Hey Sarah, thanks for another car review video. I like the variety because it was a truck this time instead of a car. And I LOVE the "meatball" score!! You definitely have to stick with that for any truck reviews you do from here on out! It was definitely nice having small Sarah along for the ride as well. Love my 4Runner, I've owned 3 of them and they've been nothing but reliable.

Hey, I got this very truck a little over a month ago (same color too!) and you're absolutely right: It can go over a speed bump full speed no problem. Not just those crappy small ones in the parking lot, but the big sidestreet lump ones too. Don't ask how I know this.
On my 5th 4Runner Gen 3 to 5, have sold them once upon a time & looking forward to a 6th Gen... Sarah, YOU are the 1st person to suggest a removable top, my uncle Jack had the Back to the future era 4Runner with a top off & it was choice. My brother owns a Rubicon influenced by my uncle's 4Runner... Also, 80's kids might remember the miniature 4x4 toys called Stompers! (Look them up, STILL cool:). The 4Runner was my fav as a kid & I'm still smitten lol. I have a long love for the Beasties. You guys did a fantastic job on conveying the EXPERIENCE of how FUN they are... Everyone else is apples to apples on mechanicals, features & trim levels but you coveyed FUN FACTOR, Nice JOB! Also, the Voodoo nails are above & beyond the call of duty... You just separated yourself from the herd;) Also, your sidekick complements you perfectly, she may be a keeper! GREAT JOB GUYS, DON'T STOP! :) PS> Great call on the supercharger, Most peeps havent a clue. I give you girls "5 BALLS".. German & Spanish!

Sarah, the factory supercharger has been discontinued as Toyota’s TRD division has ended their Contract with Magnusson who made the supercharger. This happened awhile ago. So no factory superchargers for any of the current lineup of Toyota vehicles.
Hello, just found your channel. I did what you stated in this video. My 2016 SR5 platinum- toytec 2-3” suspension lift, RCI aluminum skids except for the gas tank (I don’t rock crawl, or meatballs as you called them ;) ), heavy duty coil overs in the front with HD coils in the rear. Replaced the 265’s with 285 /70 /17 Nitto terra grappler II. Performed the installs myself, so the grand total was just over 2400.00. Hidden light bar in the grill for extra lighting bc of course Toyota won’t allow you to run with fogs and high beams on at the same time? I purchased the 16 for 38,000.00. Your are correct, much less expensive and IMHO better. Except I love that color. Good vid and thanks for your time.
Saw you spinning in 2 wheel drive: that is the way my mom drove her1972 Ford LTD convertible out of the driveway in winter. Crazy! Love it!

Oh one more point, the Grand Cherokee Limited is also ALL TIME 4 Wheel drive. Which is amazing in the snow and or offroading.
I got a 2019 SR5 last February. I love it. I haven't gotten it off road yet but from what I've seen and read on forums, I think you're right. For a lot less $$ it could probably do anything the Pro can do with a set of good all terrains on it. You might need a little more momentum and finesse but yeah, I think it would do it. Your matching fingernail polish is killer. By the way, I put a Borla muffler on mine. It's gives it a bit of growl especially at WOT. A bit more power too.

The 4Runner is an analog experience in a digital world. There is something to be said for blazing your own trail. You can buy an SR5 with normal equipment for under $40k. And resale is through the roof! Amazing value.

Ah!!! My little Sara is back! Love the three modeling poses at the waterfall! Dont be nipping out in that cold weather with your top off! I'm in Iowa and we have a total of 20" of snow the past two weeks! Ice everywhere and snow drifts as tall as 6ft or more! Anyway...nice to see the adorable little Sara back!

I have this exact truck. I love it!! Sure, it’s a little dated in the electronics department, but it is bombproof. I have Pro-dozed mountain trails and blizzards with ease. My nails don’t match, though
Great review with the Sisters Sara. I know this review is a bit old...Could be reviewing a 2023. They haven't changed much. I agree with what you said about getting the lower trims and modifying it yourself. I have a 2014 Trail (has the off-roady stuff) with a 3" lift and 285/70/17 Baja Boss AT Mickey Thompsons along with a winch and other upgrades. Great off-road! The current TRD Offroad is the way to go.

I like that shade of blue. Reminds me of Grabber Blue like on a Mustang. Looks great on the 4Runner. It will be interesting to see how the new Bronco fits in this field, and it’s a bit surprising more manufacturers don’t get into off road stuff as it’s all $$$. Jeep prints money for FCA, and look at what Ford gets for a Raptor. Also, I think it has nice floor mats because most people use these things as mall crawlers even if they’re super capable.

Hi Sara, the Ford Bronco, is intended to be a Jeep Wrangler fighter, you will have the choice to go topless. For the US market, the Ranger gets a version of Ford's 2.3-liter EcoBoost inline-four that once found a home in the Focus RS. It makes 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque in the Ranger, and it's paired with a 10-speed automatic gearbox, this will be the power pack for the Bronco. Additionally, Ford can't fight Jeep with just one truck. That's why it's working on a rugged-looking little SUV based on the front-wheel drive unibody Ford Focus platform. It was previewed (and leaked) at a Ford dealer event in Las Vegas last November after being confirmed by Ford product VP Hau Thai-Tang last August.
When you "need" 4WD is a function of both conditions and driving skills. Yours are pretty good, and the 4Runner has good skills too. You are right about the 4Runner. If you want luxury, you should move up to Lexus GX or LX, but the cost difference is substantial.

Hey, I can help with why the cd player. That is to hold your cell phone holder. The best cell phone holders mount into the cd player. Well, I like them anyway because they just work and hold the phone in a good position.
This may already be posted so sorry if duplicate info. Magnuson used to make the TRD Supercharger but because of cost Toyota quit carrying it, but Magnuson continued and many Toyota dealerships and performance shops install them. Magnuson offers a 3 year, 36,0000 warranty I believe. Getting ready to add one to my 2018 TRD 4Runner as I had TRD version on old 4Runner, it's awesome!

You are absolutely right about the base models being able to do the same as the TRD PRO. Mine is a 2017 4Runner SR5 with TRD Offroad. I was determined to sell my 4runner and buy a pickup but you've throughly convinced me that mine is the best vehicle of the bunch. Question about tires... you experienced snow and colder temperatures in the video unexpectedly. I live in Toronto where it is cold 6 months of the year, and where there is risk of driving on shovelled road with ice that duration. There are usually the 6 or 7 heavy snowfall days per year, then the streets get plowed so that there is just risk of ice constantly, and the light snow dropping. Would you use the 265/70R17 Nitto Terra Grapplers all year round, or would you use a specific winter tire under my conditions. I'm on the highway 2 hours per day, but also go off the beaten track. Thanks. Jack.
No more TRD Supercharger. You can get one from Magnusson, they built them for Toyota.

If you're going somewhere off road that is unusual or out of range for cell service, you should tell someone you know that will tell the appropriate people to come rescue you if you don't talk to that person again within a set time limit. A simple phone call of forethought could save your life if needed.
Or rent a satellite phone.

lives in snow country. narrower tires will spin and dig down to the surface below the snow. in mud or sand you want wider tires to float on top . I run wider than stock tires on mine with aggressive tread since I use the truck to pull a heavy trailer with a 14 thousand pound machine on it. trivia

I got a phone holder for my car's CD slot, so at least I have a safe place to put my phone when I need to use it as a navigation device, since my car is old (2004).
