must have apps?

On the website, scroll down a little further underneath the 3 paid options, and you'll see a GET PROTON FREE button.

The address starting 192** is your network address and will usually always remain the same.
The IP address starting 212** is your internet IP address.

Hope you can help, I've tried Proton free but being in Spain the free version doesn't give servers in UK so I have just tried "AwardVPN" which worked with the Beeb initially untill I switched to another UK tv app and firestick detected I was using a VPN as it does if try using Prime or in some UK apps just comes back with an error like the VPN isn't working. Anyway as the Beeb worked I went back to that app and that now didn't work. It is a new ish stick so no "Developer" option but I did the 7 clicks which gave the option. Any advice please?

I use nordvpn. But i just signed up for ivacy... However it wouldn't connect on my firestick. Doc squiffy had a video about that and gave a new link that would work... It does work now but when i watch youtube it buffers and won't load. I have to go back to nord.

Hi Rob. I spent the whole day yesterday looking for updated versions. Unfortunately, there isn't an updated version released that works. Unless you have the official version, getting a 'modified' version of the update is difficult. I will update my downloads page as soon as I can get my hands on a working version.
In the meantime, I suggest viewing All 4 and TV5 from a web browser rather than the app.

@@FireTVSticks sorry for the repeat question. It's a 2nd gen firestick which I have had for over a year. It use to run protonvpn without issues. Now when trying to install from app store it gives me a parse error. side loading has the same issue.

It seems that your device may not be supported because it is older. However, there is a solution. It has been suggested that downloading an older version of the Proton VPN app may work for your device. To do this, simply use the short code 28907 in the Downloader app to visit my Downloads page. Then click the the VPN category and click Proton VPN from the list. On the next page, scroll down to “Download Previous Versions”. From there, select v2.6.91. We hope this solution works for you. Completely agree. THE best free VPN no question. A few caveats such as those you mention but also no torrent support, but still great.

Hi Tanya, I am a fan of your channel. I think you post the best content about firesticks on RUclips. I use the free version of Proton VPN on my firestick but have noticed my speed drop from 270 to 70 which is a pity. How many good free VPNs exist? preferably a free VPN with a no logs policy, access to geo-restricted areas and unlimited data or are there any really good free VPNs that maybe tick two of the boxes really well but falls short on one.
Or is there a really good paid one that is very cheap like maybe £20 for a two year subscription. Making a video comparing the free VPNs and another comparing cheaper VPNs would be great content for viewers. Do you also recommend any must have apps?
In my opinion, Proton is one of the top free VPN options that I have come across. However, I must admit that I haven't reviewed many other free VPNs to give a fair comparison. If you want to find the best one for your needs, it may be helpful to explore other channels or do some research online. I appreciate your suggestion and will definitely consider looking into more options and comparing them in the future.
