That guitar sounds fantastic! I think it's the best-sounding Gibson acoustic guitar I've heard. And it is beautiful!
If you get the chance to own one of these, KEEP IT! There might even be better guitars out there but who cares, it doesn't matter, it's an SJ200, it's the King.
@@Narrowboat.and.offgrid.living Eastman is complete junk compared to the SJ200. SMH…

There is no better guitar than the j200 just like a Martin or Taylor or yamaha no guitar is better than them . They're are equals you can get a great guitar player on a cheap guitar and make it sound great and a inexperienced player on a j200 and make it sound awful
To me the classic Gibson (S)J-200 with the maple back and sides, plus the Martin D-28, those are the two guitars of my dreams. Those are the guitars I always hear in my head as well as on countless of famous recordings, so that's what I want. I guess I have an expensive taste when it comes to guitars.
The reason why I like these, besides the looks and the wonderful heritage, is the fact that I think of them as the ideal strummers. And I'm a strummer. I've played the electric guitar for 32, or 33 years before I bought my first acoustic, a J-45 Standard. But you can't teach an old dog new tricks. I'll never be a finger picker, but I think I can strum to accompany my own singing, 'cause that's what I love to do.
Well, maybe one day I'll be lucky enough to be able to afford one of them.
One thing I don't get is the fact that you can almost never find a classic acoustic in a black finish. Gibson does do limited runs every once in a while, but these things are rare and therefore even more expensive. I don't get it. Black looks so classy. And for some reasons it's always the big stars that play them. Johnny Cash pops up in mind. And I remember being 9 years old when I fell in love with what I think must have been a black J-200, played by Emmylou Harris. Elvis had one, but that one was butt ugly, because of the inlay. You can find these quite frequently on Reverb, like the Everly Brothers guitar with the ridiculous large two pickguards (I always felt that couldn't have a positive effect on the vibrating qualities of the top of a good acoustic)....., so why don't they just start to list black colored guitars as a standard option besides sunburst and natural? In 2018 Gibson sold standard J-45's in pink, light blue, fluorescent green, silver (I believe) and some more colors, but black wasn't one of them. I don't get it. Just don't.
I think a strong and balanced stable should have rosewood, mahogany and maple in it. I have a rosewood and mahogany guitar. I would love a J-200, as you said, so much legendary music has been played on a J-200. But I’m not sure if I can afford one. And don’t forget George Harrison played a J-200 quite extensively.
@@edmondlau511 Mainly came here because of Harrison and Lennon's playing in Two Of Us. This guitar is heavenly!
I would love to hear someone play Night Moves on that guitar all the way through like it was originaly recorded by Bob.
Love the natural finish. I love the look of the vintage sunburst, but I didn’t want the paint to dampen some of the vibrations. The maple has some nice flaming to it as well.
Every guitar has model has its unique sound that’s why people gotta have like twelve guitars...lol!
Loving these Gibsons!
Woah Dadsy that riff at 4:28 😍😍
Sounds great! Nice demo guys!
Not for me...but...has my admiration.
Wow man it’s beautiful guitar
I trust Quinton gets a commission for the 200 I will be walking out with this afternoon.
If Gibson made THAT guitar with a plain pickguard and an EBONY fretboard, I'd buy it in a second. That figured maple is awesome.
Cannadine's Ideal Guitar
Rebuild those types of a guitar into a 3-and-a-half-times lower note 5-string bass guitar including every semi-acoustic banjo bass please rebuild more than most of those types of semi-acoustic 3-and-a-half times lower note 5-string banjo bass.
Only 1 thin f-hole on all of them, please? And I mean only 1 thin f-hole on all of them and rebuild more than most of them from 4 and a half times more different colours of solid plastic bass guitars and banjo bass?
I always love you're sessions, as said many times before, you guys are doing a phenomenal job👍
Fine guitar however, it's way too BIG for my wife and the Gibson Emmylou Harris L-200 is not often for sale 😢
We get the Parlor 200 in stock from time to time, it's very similar to the Emmylou Harris model. Basically a mini version of the J-200.
@@TheAcousticLetter Thanks for the info, then we just have to hope, that Quinton will test it 😊
Where is that 1960s Hummingbird review????
Yaay!
JUST BOUGHT ONE IN SUNBURST. GREAT GUITAR. COULD SOMEONE TELL ME HOW MANY WILLBE MADE ?
hello...i have many guitars. just bought the AJ200 two months ago 2020 and love it...sound great, plays great, looks great..question..the action seems a tad high. any advice from owners/players, thanks.
Take it to a luthier. He/she knows how to set up the guitar comfortably.
so is this the same as what was formerly named the sj200 "standard"?
No, standard is in the modern series, this is a standard with some “vintage “ upgrades….
Cool
Can you get the nut width 1.575 with artist taper .. t. You
Is there a noticeable difference in sound between this standard j200 and the custom shop 57 reissue?
I think the 57 sounds a little bit warmer, due to the top, but every youtube video is different, I love this Original Series SJ200 and I think ot sounds similar to the Historic, a little bit brighter but give it time to open up
Hi. How to get this model please? Can anyone help me? Thank you.
I think we still have one in stock: musicvilla.com/collections/gibson-acoustics

@@TheAcousticLetter Simply GORGEOUS! Thank you!!
They cant sell many, they are absolutely ridiculously priced.
Must agree, bought a great copy from china and its a great guitar everyone should have a chance to own. It's my favorite of 20 guitars I've had
OK, if they start kissing then I'm done!
me too . . . I really like Paul, just not in that way :)
@@quintonking9960 Haha, thanks I feel better now!
l dont like this guy when he play he bang the guitar with out feeling with pick we dont feel the guitar why not struming with finger only and picking
Record yourself playing maybe we learn something!
I like the wintry tone, though, the response sounds like it is suffering from the George Floyd Effect - as if someone had their boot on it's throat.
