  • Here is the all new/brand new Fenix PD40R v2! This has been redesign with a dial instead of a push button for easy advancing thru the UI. This runs on an included 21700 cell for increased runtimes. This also has the fast charging Type C port for those who are on the go. The powerful Luminus SST-70 gives an excellent performance in both range and light output. This v2 provides combination beam performance. This is a complete kit. The holster on this model is good quality. The build quality of this light is top notch. Comes with everything you need in the box to get started outside the box! W G the 40R is a nice light but it gets hot fast and won't run on turbo long before getting too hot. The 36R is a superb light and I have to say overall I like it better than my 40R. That's just my opinion though

    • @garovetsas4125
      @garovetsas4125 3 года назад

      Supposedly the PD 36R has further throw which is more important to me I have the 36R why bother getting a 40Rif it doesn’t have further throw down to 36 R

    • @MemphisMojo15s
      @MemphisMojo15s 3 года назад

      @@garovetsas4125 it definitely doesn't throw farther than the 36R, at least the original version doesn't. The V2 might throw as far with a bit more coverage because the candela output on the 40R V2 is a lot higher than the original 40R

    Thanks for a thorough review.
    I have been jogging with my dog at night for up to 1.5 hours each time. Would you say this is pretty comfortable to hold onto for that? I think the size and weight are perfectly fine; I'm more concerned about potential heat if the flashlight has been on at 3000 or 1000 lumens for an extended period of time.

    • @CharlesBridgTec
      @CharlesBridgTec  4 года назад +5

      Turbo has a limited times due to heat and will cycle to high. 500 lumens to 1000 lumens is plenty of light but again it will still get very warm which is normal. Thanks for watching!

I would like bright as possible, approximately 1500+ lumen. Have a minimum of 1000m of throw. A nice concentrated beam, not a flood. Would like to be able to use it on high setting for 1 hr minimum. The length of the light less than 12” long. The bezel of the lense needs to be 2.5” or less. Rechargeable larger size battery for max run time. Ended up returning it for the PD36R- I found out after having it that TURBO will not work when battery is below 80%- this is really useless for me - this was confirmed from the company! They are trying to get a battery to make it last longer- I would rather have the PD36R turbo is 1600 lumens but works for almost all of the battery capacity!

    • @CharlesBridgTec
      @CharlesBridgTec  3 года назад +2

      Well turbo is not design to run constantly. The PD36R will cycle down from 1600 lumens to 800 lumens verses the 1000 lumens the PD40R v2 does more light output longer using the same 21700 cells are used in the same light. The PD36R will not stay on turbo longer than 2 minutes which the step down is gradual. I think you got turbo and high mixed up. The PD36R has good throw but the PD40R beats its in throw. I think you would be happy with either Fenix just don't buy a light based on turbo outputs. Thanks for watching!

      I have not had this issue and when I contacted them about this as well they never heard of it. The turbo light output is double so of coarse on turbo the light will drain the battery faster. As for runtimes, the PD40R v2 is just as good as the PD36R but 1000 lumens verses the 800 lumens with the PD36R plus you stated the PD36R will run the whole time on turbo at 1600 lumens which is not true which its will cycle down to high. So I was giving you times on actual performance of high with both lights which is fact. Take care.

      Charles BridgTec Not arguing with you at all, email was straight from an employee- he knew very well that it would not work below 80%. So i bet you will hear more about this in the future when batteries are starting to not be able to use turbo after they dip below 80 percent. 800-1000 is not that big of a deal for what my use is. Still watch all your videos but i hope to see an honest opinion if my situation becomes the norm for the light!

      @@ishotapig Please provide me the person who sent you this email. There is no argument for you stated the 1600 lumens could run the whole time until battety drained which is not true. So I tried to give you facts on high. Any light you chose from Fenix will do well for you. I just can't have you falsify runtimes to justify your return but I have no issues with your decision to return the light. Please provide me the name of this Fenix individual and email me at my RUclips address of reachmebridg@zoho.com i am ambassador for Fenix so I take this seriously. Thanks for support my work and as always take care.
