LJ was the 1st player ever to win a version of National Player Of The Year in high school, junior college and NCAA division 1; he’s also the 1st (and to date only) player to be named national JUCO player of the year both years he played. Some even believe he could’ve been a first round pick in the 1989 draft if he entered instead of going to UNLV. Just imagine if he didn’t have those back problems later in his career!

I hated those UNLV squads back in the day, but I have to say, that cockiness, that swagger, and the way the could back it up - it did make them entertaining, and that's what it's all about, right?
They may have been villains, but these villains were kind of fun to watch - and everyone in school did. We lost a lot of sleep tuning into those games (on the East Coast), but we'd do it all over again if we could.
