Imalent MS03 Flashlight Kit Review!

- Here is the all new Imalent MS03 flashlight kit. This light has incredible beam performance for its size. This uses a 21700 cell to provide all the power you need to the three Cree XHP70.2 LED's. Great size for EDC use. The sheer light output this can provide is bright and wide. Build quality is very nice including style as well. Its hard to believe that this can provide short bursts of 13,000 lumens on turbo. Now there is on down side which the included clip is not strong enough to hold this light so if you value your $129 dollars then don't use it rather use the holster instead. Charles, thanks to your reviews and after considering some other models, just got mine MS03 today. It's an amazing photon cannon and even in lowest power it's enough light for indoor tasks. My sample does not came with that unreliable clip but it does have a small hole on the frontal heatsink ring to tie de lanyard. None of the reported problems so far. Thank you.

@@maxinac great to know that. You are welcome. By the way, I've been using mine frequently, mostly in low-medium power and that battery is just amazing. One single charge till now (1 month), same amount of light for all power modes . What a piece of gear. Cheers

I got this a couple months ago, I love it. The only minor issueis it can turn on easily by accident but it does have a lock mode. If it's in the holster but not in lock mode make sure to put the button facing the side. If its facing away or directly towards your body it can turn in by accident. Future models should figure a better button situation.

The LED setup reminds a bit of the famous Olight X7R Marauder.
Kinda but much smaller. Thanks for watching!
Hello Mr. Charles. It was very good review. I have been waiting for this video. Can the flashlight go at 3000 lumens without stepdown?
Yes. But from Turbo is steps down to 2k lumens. Thanks for watching!

Hi Charles loved the video and your thoughts on this little flashlight! I just got it today this morning and never came with the belt clip which is a good thing due to the issue. Can't wait.till it's dark and test this little flashlight out.
Being so powerful I'm going to be using this flashlight as a little hand warmer in the cold winter months. When my hands are freezing they will be kept warm.
Is this the smallest most powerful flashlight in the market? Is there a smaller flashlight that's brighter than this.
I guess this flashlight would start a fire 🔥 easily when you need a fire 🔥. Would this be a bad thing for flashlight wanting a fire?
Quality review and beam shots from you and this tiny flashlight!
Glad you like it. Remember turbo is for short bursts. Thanks for watching!
Awesome light. I was wondering if you tried a regular button top 21700 battery to see if it'll run it on that.because I'd be interested more if it did. Thanks enjoyed the video.
Nope OEM cell will be to short. Thanks for watching!
@@CharlesBridgTec ok, thanks Charles. I'd still buy it.
Good flashlight review, mr Charles, imalent ms06 vs imalent ms03 Which one will you choose?
MS06. Thanks for watching!
I bought the MS03 3 years ago and it plays up some times. IMALENT definitely the brightest flash lights but there not very reliable! As i said I own the MS03 and IMALENT DX80 32000. The DX80 has given me issues when it comes to the battery. I think i will stick to Olight which never gave me issues !!
Thanks for your review 😊
Ok. Olight has had way more issues including recalls. LOL. Thanks for watching!
I have heard of many people having issues with Imalent flashlights, but I own 4; SR32, MR90, RS50 & MS03 and I have never had any issues.
The one Olight flashlight I own; Warrior Pro X came with a defective battery. However these things can happen.
The Olight Marauder mini looks amazing and will be the next one I get.
Thank you very much for your comments. I am about to order a ms03 or r30c. Do you think the ms03 is worth buying or is the r30c good too?
Either one would be good, look for cheaper price. Thanks for watching!
Love these Imalent flashlights. Just recently acquired the LD10, LD70, and MS03.
Thanks for watching!
Wow Nice flashlight 👍
Thanks for watching!
How do u charge the battery from your cellphone adapter or something like the Nitecore Intellicharger I4? This flashlight is on Amazon right now on sale $101 dollar.I heard the flashlight get really hot fast?
Using turbo will generate heat which is normal. You charge the light via USB, its to long for your i4 charger. Thanks for watching!
The turbo mode is inconsistent for me. Sometimes it wouldn't come on all...instead I get 4 red flashes from the indicating light. The only workaround for me was to remove the battery and put it back in. That seems to work but the turbo mode would stop working randomly even when the battery is fully charged.
Yes turbo is limited due to strain on the battery. I hear also its a Samsung 40T cell under the wrapper so its powerful enough but doing it over and over on turbo is difficult. Short bursts is fine of 15 seconds. I do get the warning triangle as shown in my night shots but I am able to do turbo at least 4 times without issues. Battery technology is clearly falling behind in the times for these types of lights. Thanks for watching!
@@CharlesBridgTec Here's what Imalent Support said when I asked them about the turbo mode issue - "MS03 is an extreme bright flashlight with smallest body, so it is designed to get the turbo output for most two times with fully charged battery within short time, or the battery will become empty within 10 minutes. We do this to keep the flashlight have a longer runtime.
...If you wish to have more than 10,000 lumens output for long time, you will need a big flashlight like DX80, which can last for 7minutes at 13000lumens." This answer is not acceptable to me.
@@wokwithwong I got more turbo runs at 15 seconds each of 5 times about 5 minutes apart not all at once.
can you do top 5 lists for edc, throw, flood, tactical flashlights to make easier for new people?
If I have time. So many new lights coming soon. Thanks for watching!

Still think about the purchase...But the second player is Mateminco Mt04 with four Xhp50..what do you think would be brighter...Iam not technician at all...Thanks a lot for help.
Imalent MS03 is all I have tested. Thanks for watching!
Let's be honest folks. In the race to be #1 in lumen output Imalent rushed this light to market knowing there were major faults as we've all experienced with the red light issue, and the inability to reach even 8000 lumens once the red light is visible. A real shame because this "could" be a game changer if they could achieve that 13000 mark for even a few minutes. But I'm not willing to pay 130.00 for a "3000" lumen light. Sorry, I've returned mine for refund, and hope they resolve the issue.

Which has longer turbo run time? This or the FW21 pro? I watched your FW21 pro review before watching this and you mentioned it was able to run turbo for 15 seconds before stepping down.. What about this one? :)
This one is about 10 seconds in cool weather. Thanks for watching!
@@CharlesBridgTec thank you, youre the best!
Charles, did you remember if it heated up a lot for extended use on the 3,000 lumens setting? Over an hour on 3k lumens flat output is pretty sweet if there's good thermal dissipation.
Any light on turbo gets toasty and should be used for short bursts. Medium will still heat up but take longer doing so step down may not happen. Thanks for watching!
I was hoping to see no step down for the 3K medium setting. Thanks for the response. I'll grab this guy as a gift for my brother's birthday. He loves fishing, and this should do well for him for late night runs.

Was very close to buying, really wanted something to compare/compete with my nitrcore tm9k, but after so many owners complaining of problems with the turbo mode i'am now putting the purchase on hold till someone clears any reservations as regards any inherent faults. Am hoping there is a solution and fix for whatever is the problem !? Price has dropped on certain major websites since these issues have come to light. Have you any new information on solutions ? I just bought one. The flashlight indicator shows Red light when switched on. 😢
Did you remove the protection piece from battery then fully charge it? Thanks for watching!
How do you compare this with Nitecore TM9K? Which one do you prefer? Why?
Well it all comes down to you and the size you want. I like the Nitecore better but the Imalent batteries is removable. The Nitecore is also bigger than the Imalent so for everyday carry may attract others more. As for performance I don't use Turbo often so Nitecore runs at 1900 lumens until battery is drained. I will not be purchasing one of these. I have several Astrolux EC03 6700 lumen lights, and do have a 10000 lumen lumintop FW21 pro on the way. Those 2 lights are already insane for such small lights, and neither is capable of maintaining the maximum for any really usable amount of time, Both get insanely hot as well. In my opinion, before putting 3 70.2 emitters in a tiny light just because you can, someone should be asking if they should. I wish light makers would start focusing on lights that achieve a high sustainable lumen output. Unfortunately, no light even really lists the maximum sustainable lumen output of their lights. For flood or combination lights they focus only on the maximum lumens possible. For throwers, they only focus on the maximum range, even when the size in area of the light thrown is not useful. The Acebeam W30 is actually a laser, and it's throw might be impressive, but is not really useful. I can think of no practical purpose for such a light, other than a beacon so the person using it can be found. I have the Astrolux MF04, with a 2416 meter throw, but its ridiculous size makes it not very practical. The more practical thrower is the Astrolux FT03 SST40-W with an 875 meter throw while being a practical size, and is actually useful when needed. For flood lights the Astrolux EC01, Sofirn IF25, or Olight Seeker 2 pro are good choices. The Thrunite TN42 is perhaps useful for search and rescue, but is still too large for much else. If I were to be stranded on a deserted Island with only 2 lights I own with many batteries, I would choose the Astrolux FT03 SST40-W, and the Sofirn SD05, which can also be used underwater as it is a dive light. Both are also fairly inexpensive. As a collector. I do like having some extreme lights like the MF04, and my MF01S as an extreme flood of 15000 lumens. Those 2 are on the outside edges of useful lights though, so I will pass on the MF05, and this Imalent MS03. You can go bankrupt trying to always have the longest thrower or highest lumen lights like the Imalent MS18 100,000 lumen monster that is over 600 dollars. I picked the MF04 up for 160 and that is sticker shock enough.

Could u pls reccommend a powerful flood flash light better than MS03 with the same size or a little bigger.
