If you do La La Latch, I would recommend you actually listen to both the official they made and compare it to the live one from 2015 new years. Really highlights the fact that they don't sing anything in a video that they can't recreate live.
Avi, the bass singer, is actually doing/singing the bassline. Him and Kevin make (made) a glorious rhythm section for sure. Nice reaction mate! 🙂
Not just you. I usually like their covers better. Sometimes I haven’t even heard the original and don’t even bother to check out the whole OG version.

Definitely you need to hear The Sound of Silence by PTX but make it a dbl react so you can also do the Disturbed version on the same clip

They do a cover of Kiiara's "Gold" that is so syncopated it's mind-boggling. The original version relies heavily on studio effects (no shade, that's her style). PTX does it by pure voice.
Avi is the deep voice. Kevin and Avi are like a drum kit. They are so good at elevating songs. You should try some originals. Love again, sing, standing by.

Have you noticed that on almost every song they bring it down to a gentle close? So you don't feel like you were left hanging.

You want a treat...know you love Kevin, who the musical genius of the group...check out his solo performance if "Down". He's amazing...plays 4-5 musical instruments (classically trained on Cello- appeared at Carnegie at 18); speaks some languages (including Mandarin); graduated from Yale and accepted to their medical school, before joining Pentatonix.
Fairly new to the BAYO family, and love your reactions to PTX but to really see where they came... start with their Sing Off competition they won. They will still blow🤯

Their covers rock. I put down in the comments of a different reactor that if pentatonix covers your song, that means you have made it in the music world. Kinda like if Weird Al Yankovic did a parody of your song. But I have to say that I usually think that pentatonix does a better job than the original.

I was thinking of mentioning them - I love Home Free, but they don't really rap, except in the odd comedy gem, so I wasn't sure Bayo would like them!
If he was going to do them, what would you suggest first, because those comedy gems are better after you know them a bit!! Ring of Fire, I guess, but it's not rap.
Love your reactions to PTX, and trust us when us Pentaholics say that we all love their covers better than the originals. Since they only their voices, they have more freedom to be creative and they kill it every time!

I love your comment about liking their covers more than the original versions of the songs they do. I heard another person echo the same sentiment by saying "your ear has developed a Pentatonix filter." You recognize them when you hear them over a PA system or on the radio. I find that if I've never heard the original and then I hear it after listening to the Pentatonix version that I think to myself, "hey, that's not how that song goes!" LOL. Their arrangement style is unique and often improves or adds to the original song in such a way that my ear concurs with yours; it is often preferable. Thanks for your reactions

Thank you for your reaction. The genius of Pentatonix covers is they find the essential sound that matches the lyrics and bring that sound to the forefront so you hear it and say, "Yes that is the way the song should sound." even if you don't like the original song. Also, as you hear with this song, and their Mackelmore covers, they take the swearing and useless lyrics out to create a covers that are more listenable.

This is only the second time I have heard this performance and it is surprisingly good and massively fun. Like you said, they often end up with a performance which is better than the originals. One more thing to pass on to you - you have an uncanny ability to make us think that you are talking directly to us, rather than to a camera. Excellent! You also note all the right things about each performance. So glad I've subbed to you. Well worth following!
I credit this song as the one that hooked my 2 boys (6 & 11) on PTX lol they both love this one and my youngest tells Kirstie she’s pretty every time 😂🥰 I often find that I like the PTX version of a song better than the original, a great example is ‘Come Along’ the original by Cosmo Sheldrake is this beautiful quirky song and then PTX took it and made it magical, Cosmo even commented on the video thanking them for covering the song 🥰 absolutely loved your reaction to this 😁

Kevin is the beat boxer but he can sing as well. Avi the base, helps with the beat boxing, but he left the group in 2017 and was replaced by Matt as a base. Matt shows off his voice in The Grinch, so you will have to find their video of that. Scott (baritone), Mitch (tenor) and Kirstin (mezzo-soprano) are the 3 primary singers. It depends on the song choice who gets more solo lines. Scott, Mitch and Kirstin are friends from least high school.
