Even when you got stars on the dark side of the planet, it actually looked good when you covered it because it looked like lights in cities. Even when you're failing you're succeeding!
You are the best teacher of important and understandable tips and I just feel so more relaxed and comfortable when you talk. You are a special person.... You JUST ARE❤❤❤
New subscriber. LOVE your 10 minute paintings! You're an amazing teacher. My 10 year old daughter is very much into the arts and I'm lost as I was an athlete so videos like this make me hopeful and confident that we can both do something she enjoys and both enjoy it together. Please keep them coming!
Thanks for making these videos !! I always found it really hard to get inspired but now I only have to watch your videos for about 10 seconds and I want to paint all day !! Thanks again ♥️
Loved this video ^.^ I bought your book yesterday and had it printed out at staples so it looks like an actual book. I'm going to spend the day reading it and then tomorrow I'll attempt a painting ^.^ thank you so much for all that you do.
Just wanted to thank you! I googled 'painting beginner tutorials Earth' tonight and ended up on this video. Watched it, then 7 more. I was never able to take an art class (.. crappy, underfunded public education system haha) & didn't think I'd be able to keep up with painting anything like these miniature masterpieces of yours- but I was wrong and your channel is great! I absolutely love the tips & specifics about technique you drop along the way. You've inspired me to write a RUclips comment (lol, and to paint)! :3
Just got yourself another subscriber. Loving these space art paintings. I've always been a pencil artist. But this has convinced me to jump over to paint for a try
Wow it's so amazing!!! I was just thinking of what to paint my best friend as her housewarming gift, guess I could give this a go, you made it look sooooo effortless and the outcome is breathtaking Thanks a lot for the video!
I like space and I love art! And I just started to learn space art! Iam working on a drawing of the planet Venus and iam planning to draw Earth next! 😃 thanks for the tips 😃
Excellent painting in 10 minutes ! Very informative. (You might paint the Sun a little bit large comparing to the Earth size, and, adding some Sunshine/light streaks as we used to see them from the NASA' Apollo Crew photos from the Moon... And, a little 'City-lights' could be added into the dark side !)
i love your tutorials! i usually paint from refference photos but this time i have to try your earth! can you please make an animal portrait tutorial? like a tiger or lion or wolf whatever... i would like to see your approach for painting fur...not necessarily in 10 minutes. thank you for all your works!!!!!!!
I find that whole "the earth is flat. The earth is round" debate really boring. The earth is the earth, i don't care if he/she is flat or round. The earth is our home and that is what matters in the end, i just wish we humans could work all together to protect her/him. But to be honest for me the earth is round since that is more interesting than a flat earth. Yet again, it is alright if some of you consider the earth flat. Like i said the earth is our home and that is what matters.
Ever thought of doing a series of acrylic paintings of each planet in the solar system? I'm working on different variations of each planet in the Star Wars universe, but in watercolor as opposed to acrylic. Easiest so far? Tatooine. Most difficult, resulting in four restarts? Coruscant.
That's a fantastic idea! I'm always looking for additional space themed ideas as they do seem to be a crowd favorite. Hope your series is continuing well!
I have hearing problem. Could you tell me what did you use in the beginning a water like substance around the earth circle. You are amazing.loved your work.
At the beginning of the painting I am using a damp brush to loosely outline the earth, this gives me practice in plotting the actual paint and will allow me to spread my paint a little bit farther.
si de hecho se ve mucho mas la foto real de la tierra que el canvas, que apenas se nota. La pintura no le quedo ni la mitad de bien que la foto final que puso. Trampa total.
Hi! I just discovered your videos and love them! I do have a question regarding the earth: did you draw the continents in ahead of time, and if so, what did you use to do it? Thanks!
Well, I would recommend practicing drawing. It really is the foundation of painting. However, you could always trace something round. In regards to the continents/clouds, they are fairly abstract looking shapes so I wouldn't worry about getting them 'perfect.' Just practice and have fun :)
I understand. Well you inspired me to try painting for the first time ever today. I followed your advice about painting trees and my tree actually came out pretty good for a first attempt. Thanks for the inspiration! My next try will be of a night sky. 😊
Can I ask what type of "pencil" do you use to sketch out your mountains and, in this case, your planet? Thanks!..PS, I think you're an awesome artist and great teacher!
I actually really like using crayola pencil crayons. I know that sounds wildly unprofessional but they don't dilute the paint like pencil/charcoal does and they don't require a sealer. It's simply the most efficient medium I've found to accomplish those early sketches
What brand of acrylic do you use? I've been painting for awhile, but my paint always seems to dry too fast for me to mix a new color and blend the two.
Okay I gave this a go. I foolishly thought he was using black paint at first when applying the background light. He is actually using just water before the blue. Is that correct?
As long as you are using a quality brand of paint (Liquitex Basics Acrylic paint, is my personal go-to), you shouldn't have an issue with the paint over time. I hope this helps :)
I was just wondering: do you practice the painting beforehand and then repaint it for the video, or do you just start on a whim and hope it's 10 minutes long? Lovely painting, too. Your paintings always end up beautiful!
I generally 'paint it in my head' first. This just means I figure out what colors I want to use, how I'm going to layer them, and what brushes I will need for each part. I also set up a timer beside my brushes so that I know when I need to hurry to reach the 10 minute mark... Which is why the start of these are generally fairly relaxed then I'm all over the place for the last two minutes lol
Ryan O'Rourke - Artist Wow I showed my mom some of your paintings and she said you practiced it before you video taped it. I can't wait to tell my mom that you don't practice beforehand.
i love your 10-minute paintings. so easy to follow and you kinda sound like Bob Ross sometimes. Bless his soul.
I can see my house from here!!!
because you are already in your house
I really love your work, whenever I watch your videos I always get inspired all over again. My personal motivation 🙏 thank you and God bless you! 🙏
Even when you got stars on the dark side of the planet, it actually looked good when you covered it because it looked like lights in cities. Even when you're failing you're succeeding!
Haha, thank you, Asriel!
The best art is often in our mistakes
You are the best teacher of important and understandable tips and I just feel so more relaxed and comfortable when you talk. You are a special person.... You JUST ARE❤❤❤
the light source on the planet is so so beautiful!

Thank you so much for making more space tutorials! I really love the galaxy and this one!! It looks amazing..Thank you :D
I'm very happy to hear it because I have a couple more planned for the near(ish) future :)
Ryan O'Rourke - Artist Do you think you could possibly paint an eclipse in the near future?
Nathan Prescott I’ve made plenty of galaxy and night sky paintings as well if you care to watch.
you're awesome and i love your step by step tutorials! they really help beginners like myself!
How wonderful !!! I started loving your paintings and started creating too.....thank you so much for sharing.
I am addicted to your 10 minute paintings
This series is outrageously good.
Thank you for this.
Eloquent in your instructions as usual. Happy New Year!
Thanks for making these videos !! I always found it really hard to get inspired but now I only have to watch your videos for about 10 seconds and I want to paint all day !! Thanks again ♥️
It already looks amazing at 2:30
Loved this video ^.^ I bought your book yesterday and had it printed out at staples so it looks like an actual book. I'm going to spend the day reading it and then tomorrow I'll attempt a painting ^.^ thank you so much for all that you do.
Enjoy! :)
Great teacher. Your explanations while painting ate excellent. Thanks for sharing
Glad to hear that you enjoyed the lesson!
Happy New Year and I love your beautiful painting
Thank you your video was awesome and easy to follow
This is simply beautiful and attractive. The boundary around the planet seems as if some brightness is coming from behind.. I loved it ❤❤❤
Wow... This is a very real planet. I'm just learning to draw. This lesson is very useful for me. Thank you so much...
Thank you for the wonderful comment!
Okay I’ll inspire by this for my room decor

Cool! I like that painting picture of an earth!😄👵🏼👍🏻
Thank you So much Sir. I tried to copy your 10 min painting. It took me a month to make it look 30% as beautiful.
what a beautiful painting
amazing superb painting
fantastic👌👏👏
Why would you show a half edited photo as your painting at the end??
As always you were awesome. I loved how you make this look so easy.
Thank you, Shelia! All it takes is time and practice :)
Absolutely beautiful 🌎thank You

Thanks for the kind comment Alex! Best of luck!
I always wanted to paint earth and this helped me alot
On the dark side of the earth you could also add some city lights as they are visible from space.
That is a really neat idea!
Thanks for tutorial, I made this and it is awesome!!
Thank you! Amazing and simply!
Thank you for watching :)
Thank you for this video. mine came out almost exactly as yours. thanks again. loved it!

Fascinating
Beautiful,
Flat Earthers will say it's fake
Ha ha... You should share it with them. lol

joe dimaggio , are you sucked in the FE society? Lol

nicely done, 9:05 is the best part though hahahahah
Irregularity is the beauty of nature.
Thank you
I knew you can do it under the 10 minutes!
Perfect....!!!

Молодец нормально нарисовал и сейчас с блёстками
Wowza!
thanks mate.

La imagen del final, se nota que la retocaste en digital
si de hecho se ve mucho mas la foto real de la tierra que el canvas, que apenas se nota. La pintura no le quedo ni la mitad de bien que la foto final que puso. Trampa total.
Hi! I just discovered your videos and love them! I do have a question regarding the earth: did you draw the continents in ahead of time, and if so, what did you use to do it? Thanks!
I used a white coloured pencil to sketch in the continents before beginning
This is amazing!! Do you draw (the pencil markings) from ur head or do u refer to online images?
I just discovered you! Love the painting. For those who cannnot draw ANYTHING.... how could I do this and get the shape decently accurate?
Well, I would recommend practicing drawing. It really is the foundation of painting. However, you could always trace something round. In regards to the continents/clouds, they are fairly abstract looking shapes so I wouldn't worry about getting them 'perfect.' Just practice and have fun :)
thanks again.
My clouds weren’t so good but everything else came out great 😊 Thanks
Love your videos! Thanks for sharing. Do you ever paint abstracts?
I do not. While I really appreciate and respect abstract work it's not something I'm particularly great at.
I understand. Well you inspired me to try painting for the first time ever today. I followed your advice about painting trees and my tree actually came out pretty good for a first attempt. Thanks for the inspiration! My next try will be of a night sky. 😊
I like it
Thanks!
do you use reference pictures when u paint?
Ryan, can you tell us what size canvas you are working with?
It's generally listed in the video description :)
Can I ask what type of "pencil" do you use to sketch out your mountains and, in this case, your planet? Thanks!..PS, I think you're an awesome artist and great teacher!

Wow
What brand of acrylic do you use? I've been painting for awhile, but my paint always seems to dry too fast for me to mix a new color and blend the two.
I really like Liquitex BASICS. The brand generally has a great consistency and it's affordable :)
Hi loved your paintings... could you please make a painting of Total Solar Eclipse??
Okay I gave this a go. I foolishly thought he was using black paint at first when applying the background light. He is actually using just water before the blue. Is that correct?
It is. I used the water to kind of figure out exactly where I wanted the blue. It also allowed the blue to move more softly.
I see you water your acrylics down a lot? How much is too much before the acrylic loses it's binding properties? Cant wait to have a go at these...
As long as you are using a quality brand of paint (Liquitex Basics Acrylic paint, is my personal go-to), you shouldn't have an issue with the paint over time. I hope this helps :)
will it be so good with oil painting?
I wouldn't layer it the same way as the clouds/lighter pigments would get quite muddy (unless you wait days and let each layer dry individually)
Ryan O'Rourke - Artist hm, thank you and your works are amazing!👍
wow
WOW!
which size of canvas do you use ??????????
It changes from painting to painting. However, I believe this one was 6x8
I was just wondering: do you practice the painting beforehand and then repaint it for the video, or do you just start on a whim and hope it's 10 minutes long? Lovely painting, too. Your paintings always end up beautiful!

Ryan O'Rourke - Artist Wow I showed my mom some of your paintings and she said you practiced it before you video taped it. I can't wait to tell my mom that you don't practice beforehand.
Great
Good
Can anyone else see a half evil face in that painting?
❤
Is there a Sketch for this Planet Earth
There is for this version ruclips.net/video/twPvddzx7Ks/видео.html which you can find here www.patreon.com/posts/hour-long-lesson-25079776
Besser als von der NASA xd
This would take me three hours 😂
Pfft,
I screwed up completely and still took like 4 hours.
Days.
But I had some little details missing from the painting.
