    Can't wait now as I'm getting this bad boy tomorrow! Wow that is insane brightness. A sun in your hands would keep your hands so warm in winter when it's freezing cold. I'm sure this winter it'll be a perfect hand warmer 👌. Loved your beam shots and the brightest flashlight I own is the Klarus G15 at 4000 lumens.
    Can this flashlight get a fire going if you need a fire? That would be nice to know.
    Thanks for the review!

      @PreparedGuy  Год назад +1

      It probably can start a fire 🔥 it's definitely bright but it gets hot to hold really fast. I use mine in short bursts. This crushes 98% of all the flashlights I own. You'll be happy with it.

    Good review. Thank you! I love how the Olight X7R costs almost 3 times as much, but is not quite as good as the MS03.

    • @PreparedGuy
      @PreparedGuy  2 года назад

      Exactly. It's crazy! 🤣 I love my MS03 and I gave a way my X7R. It's only useful if you're doing search and recuse but not very useful even in those situations. The MS03 gets really hot fast but if we use it correctly it can work just fine. I rather save the money. Plus eventually someone will come out with a perfect flood for a reasonably price. I'm still waiting.

      Yep, as soon as I got it I said that this was a 'shut up and take my money' light. I might even get a second or third. 😁
      Its flood performance is the best I've seen so far, even at lower light outputs.

    I have the Imalent R30C and it is also a superb light but this MS03 definitely seems better overall at the same price😫

      Is this better than a TM9K or LR35R? I’m looking for a EDC but also one for Security work and easy to strobe. Thanks

    I just got mine. Be careful with it. I wasn't being too crazy with it. I never pointed it even close to my eyes or anyone else's eyes, or anything obviously stupid like that. I did want to try to light a fire with it though. So I grabbed a white piece of facial tissue and I hit it with the full 13,000 lumens for several seconds. I was holding the tissue about 3 inches from the light. Well when you're doing that you want to look at it to be sure that you are pointing it where you want to. It was uncomfortable, so I tried to look indirectly an it and look well away from it a lot of the time. I'm fine, but my eyes were a little weirded out by that kind of exposure. I did this in a well lighted room. If you do something like that in the dark when your eyes are dilated I hate to think of the damage it would do. I am dissapointed that it didn't catch fire though. When I held my hand in front of the beam on full power it was quite hot, but not like holding your hand at the tip of a candle flame. So as far as starting fire, I'm going to try again. Next time I'm going to try using a well processed tinder bundle. Also I did my fun with it before charging it. So it was just using the partial charge that they shipped it with. Maybe a full charge will turn up the heat. overall I'd say it's a tiny but ridiculously powerful flashlight that needs to be respected. Keep it away from kids.

    Great review!
    I have one of the predecessors to this one (max output is 4500 lumens and looks just basically about the same).
    It also gets HOT fast. It might be impractical for these quite small lights but I often wonder why no company (which I know of) has invented a general efficient cooling-solution for their lights (imalent do use air fans in some of their lights but almost no one has a water-based-solution, hmm). I would gladly pay a bit more for a light which can run much longer on these lumen levels. The industry in general seems to suffer a bit from "lumen HYPE" (thus also sacrificing run-times overall).
    I might fall for the lumen hype though since it is practical in SOME situations to have absurd amounts of lumens for a short time (and I do use my imalent 4500 lumens quite often actually). If I see this on sale in the future I might buy! :D

      It’s worthless like the rest of them since it won’t stay on the high power lumens for any significant length of time.
      The ThruNite Catapult Pro Rechargeable Flashlight may not be as bright (for the 45 seconds of 13,000? You have with that light) but the thrunight is very bright and a throw flashlight and doesn’t dim down.
      All those high lumens lights are a joke only staying bright for 30-45 seconds what a waste

  • @burritomaker69
    @burritomaker69 Год назад

    Well actually when you’re showing the modes by cycling through them because the flashlight has built up heat in the momentary seconds you showed each mode, the 13000 lumen mode is then ramped down already because it’s built up heat.

    • @PreparedGuy
      @PreparedGuy  Год назад

      Yes 😎👍 so it's only good for short burst. Which is fine. It's still pretty cool.

    Nice review. These super high lumen pocket flashlights are fun to blast light for a few seconds but then the battery will not sustain those bursts in turbo for very long. I see an output graph by a reputable channel here at 3m54s into the video, that kind of steep loss in output its really just bragging rights. It's basically loosing about 200 lumens every second through that 45 second 13000 lumen turbo leveling off at 2000 lumen. I'm guessing when the battery is 50% you will not get anywhere near 13000 lumen. ruclips.net/video/mfPqWLxBLOY/видео.html

    • @PreparedGuy
      @PreparedGuy  2 года назад +1

      It's absolutely true. It's a fun blaster but like the other video says there is a good loss every few seconds. It's a well known fact in the flashlight community. However there are some flashlights that do sustain a significant output without loss but few are higher than a couple thousands lumens. Of course regardless of the video your links takes us the fact still remains that during a time-lapse if the loss isn't noticeable to the naked eye then it isn't there for the common consumer. Which is basically what these companies bank on. 13,000 lumens will definitely show the loss on a digital measurement but lower lumen outputs can usually sustain themselves for the runtimes stated in the manual. Which is nice to known. Unfortunately lights like this are just fun novelties instead of practical tools. Thanks for the insightful comment. I hope others will acknowledge these facts. 😎👍

      @@PreparedGuy Yeah true good points. With lumens it's pretty well known that you need 4x the lumens to see only twice as bright. I actually tested that years ago for power outage preparedness with 4 home depot single mode 100 lumen flashlights doing ceiling bounce to evenly light a small room. With the 1st one on adding the 2nd was only about 25% brighter to my eye. Adding the 3rd was about 10% more and the 4th just a few percent brighter and really added almost nothing to my eye. Where this changed was in a larger room using 2 of them on one table and 2 of them 20 feet away on another table lit the bigger room better. That said with 2000 lumens you'd need an increase to 8000 only for twice as bright! So I can see why people would be fooled by perception with the ramp down.

      It's not the size of the light that counts, it's the lumens in produces. 🤣👍
