Alone in a Room at least from what I recall the lead singer talking about and a lot of the band members, I think also this was covered in an article, it is about alcohol and potentially drug abuse, depression and overcoming one's own problems, if I recall he (lead singer) did say that he felt as though he let his band members and director down, and this album/the song is about that realization and the road to redemption.

He said in an interview he always felt like he could only write good songs while high and he didn’t want to feel that way anymore. That it was his actual talent. So props to him for trying.
