It took me a couple watches to notice that Ryan Reynolds' glasses change all the time bc he steals new ones when he dies

Cinemas near me weren't open when thus came out, but we has a pop-up drive-in that opened. They took a bunch of cargo containers, stacked them up and hung a screen on them in a big field. You drove in, parked, and tuned your radio to the channel for the sound. It was great! This was the first movie I got to see during Covid. I was undergoing chemo at the time and was immuno- compromised so i could not have gone to a regular cinema at the time anyway. It was so awesome to have a real movie experience again with such a fun movie. Free Guy will always hold a special place in my heart for letting feel "normal" again

The Chris Evans cameo was so surprising and hilarious. I watched this on streaming and had to pause and rewind 😂.

I didn't watch it in the cinema but I watched it on Netflix either in late 2021 or early 2022 and I really enjoyed it.
My biggest complaint while watching was that it didn't make sense why Guy began to evolve as an AI when he sees Millie. But when the very end of the film actually explains that Millie was the key because Keys wrote Guy's AI and poured his love for her into it, I was incredibly impressed with the writing. (Also having to suspend my disbelief that the whole world would give a shit if a GTA NPC started doing what Guy does because reallistically only gamers and some youtubers would care).
I wouldn't call it a perfect movie as it has its cheesy moments, but it's a really fun watch and I could give it a solid 9/10 without that feeling over-generous.

I expected this to be one of those movies that was okay but not great when I first watched it and was pleasantly surprised at how much I genuinely really like it. Watching the background characters is fun on a re-watch - fun gamer easter eggs and just things you'd see characters do like jump in place and do random kicks lol Glad you enjoyed this one! Been going through some tough things mentally and physically for a few weeks and this cheered me up tonight so thanks for the laughs.

Really enjoyed this. Have you seen Our Flag Means Death? It’s another Taika creation. if you haven’t seen it, It’s really well suited to a two part reaction video - half a season per video like Jury Duty.

They're generally all sentient from the start. The issue is that they're kind of..."locked"... That's why when Guy starts acting oddly, other NPCs he encounters start doing the same. They aren't really prohibited from growing, but there's just no impetus for them to do so. It's the same thing, all the time. Get robbed, get shot, get blown up, respawn and do it again. They CAN generate active differential responses...but just...don't, because there's just no reason to bother. Guy winds up changing that pretty radically...and so we get this movie.
All sentience is, is the capacity to acquire input from both oneself and one's surroundings, differentiate the two, and generate active responses without preset conditions.
Instinct and such is more about the preset conditions. Every possible input gets either tagged to a given premade response, or it gets ignored entirely if it's just too different from any of them.
Humans are kind of a blend, as most lifeforms are (with any other lifeforms being pure instinct...there are no sapient lifeforms in existence, so far). Everything has some instinct for the simplest or most important things...and sentience for everything else.
Sapience, by contrast, is zero instinct, all logic, but still not explicitly bound by logic alone.

I watched this in theater and I went in thinking it was going to be a cash grab but since I love Ryan Reynolds, I went anyways. I laughed so hard! When he grabbed Captain America's shield, I yelled! When Chris Evans said a classic Reynolds line "What the shít?" I hollered!
It was the ultimate Feel Good Movie! ❤

So I was waiting for this movie for ages, it was meant to come out July 2020 but got moved around a few times because covid and actually released August 2021. Watched it twice in the cinema and again on Disney+ a few times afterward, it was worth the wait.

Great reaction, man. Glad I found this channel, Cheers. 🥃👍✌❤
17:49 I don't know what it is, but I don't know that anyone has ever been cuter than Jodie Comer being awkward right here. 😍

    Dude is the best

  • @DoremiFasolatido1979
    @DoremiFasolatido1979 Год назад

    "Dude" has two problems...
    1) He's not based on Millie's AI coding. Antwan made him (or at least participated). He's essentially a conventional NPC.
    2) He was never finished. He has only the most basic functionality, and unless someone (probably needs to be Millie herself) fixes and improves his code, he's not going to be changing like the others.
We know those are both true because if Antwan had simply copied Guy and then tweaked him, he wouldn't be nearly so stupid and simple. He'd be just like guy, but with a different model and way better stats and a "blank" but functional personality. But he's so incomplete and so simplistic that it's almost a certainty that he actually was made from scratch, and shares nothing in common with all the other NPCs that Millie originally designed.

Just as an FYI...a really small studio called Radiant made a game called Stonehearth. Riot Games bought them, gave them an absurdly short period to "finish" Stonehearth, and then scrapped Radiant AND Stonehearth, shuffling most of the people on the team to various Riot projects. Some of them quit in protest, but some of them understandably continued working for Riot because well...gotta pay the bills, and there's not always a job available. Which is sort of the point of capitalism...keep everyone down and afraid of losing their job so you can abuse them as much as you want.
In any case, while you can still buy Stonehearth...it is very clearly not really complete. It's functional...sufficiently so, I suppose, but it's definitely not complete. And there are absolutely no updates since. There's a mod for it that is indirectly supported by the old crew, and it does a lot...but it has a lot of flaws too, so I personally don't really use it. But officially, there is no support for it, at all. Riot killed it to prevent future competition and to acquire some new labor.
Obviously Radiant was tiny and no threat to a company like Riot, but that's the point...kill 'em when they're too small to matter, and then they can never grow up to become a threat. It's what every big company does.
So, yeah, not actually that big of a stretch at all for Antwan to buy a property and the studio that made it...lock it all away, and then exploit what he can out of it to get more money. It's not about making a stable business model that endures and grows...it's about exploiting everything possible as immediately as possible, to pocket as much money as possible right this instant. Preferably while leaving nothing for anyone else to do anything with afterward.
